DESPICABLE trolls have mocked up an “appalling” photo of Madeleine McCann's parents with the NHS slogan “Stay at home save lives”.

Kate and Gerry McCann are said to be disgusted by the cruel dig shared just days after the 13th anniversary of their daughter's disappearance.

It features an old snap of heart doctor Gerry and ex-GP Kate during one of their public appeals and has been Photoshopped with them holding a placard bearing the Prime Minister’s coronavirus lockdown slogan.

A family friend said: "Kate and Gerry are appalled that someone could stoop this low.

“To mock them like this is callous and offensive and at a time when lives are tragically being lost due to coronavirus makes it even worse.

“They try to avoid social media for this very reason. The trolling has been going on for nearly 13 years and they find it despicable."

Kate, 52, now a medical worker, and Gerry, 51, from Rothley, Leics, both work for the NHS which is being lauded during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mum-of-three has previously told how the hurtful abuse has been “shocking, striking and quite hard to get your head around”.
'APPALLING' TROLLS

The latest wave comes just months after they were left “shocked and saddened” when a troll posing as Maddie attacked them for simply eating out at a restaurant with family.

Kate and Gerry were pictured by a member of public during a visit to a restaurant in Scotland in November last year.

A troll later posted a Facebook jibe under a photo of the pair saying: "Mum and dad are closer than I thought.”

It was sickeningly in reference to the night Maddie vanished after being left sleeping alone with her younger twin siblings while her parents were dining in a nearby tapas restaurant in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in May 2007.

The McCanns were also bombarded with abuse after streaming giant Netflix released an eight-part documentary last Spring re-examining the facts of Maddie’s abduction and presenting new theories.

Kate and Gerry refused to take part in the programme saying it would “do absolutely nothing” to help the global search to find her and could even hinder it.
PRAYER MEETING CANCELLED

An annual prayer gathering to remember the world’s most famous missing child on Sunday has already been cancelled because of the coronavirus crisis.

Kate and Gerry have been forced to axe the popular annual service for the first time but are still asking local villagers and well-wishers to come together remotely to mark the poignant occasion.

The family will be sharing prayers and readings online as they spend the day behind closed doors at their home.

Normally they walk a mile from their house to the village war memorial, where over the past years many supporters have congregated for the informal outdoor event.

A candle still burns around the clock as a beacon of hope for Maddie.

Maddie’s great uncle, Brian Kennedy, 80, said: “Present circumstances make our usual gathering impossible so it will all have to be done at long distance.

“We are asking members of our own churches here in Rothley as well as some others to remember the day with some short prayers and readings via email and the various internet sites."

British cops have requested new funding to continue the search for Maddie which is set to be approved by the Home Office.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “It is good news that the Met Police are seeking a new budget to continue the hunt for Madeleine. Kate and Gerry are greatly encouraged that officers still believe there is active work left to be done.

“Whilst an active investigation is ongoing it gives them hope that one day they will find out what happened to their daughter after all these years. The Met has a iron will determination to find the answers Kate and Gerry so desperately want.”

 So when exactly was the 13th Anniversary that you correctly say, has passed then Trace?

Post up a photoshopped pic pf them with a silly slogan - they go whinging to the press

But go to the police making accusations of paedophillia within their group of friends, accuse them of setting up a bogus PI company in the Halkyn Mountains, or suggest that Madeleine died four days before they reported her missing - complete silence.

We don't need a statement analyst to work this out but I would love to hear Peter Hyatts' take on this behaviour.

Trolls have photoshopped photos of Madeleine McCann with the NHS slogan "stay at home, save lives." Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, are reportedly disgusted by the cruel dig, which made rounds of the internet just days after the 13th anniversary of the child's disappearance, The Sun reports.

The post infers that Madeleine is dead and that her parents are to blame for her disappearance during a family holiday in Portugal.

The original photo is that of Kate, 52, and Gerry, 51, holding a picture of their missing daughter during one of their public appeals. It has been photoshopped to show them holding a placard bearing the coronavirus lockdown slogan.

"Kate and Gerry are appalled that someone could stoop this low," a family friend said. “To mock them like this is callous and offensive and at a time when lives are tragically being lost due to coronavirus makes it even worse."

“They try to avoid social media for this very reason. The trolling has been going on for nearly 13 years and they find it despicable," they added.

Kate and Gerry both work for the NHS, which is being applauded across the UK for fighting on the frontlines amid the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the mum-of-three, the abuse they faced has been “shocking, striking, and quite hard to get your head around.”

This comes just months an online troll, posing as Maddie, attacked the couple for eating out at a restaurant. The troll posted a photo on Facebook of Kate and Gerry at a restaurant in Scotland in November last year, writing, "Mum and dad are closer than I thought."

The informal outdoor event is usually conducted at the village war memorial, which is nearly a mile from the McCanns' residence.

Nonetheless, a candle still burns 24x7 as a beacon of hope for locating Maddie someday.

Lest they forget..

Once they asked the public to help and the old envelopes stuffed with money were accepted there was no way that the public would not speak out at any opportunity.

Get over it.  Their feelings are hurt again.

Families the world over are grieving for loved ones taken from them through no fault of their own and they are appalled at someone poking fun.    Diddums.  Suck it up and ignore it, stop looking for sympathy because there are millions not knowing how their own lives are going to pan out,  MILLIONS ON THE BREAD LINE with no stuffed envelopes to accept and no money to pay THEIR MORTGAGES. 

Will they really care about these two and their hurt, appalled feelings.

At least we wont see any photos of them for a while at the races with ME LORD.

In fairness to Ms Kandohla, I doubt the comment was an admission or slip of the tongue.  I think she was picking-up on a previous report about the Rothley War Memorial service, hence the 'just days after the 13th anniversary'.

Not that it matters much, Ms Kandohla's not renowned for portraying a true picture of anything McCann related.

The McCanns v Fritzl, that's very clever.

They have a credible cause to cancel this time but haven't the last 3 or 4 events been cancelled, work commitments, fathers health and so on?

Meanwhile, thousands of decent folk across the world have missed the funeral of their loved ones/friends;  have been forced to cancel their weddings;  have been prevented from celebrating their own or family/friends anniversary celebrations; have been prevented from attending their regular place of worship;  live in fear of the health of their new born child.

Still, who cares about them - just as long as the McCanns get their five minutes more fame.

To say nothing of the thousands of people across the world who have been financially and socially ruined by this fictitious charade.

Is Professor McCann still in employment with the NHS?  Is the missus still ambassador for the Missing People Charity?

Have they still got three quarters of a million £ stashed away in the Find Madeleine Fund for a rainy day?

Try thinking of someone else for a change Messrs McCann - you can start with your missing daughter, then move outwards.  Never know what you might fund find!

Public comments published by the tabloids don't help the situation, they play right into the hands of team McCann.

I was reading through some of the comments a couple of days ago, apart from thinking Gurney was holding her own well against an angry mob, I don't think she was saying that the DVDs of the PJ files are erroneous but the translation thereof can't be relied upon.  I know this reasoning has been presented hundreds of times over the years by one faction,  so has been assumed total reliance on the translated files as indisputable factual information by another faction.

I have to say, I've also had many questions about the file translations over the past years. Even the slightest error can completely alter the context - why else the need for professional translators and/or interpreters on matters of a very serious nature?

It's not something for the casual bi-linguist to take-on as a hobby - at least nothing as serious as a police investigation into a missing child.  Admittedly I use the PJ file translations as a guide to the official investigation but I do try to weigh it up against other corroborating documentation and cross referencing - just to be sure!

You can't say Gurney doesn't try, whatever her connection with the extended McCann family, albeit a voice in the dark .... a misguided force.  If she wants to believe it's her choice rightly or wrongly.

Judging by some of the comments, I quite understand why they are referred to as trolls!  They certainly don't help the situation for serious McCann sceptics .... like CMOMM.

Onwards and upwards ....

Sounds like Donal MacIntyre's whacky theory



1) Highly organised.

2) There were at least 2 perpetrators.

3) The kidnappers had prior access to the layout of the flat here in 5a before the kidnap.

4) These were men who were well versed in the art of house breaking and these men also had an ability to clean a crime scene.


Critical to this investigation is the timing. There was 3-5 minutes for the kidnappers to perpetrate this crime. Consider the pressure the kidnappers were under.

1) They had to stay hidden in the apartment in the company of Gerry McCann for up to 10 minutes.

2) They had to subdue Madeleine McCann, a notorious bad sleeper and bring her out of the apartment.

3) They had to bring her out of a small window for which they required at least 2 perpetrators.
4) They had to escape the vicinity of the complex and the entire area without suspicion.
In addition, highly likely they cleaned the crime scene and this required great planning and precision and could not have been the work of an opportunist drifter.

You can't tell me he wasn't trying hard not to p*ss himself laughing ^^^
