How would a Patent be granted if the Machine failed to function?

A patent can be for an idea. It doesn't have to be working. There are hundreds of thousands of crazy patents out there.
Patents are registered designs and ideas. Not proof of concept.

The Patent was Granted for the Method and Device and not the Idea or the Theory behind it.

Seriously that is garbage - it doesn't say how it works and there is no proof he was a working device.

It's full of words designed to impress like "quantum" and "entanglement" - it's snake oil.

I know what entanglement is all about - it's one of my pet subjects and i had a physics PHD work colleague who would discuss it with me. Einstein right or wrong.

Google "crazy patents" and have fun. I absolutely think you should do this, there are some hilarious patents.

I am sure there are many hilarious Patents out there, but I shall not waste my time with them.

I will just watch and see if when Danie Krügel returns to Portugal, he pinpoints a DNA strand
or any particle of Madeleine Beth McCann left behind by the Fake 'Abductor' who 'so swiftly' removed her Body from Apartment 5A.

I am with Bluebagthepirate on this one, really.
I would love to see some evidence that this "device" is useful and would happily change my mind but seriously, it fails all the BS detector tests.

Certainly not something that can be tested objectively and independently. No way to know if he has other info to able him to locate something/someone. Classic mind/word gobbledygook like Derren Brown mixed with spoon bending.

So, all we have left is his word for it and I find his self promotion extremely suspect.

Very much Snake Oil to me...

...and quite the distraction from a real criminal investigation into a real crime.

The only questions in Science are:
Does it work
Does it predict
Can we replicate it time after time under given circumstances

There is ‘some’ evidence that it has worked, and I’ll upload a recent example tomorrow when I have looked at it further?
the body was discovered where he said it was, in a sewage filled swamp>
Whether that was anything more than a good guess given the circumstances surrounding the incident I have yet to consider.

Bernt didn't need any machine to figure out where Madeleine is buried.

Good science is testable and repeatable.

Most people have no idea about quantum theory or entanglement but it sounds impressive.

Krugel is a con artist like mediums are.

Derren Brown would smile if he read about this machine.

The key thing here is that Bernt Stellander doesn't need Krugel and Krugel has no impact on the brick.

In the book he is indifferent to the claims about this machine and his interest was from the fact the McCanns called him in then dumped him when he guessed too close.

I agree with Paddington. I don't think anyone will crack. Bernt hasn't really said anything new that hasn't been discussed here.
The sticking point is why the government, etc, interference?
If it was just, "a good marketing ploy", it would have been dropped as soon as they realised all was not as it seemed. But they didn't and haven't. Why?
Just my opinion.

Slowly slowly catch the monkey as the saying goes, the info given by Bernt in his book in my opinion was potentially identifiable not only to the nugget themselves but possibly residents in PDL and other resorts close by who happen to read it,

The people that show up on the camera don't do anything but "look", except for Mrs N, who does something in the dirt. I think this could be where a beloved dog was buried.

After the first cryptic email where it says they have a week, no one shows up for 3 weeks! No rush, no panic, and they just look.

The next email no one shows up for months. No rush, no panic!
