Reported missing. Charged with murder !
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] David Venables, 88, has been charged with the murder of his wife Brenda Venables, 48, whose remains were found in a septic tank in Kempsey, Worcestershire, after she disappeared in 1982. |
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said David Venables is accused of killing Brenda Venables, 48, who was reported missing from the couple's then home at Bestmans Lane in Kempsey.
West Mercia Police launched a murder investigation after the grim find at the address in the Worcestershire village on July 12, 2019.
Mark Paul, head of the CPS' complex casework unit, said: 'The decision to authorise the charge against the defendant was made after careful consideration of all the available evidence of this complex case and determining that a prosecution is required in the public interest.
'The alleged offences occurred between May 2 1982 and May 5 1982.
'The function of the CPS is not to decide whether a person is guilty of a criminal offence, but to make fair, independent and objective assessments about whether criminal charges are appropriate.
'Criminal proceedings are now active, and there must be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could prejudice these proceedings.'
In July 2019, officers from West Mercia Police carried out searches at a bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac in Kempsey, following the discovery of the remains earlier that month.
The force launched an 'unexplained death' inquiry and linked it to the disappearance of the farmer's wife.
In May 1982, the Worcester Evening News ran a story on Mrs Venables going missing two days earlier from her home in Bestmans Lane.
The article described police using a helicopter to search the banks of the nearby River Severn.
Venables will appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court for the first hearing on June 15, the CPS said.

Ahhh !
The old "Reported Missing" ploy
Can we think of any other examples ?

What have the following in common ?

Shannon Matthews
April Jones
Tia Sharp
Caylee Marie Anthony

Joana Cipriano
Harmony Jude Creech
Dominik Takács
Leonardo Giovanni Sendejas
Riley Ann Sawyers
Marina Sabatier
Michael Daniel Smith

Samuele Lorenzi

Adults
Fadi Nasri
Kirsi Gifford-Hull
Joanna Nelson
Sharon Malone
Lee Harvey
Rachel McClean
Answer
In every case they were reported as having been “abducted”, or as “missing”, or in
other ways someone gave false statements to police, and in every case they had
been harmed either by a member of their own family who had made that false
report, or by someone very close to the family and known to them.
Only Shannon Matthews escaped with her life. Her case was slightly different from
the others, and involved her being used in an attempt by her mother and another
relative to obtain the reward money by deception.
Every one of these children was included on the lists of “Abducted” or “Missing”
children, about which the public are told to be so concerned, and from which other
people make so much money.
Interestingly some of these names still have not been removed from the lists
published by the many “Charities” which exist, allegedly to ‘assist’, even though the
cases have been concluded, and the guilty sentenced.

Stepfather is charged with murdering five-year-old Logan after the boy was 'attacked and left with torn liver' before his body 'was dumped in river in plastic bag' and family was accused of botched 'cover-up'

A father has appeared in court charged with the 'harrowing' murder of his five-year-old stepson who was found dead in a river.
John Cole, 39, is accused of murdering 'kind, handsome, polite and clever' Logan Williamson who died of serious liver and head injuries.
Cole is also charged with perverting the course of justice along with his fiance Angharad Williamson, 30, and a 13-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.
The court heard Logan was allegedly attacked at his home in Bridgend, South Wales, and was left in 'extreme pain and distress.'
Prosecutor Bethan Poole told the court how his mother found him dead in the early hours of last Saturday morning and a plot was hatched to 'cover up' the crime.
Ms Poole said: 'Angharad Williamson was shouting: 'He's dead, he's dead. They decided not to call the police and get rid of the body.'
The court heard Logan's body was taken to the river in a plastic bin bag and his ripped t-shirt was also disposed of. The court heard the family often used the river for fly-tipping.
Magistrates were told screams of 'Where is Logan' heard by neighbours were a decoy to make people think the little boy had gone missing.
Ms Poole said Williamson rang police to say Logan was missing and another person had taken him as a 'cover up story.'
But two figures were seen on CCTV leaving and returning to the property in the middle of the night, the court was told.
The prosecutor told the court: 'There were three main injuries caused when Logan was alive and 24 hours before he was found dead.
'The cause of deaths not an accident and was as a result of impacted pressure either by an object, a foot or a fist.
'His liver was torn, the back of his head and scalp had become parted and he had a broken collar bone.'
Father-of-two Cole spoke only to confirm his name and address and date of birth. No plea was given.

Terrible situation with that boy Logan. What a horrific death.
I was reading the story of it in the news and when it said the mother had shouted that he was missing, my first thought was "oh yeah" (sarcastically) and then the family trying to make out that he'd been kidnapped... definitely had the smell of another case.

Britain is the best country for child murderers to live. Get caught, then a few years inside, out in public again, possibly still young enough to breed again. Unless of course 'spared jail' should extend to murderers as well as paedophiles.

What an absolutely horrible story. I wonder how it would have gone if the body had not been found, revealing so much evidence?

Madrid - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The pieces of the puzzle did not fit together. The security cameras in the area, checked by the police, did not record anything to corroborate the story offered by the alleged victim: that he had been [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] wearing hoods in the entrance to his apartment building on Sunday, in the central Madrid neighborhood of Malasaña. He also claimed that they insulted him with homophobic slurs before carving the word “maricón” (faggot) into one of his buttocks before leaving.
Residents, interviewed by the police, said that they hadn’t “heard or seen anything,” despite the supposed attack having taken place in broad daylight. Nor did the owner of a store, where the victim claimed to have been, remember seeing him. There was not a single witness to the alleged crime.
Investigators from the police station where the 20-year-old filed his report, as well as officers from the Provincial Information Squad in Madrid, were [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] of events. On Wednesday, during a more “unhurried” interview, the man changed his story. “It was consensual, in the house of another person with whom I had a sexual relationship,” he confessed to the police. He explained that he had lied in order to keep the truth from his current partner.
Reports of the case earlier this week, which also claimed that the young man had suffered a knife wound to his lip as well as to his buttock, prompted a wave of reactions. Even the Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, shared a message via his official Twitter account in which he condemned the “homophobic attack” and convened an emergency meeting for this Friday of the Commission Against Hate Crimes.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Investigators were somewhat puzzled by the case from the start, given that the man was unwilling to file a complaint and was “dragged” to the police station to do so by his partner. Both the supposed victim’s roommate and his partner assured police that he had told them the same version of events when he had arrived home that morning with the aforementioned knife injuries. But it was not until 5pm on Sunday that they finally decided to go to the police. On the way there they encountered a patrol car, and the supposed victim gave the officers his account of the incident. They urged him to immediately file a report.
Investigations by the officers did not find anything that corroborated the version of events they had heard. There were no suspects, witnesses or evidence – not even the clothes that he was wearing that day, which he said he had washed. Given this lack of evidence, officers opted to interview him for a second time, which is when he admitted he had lied.
Speaking on Wednesday on Spanish TV network La Sexta, after the man had admitted lying, the interior minister stated that this incident was a “mere anecdote” and that it should not be used to play down [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in Spain. “If we trivialize what has happened, many people will feel even more coerced,” Grande-Marlaska stated. People who would normally file a report may [end up] not doing so, as maybe they will think that no one will believe them. The only thing I am calling for is that irresponsible voices not be heard.”
The LGBTQ+ collective that had organized a demonstration on Wednesday evening in the central Puerta del Sol square decided not to cancel despite the development in the case. “Do you know why?” a statement released on Instagram by Movimiento Marika Madrid said. “Because in recent days there have also been [homophobic] attacks in Toledo, Melilla, Castellón and Vitoria. Because they killed Samuel for being queer,” in reference to the recent [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], a young homosexual man who died after being attacked by a group who also proffered homophobic insults during the incident.
The COGAM LGBTQ+ collective in Madrid has also opted not to cancel its protest planned for this weekend in Sol. “The reality is that the victims are out there, and they are created every day, throughout the country. And that’s why it makes sense to keep the demonstration,” explained Carmen García de Merlo, the president of COGAM, Pilar Álvarez reports. “We are keeping it so that we can protest because Madrid has two laws that are not being complied with [one covering trans people and another generic LGBTQ+ law, both of which were passed in 2016]. And because [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Tomorrow it could be any one of us.”
Ignacio Paradero, the secretary of the Organization of the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Trans and Bisexuals (FELGTB), agreed. “The rise in cases continues to be there, even though the one in Malasaña was false,” he said. “That doesn’t erase the number of offenses that there are, nor those that have happened over recent days. Cases such as this, of course, do us damage. There will be people who try to take advantage of this to say that hate crimes are not true, but there has been a growth in cases and since the murder of Samuel Luiz there is fear among the collective.”
In 2020, there were 1,401 reports of hate crimes, which was 17.9% fewer than in 2019 when there were a total of 1,706. These offenses have grown year after year since 2003. The Interior Ministry points to the effect of the coronavirus pandemic for the fall in the figures seen last year, given that citizens were locked down in their homes for several months in the spring and social activities were severely limited for the rest of the year.
José María Núñez Blanco is the president of the Fundación Triángulo, which was founded in 1996 and is aimed at achieving equality of political and social rights for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans people. “The data are overwhelming,” he said. “One false report does not change the fact that there are thousands that are real. This [case] does us a huge amount of harm. The characteristics of the reported facts and their apparent brutality gave it a lot of significance,” he admitted. But he added that there is currently a spike in homophobic cases, “both in cities and in towns,” and that “the rise in hateful discourse” is among the reasons for this.

Rise in assaults
Figures from the Interior Ministry reflect that, in the first six months of this year, the police and Civil Guard have received 610 reports related to hate crimes, which is 9.3% up on the same period in 2019, when there were 558 – a previous record since these statistics began to be tracked in 2014. Father must serve minimum of 32 years for murdering daughter Bernadette Walker
10 Sep 2021
A man who murdered his daughter and then hid her body after she made allegations of sexual abuse against him has been told he will serve a minimum of 32 years in prison.
Today (Friday) Scott Walker was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of killing 17-year-old Bernadette Walker at Cambridge Crown Court earlier this year, despite her body never being found.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
It is still not known how Bernadette, known as Bea, met her fate but the last confirmed sighting of her alive was when Scott picked her up from his parents’ home in Werrington, Peterborough, on Saturday 18 July last year.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
She had been there as a result of the allegations she’d made the previous day against the person she knew as “dad” but was not her biological father.
However, Scott did not bring the teenager back to their home in Century Square, Millfield, that morning.
His mobile phone activated cell sites in the Dogsthorpe and Gunthorpe areas, both in the opposite direction, and at just before 11.30am it disconnected from the network and didn’t reconnect for an hour-and-a-half.
For the following seven weeks, Scott and his former partner, Bernadette’s mother Sarah, deceived friends, family and police by laying a false trail to suggest Bea was still alive and had run away from home.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
On 26 July, Scott was found guilty of murder and two counts of perverting the course of justice, relating to providing false information to police and sending messages from Bernadette’s phone.
Sarah Walker had previously admitted perverting the course of justice by sending messages from Bea’s phone and providing false information to police (without knowing Bea was dead and with the intention to cover up the sexual allegations against Scott). However, she was found guilty of alternative charges of perverting the course of justice, which were identical to the charges she admitted but with the knowledge that Bea was dead.
Today (Friday), they both appeared at Cambridge Crown Court where Scott was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 32 years.
The prosecution barrister told the court there were three major aggravating features – the premeditation of how Scott planned the murder, the gross breach of trust, and Scott refusing to tell police where the body was.
Detectives have visited Scott in prison since his conviction in order to try to speak with him, however he has refused up to now.
Sarah was sentenced to a total of six years in prison, of which she must serve at least half before being considered for parole.
Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit, said: “I would like to thank our prosecution team who presented our case exceptionally well, enabling us to get justice for Bea after what has been such tragic circumstances. I still hope we may get the answers we need to be able to find her and lay her to rest. If anyone has any information about this investigation which may help us find Bea, please get in touch.
“We may never know the truth about what Scott did and why, but we do know Bea had made allegations of abuse against him.
“My plea to anyone who may have been subjected to abuse is to speak to us. Bea thought she could confide in her own mother, who should have been able to protect her, but instead she met a tragic end.”
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
During the six-week trial earlier this year, the jury heard Bea’s mother had not reported her missing to police until 21 July.
Scott claimed he had stopped the car on their way back from his parents’ home to speak about the allegations Bernadette had made, but she had got out and ran off in Skaters Way, leaving her rucksack behind.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
However, police discovered that instead of going straight to collect her that morning, Scott had gone to a lock-up garage owned by his parents in Walton. And it was not the only time he visited this location in the days after Bea was reported missing.

Having disconnected from the network for an hour-and-a-half after Scott picked Bea up, once it reconnected the first call he made was to Sarah, lasting nine minutes.
In the following 48 hours, both Scott and Sarah made multiple trips to the lock-up as well as to Cowbit, a rural area of Lincolnshire, in the dead of night.
Passwords on Bea’s social media accounts were changed and messages sent to friends and family to make it look as though Bea had simply run away from home.
The allegations Bea had made about being sexually abused by her father were passed to police via a social worker on 22 July.
On 10 September, Scott was arrested for this and allegedly coercively controlling Sarah. The following day, the investigation became a murder enquiry.

Bea’s rucksack was found in the Walton lock-up and a diary found inside. An extract read, “Told my mum about my dad and the abuse. She called me a liar and threatened to kill me if I told the police. What kind of parent wouldn’t believe their daughter?”

Meanwhile, extensive searches by specially trained officers continued for many weeks, but Bea’s whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
DI Jenkins said: “We know Bea was without her mobile phone when she left the family home on 17 July.
“Despite this, a number of messages via text and social media were sent from Bea’s phone, by both Scott and Sarah, to make it look as though she was still alive and not wanting to go home. This would then explain their failure to report her missing for several days.
“After three days of Bea having been ‘missing’, Sarah contacted us via webchat to ask for advice and eventually called 101 to make a formal missing person report. It was clear nothing had been done to make sure Bea was safe, just a very long line of lies and deceit which grew by the day.”

However, police discovered that instead of going straight to collect her that morning, Scott had gone to a lock-up garage owned by his parents in Walton. And it was not the only time he visited this location in the days after Bea was reported missing.

Re: Reported missing. Charged with murder !
You would think that by now ALL police officers and ALL Journalists worth of the name knew enough to be at least a teeny bit suspicious, . . . wouldn't you ?
Re: Reported missing. Charged with murder !
'Nutt admitted killing Ms Walker but 'he did not intend to kill her or cause her really serious harm'.
That's obviously alright then. Only 'serious harm' intended, not 'really serious'.
Did he honestly say that or is it the usual crap journalism we unfortunately expect nowadays?
PS:
Thank you Verdi. I was just about to have a look at the Summer Wells case to see if anything had happened.

Re: Reported missing. Charged with murder !
Reported missing but actually murdered and buried under concrete...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
On 28 March this year a 39-year-old Brazilian woman, Débora Morais Dos Santos, went missing in Malaga, leaving behind her partner and two children aged 17 and five. Her partner said she had walked out, and everybody believed him: her family, associations of missing persons… but not the officers from the National Police homicide squad, who continued to investigate her disappearance and had their suspicions about the man with whom she had been living.
Last Friday, 23 September, after questioning him again for five hours, he confessed: Débora was dead. And he took the detectives to the place where he had buried her body, a warehouse on La Estrella industrial estate in Malaga city. He said he had made a hole, placed her inside and covered the site with cement.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, investigators found her. She had been placed in rubbish sacks and wrapped in blankets; this probably helped to preserve her body, because it had not deteriorated as much as would be expected after six months.
Débora’s bag and all her documentation were with her. It was the fact that they couldunot be found when she disappeared that her partner used to support his argument that she had left the country, and had probably gone back to Brazil, where she had come from.
The police believe she had been killed and her body hidden between 28 and 29 March, but it was not until May that the SOS Desaparecidos missing persons organisation published a poster with her photo and physical description.

I bet the Associations of Missing Persons, are not saying anything about their incredible naïveté

Re: Reported missing. Charged with murder !
There is something so Predictable about these cases . . .
including the inevitable involvement of Missing Persons Charities which serve only to divert attention from the facts.
Are they complicit in Perverting the Course of Justice ?

I hate being so distrustful, but I think at least some of them are perverting the course of justice. They can so easily remove, or manipulate, information.

Re: Reported missing. Charged with murder !
Their use of statistics is deliberately misleading.
"250,000 children missing every year in the UK"
which implies they are never seen again.
The reality is the vast majority are statutory reports from Children's Homes for children who are 10 minutes late.
But that doesn't support a CEO with a 6 figure salary.
"Missing and never seen again" is in single figures.
