DCI Nicola Wall
I wonder how much time DCI Wall has actually spent on Op. Grange in the last ten months since it was scaled back?
According to the old Vogue article:
‘She usually has about six or seven live cases at any one time, and prides herself on her investigative speed; she is only partially joking when she attributes her low media profile to the fact "we solve cases so quickly nobody gets involved…"
These arrests took two days, but not so successful or speedy with the McCann case.
Gary Scott murder: Man jailed for life for stabbing teenager
21 July 2016 From the section [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
A man who argued with a teenager on a basketball court before stabbing him to death has been given a life sentence.
Adrian Carpenter, 30, was ordered to serve at least 23 years for the murder of 17-year-old Gary Scott in Finsbury Park, north London, in December 2015.
Jermaine Reid, 28, who fled from the scene with Carpenter, was found guilty of manslaughter and drug offences and jailed for 12 years.
Gary's family said "too much young life is being lost".
Gary, known as GJ and from Tottenham, had been at a friend's 18th birthday party in Enfield before meeting up with Carpenter and Reid at about 21:00 GMT, Woolwich Crown Court heard.
He was found in Marquis Road, Finsbury Park, at about 23:00 on 1 December with multiple stab wounds.
The teenager was taken to a central London hospital but later died.
Carpenter and Reid, both from Victoria Road, Stroud Green, fled the scene and were arrested two days later having been traced to an address in Essex.
They were interviewed by police but gave no comment to all questions asked. Carpenter later admitted carrying a knife and stabbing Gary, although he denied murder.
Det Ch Insp Nicola Wall, who led the investigation, said: "This underlines the danger and risk involved in carrying knives. A young man has tragically lost his life."
Gary had been studying mechanics at college and was described as "a good boy" by his mother Annette Gill.
His family said: "Our kids should be burying us, not us burying our kids."

Very interesting. I checked everywhere just a few days back to see what she was up to, including the police news website, and got nothing. She must be getting fairly close to retirement.Doug D wrote:I wonder how much time DCI Wall has actually spent on Op. Grange in the last ten months since it was scaled back?

DCI Nichola Wall
DCI Nichola has to run things by Sir Bernard Hogan Howe, you know the one who has just decided to operate an investigation of "Hate Mail" costing £1.70 Million pounds, which Gerry had asked for in regard to the Dossier handed into Sir Bernard about T's accessing Madeleine's parents IP address sending them Hate mail?
This of course cannot be done retrospectively for the "Very Offensive"comments posted to the Sweepyface@ account that Martin **nt had succinctly exposed to the World via his Bosses TV station,Sky Corporation,Rupert Murdoch you understand, down to Police Person's allocation of time to each case?

Re: DCI Nicola Wall
As reported elsewhere, Operation Grange seems to have vanished off the face of ‘Met Police on-line’ world.
However DCI Wall has clearly been keeping herself busy elsewhere, nicking at least two out of this four over the last year or so.
She took over the reins from Redwood on 22nd December 2014, so has been on the job for nearly four years, which is now longer than his stint in charge.
(The ‘investigative review’ under Redwood started on 14th June 2011, becoming an investigation in July 2013, so he was in charge for three years six months.)
Clearly hasn’t nicked anyone (under OG) ‘before they knew they were nicked’ yet, so what exactly has she achieved in all this time?

Three jailed for fatal stabbing of new father
Jun 25, 2018 19:53 BST
Three males who stabbed a new father to death have been jailed for his murder.
[A] Jhon Berhane, 18 (24.12.99), of no fixed abode, Dillon Zambon, 20 (22.02.98), of Leirum Street, and a 16-year-old boy [C] were jailed at the Old Bailey today, Monday, 25 June.
Berhane [A] was sentenced to life, with a minimum of 21 years for the murder of Nashon Esbrand.
Zambon was sentenced to life with a minimum of 21 years.
[C] was handed a 12 year sentence for the murder.
Berhane and Zambon were found guilty of murder following a trial at the Old Bailey on Monday, 26 March. [C] pleaded guilty to murder on Wednesday, 7 March during the trial.
The court heard how on the afternoon of Thursday, 24 August 2017 Nashon Esbrand, 27, of Upper Holloway, had been visiting his parents address in Islington, N1 with his girlfriend and his two-week-old baby girl.
After dropping his girlfriend and baby back at their home, he then set-off to return to his parent's address to pick up his car.
However, en route back to the address Nashon came across two males, one later identified as Dillon Zambon.
It is believed that one of these two males were part of the group that had been previously threatening Nashon.
Nashon was witnessed being chased along Essex Road into Mitchison Road then by a larger group of males on bicycles. Nashon called his father and told him he was being chased. Nashon’s father left the address to find his son and flagged down officers in a police car to assist.
Nashon was cornered on the steps of an address in Mitchison Road by the group before being stabbed. This happened just a few yards away from his parents’ address.
Police were called at approximately 18:50hrs to Mitchison Road, N1, after being informed by a member of the public that a man had been stabbed. The officers, who were already looking for Nashon with his father, responded to the call and arrived at the address.
The London Ambulance Service attended and the victim was taken to an east London hospital but sadly died at 02:30hrs on Friday, 25 August from his injuries.
A post-mortem examination discovered three knife wounds, one to the edge of his right thigh, one on the rear side of the upper left leg and one superficial stab wound to the right side of his torso.
The cause of death given was stab wounds and severe loss of blood.
Detectives from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) launched a murder investigation. A number of key eyewitnesses were spoken to and a vast amount of CCTV from the area was reviewed, ultimately resulting in the positive identification of Berhane, Zambon and the 16-year-old youth all involved in the attack.
All three were arrested in early September 2017 and subsequently charged with Nashon's murder.
Nashon cared for his mother Princess, who has a chronic heart condition.
In a statement, she said: "Nashon was my youngest child. I was extremely close to Nashon due to the fact that he was my carer. My son was like my friend. He was just everything to me. We were very, very close.
"Nashon was murdered on the street where I live, only a matter of yards from my front door. When I leave the house, I become anxious and have panic attacks. I have lived in Mitchison Road for the last 13 years and now I no longer want to live in my house. It has too many memories. I think about his last words which were ‘don’t let my Mum see me.’ It is so awful, I just can’t get over it."
Nashon’s father Desmond Esbrand said in a statement: "Due to the fact that my son has been murdered my life has changed totally. Nashon was the perfect son to me and his mother.
"It has affected the family totally and has left a void. Our lives have become a constant living memorial to Nashon. It is very sad that I will not have the opportunity to watch him grow in to a mature man. As well, Nashon will not have the opportunity to watch his own child growing up and that his daughter will be denied the opportunity to have a father and to know her father.
"My life is just filled with sorrow due to the nature of his death. It would have been a lot easier if his death had been due to an accident or illness. I will never stop asking the question ‘why?’ because I believe that it was such a waste and unnecessary. Nashon was my only son."
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall, who led the investigation, said: "The suspects, all riding pedal cycles, pursed Nashon through the streets, they caught up with him virtually outside the house where his parents lived and fatally stabbed him. Today three young people have been jailed for murdering Nashon, a much loved son, brother and father. I hope the sentencing has provided Nashon’s family with some comfort and reassured the wider community of our determination to bring offenders to justice, to this end we continue our pursuit of all those involved in the murder of Nashon."
+ Berhane also received the following sentences as a result of another trial involving the kidnapping and torturing of a man in August 2017. This case is not related to that of the Nashon Esbrand murder.
- 12 years for kidnap
- 6 years for blackmail
- 4 years for GBH
- 3 years for robbery
These sentences will run concurrently with the 21 year sentence for murder.

Operation Grange disappeared when the workforce was reduced to only four back in October (that wretched month again) 2015, that's three years ago.
It carried on in name only. The grant allocated by the Home Office since that date must have only covered salaries and associated expenses, mileage allowance, overtime, luncheon vouchers.
Who do they think they're fooling?

Got to be a little bit more than ‘name only’.
We know that five trips were made to Portugal in 2017, split between March (3 officers) & May (2 officers) and also that the funding of £85k made in March 2017 was incorrect as they had ‘forgotten’ about £70k odd that was also needed, but I can’t for the life of me remember what was said about that extra and I can’t find it anywhere at the moment.
March 2017 was also when it was reported that they were ‘closing in on the kidnapper’. Whatever happened to that? Must have let him escape, so they could come up with a few more ‘final throws of the dice’.
