Having said that, it's hypothetical anyway, seeing as Madeleine wasn't abducted through the window or from anywhere else in the apartment.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
He said that if they close it, then FOI's will pour in and they will have to explain what they have been doing.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
If so, it explains a lot. Unfortunately it also means that it will carry on and their attempts to close it with a CB conviction will have come to nothing.
Looks like Labour cant rely on shutting down Op. grange. to save money. They will have to cough up some more in May 25.

I think they hope we will eventually go away, they will all be retired and on their ample pension before I lose interest.

If you were sure the missing child isn't able to lift the shutters, to slide the window and to jump outside (more or less 1 meter) in the darkness, yes ! But the shutters/window/curtains were only SAID to be open in the MC case !crusader wrote:I have to partially disagree on the point above, I agree it was the wrong thing to do leaving the twins alone, but if I found my children's bedroom window open and one of my children gone, my first thought would be she had been abducted.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
Imo the risk (for the highly powerful "believers" of the abduction hoax), if Op Grange is closed (as it should, once no evidence was gathered against CB), is the requirement for a public inquiry. A lot of public money has been spent and many police officers have been assigned for years to the search of an allegedly abducted child, without any result nor even evidence of abduction, and a fund has been created on that same unproved basis. The issue is why did the UK government choose to believe the MC hypothesis and ignore the findings of the PT police. All this deserves a public inquiry, don't you think ?crusader wrote:I said that months ago, they will have a lot of explaining to do and that is the reason for it being kept as a "live" investigation.

"The only justification required for a public inquiry is the existence of “public concern” about a particular event or set of events."

A DEAD child would find it almost impossible

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
Came across this interview with Bernt and watched the whole of it. Found it interesting, but most of what he said was almost word-for-word from Amaral's book, which I found strange.
The only new information he proffered was about this location "on the hill" where he claims to have caught Kate and / or Gerry, and numerous associates making several visits over a number of years, and that as such he claims to know where the body is buried, roughly. He hasn't however, released any of this video footage, which he puts down to "playing a game" with Kate & Gerry etc, and how he's biding his time.
Call me skeptical, but I'm suspicious of this, it seems like he's just trying to make a quick buck from selling a few thousand copies of his book (which is no more than a rehash of Amaral's work), whilst dangling the promise of video evidence. If, as he claims, he's bothered about finding the body, and not making money from book sales, why not release the video? There's no game to be played with the McCanns, they've seen off the PJ, I doubt a bloke on his own will make any progress.
I'm happy to be proven wrong on this bloke, but he's claiming to have new "evidence" whilst conveniently withholding it. Bizarre.
Would welcome other peoples thoughts on this.

Bern t has spent a considerable amount of time and effort producing the book, I don't see why he should n't make money from it.

He's camped out on the Rocher Negra and fitted many field cameras.
I can't wait for the video's to be released showing what he caught, I hope it's sooner rather than later.
If what he say's is true, the McCann's will have a lot of explaining to do.
That in itself is worth him making money from his findings, I begrudge him nothing, I hope he makes a fortune, he will need it if he gets Carter Rucked.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
I’ve read both books and I’m not sure what you mean? They are totally different books, both deserving of merit but totally different. They are talking about the same case so some detail is going to be similar - obviously!phil_burton wrote:Hi there, long time member, but haven't posted in a long time.

Maybe read Peter Macs review of the book, if you don’t want to read the book? I would even watch the interview again if I were you, you appear to have missed a lot if you think it’s identical to Amarals book.
The videos are his to release as and when he sees fit, not public property. He has shown the videos to some key people, I’m sure he will take advice from them as to how to play the footage card. He’s hardly going to release it because of this kind of cajoling.
As to a quick buck - do you know anything about how much its cost him so far? Or is it just a wild guess that he must be making a quick buck? Are you aware how hard it is to get a book like this published or marketed? What an achievement that is alone. Maybe you are unaware of the pressure the McCanns put on publishers & booksellers, how most of them are terrified to touch anything that might upset the McCanns.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
I will watch the video again, but I don’t remember much new information - just almost verbatim repetition of Amaral’s book, and many of the theories I have read on here. He even name checks this forum several times.
Like I said - I hope I’m wrong and that there is more to come from this, I’ve followed this case since the day it happened, and strongly believe Maddie was not abducted and that the McCanns hold the key. I just hope this isn’t a bait and switch to sell books. Perhaps he’ll release a teaser of the footage he has, who knows.

You should post more often - you last posted seven years ago - as it's good to have a variety of viewpoints.
Bern t is building on existing knowledge so obviously is going to reference Amaral and this forum.
