Spanish man says he saved his daughter from Madeleine McCann's alleged kidnapper

In May 2007, Madeleine McCann, a 4 year-old British girl on holiday with her parents in the Algarve, disappeared from her hotel room. She was never found, but a Galician man claims to have saved his own daughter from Scotland Yard's chief suspect in the ongoing case.
In 2013, Scotland Yard issued an image of the suspected kidnapper, who was near the scene of Madeleine McCann's disappearance at the time. Scotland Yard continues to investigate the case, which at various times has also seen the parents implicated.
Now a 45-year-old man from the Galician town of Mino, on the northern Portuguese-Spanish border, claims his daughter was nearly abducted by the same man in November 2001, six years before Madeleine McCann's disappearance, at a hotel in the central Portuguese town of Abrantes, according to a report in regional news platform La Voz de Galicia.
Referring to the mocked-up image of McCann's kidnapper, broadcast globally in 2013, the father – identified by La Voz de Galicia only as Andrés – recalls how the man approached his daughters (13 and 5) and complemented them. Later that evening, his daughter called him and asked if he had entered their hotel room. He hadn't and the only other guest at the hotel was McCann's suspected kidnapper.
"I don't know if that man kidnapped Madeleine, but for me he is the man who tried to take my daughter," Andrés told the northern Spanish daily.
Andrés says he complained to reception but that they told him the man was "a regular guest who likes children but doesn't hurt them." He says he was interviewed by Spain's Policía Nacional and later the UK's Scotland Yard, who promised to call again if the new evidence led to any breakthroughs. They never called back.
The BBC's panorama produced a documentary on the ten-year anniversary of McCann's disappearance.

I don't know. It was said to have been placed at the Ocean Club reception shortly after Madeleine reportedly 'disappeared', I'm not aware of anything to verify, probably an internet myth. If there is any truth in it, I shouldn't think went down well with the Ocean Club management.Jill Havern wrote:What date did they put that bucket out Verdi, do you know?
Could've be a media setting to tug the public heart strings or could've been a hoax created by some prankster. I don't think the latter because the handwriting is similar to Kate McCann's, it figures she wrote the begging notice.
Plus there is what looks like good quality wristbands and solidarity bow type ribbons on the floor in front of the bouquet. That really does stink of a media photoshoot set-up.

Re: Spanish man says he saved his daughter from Madeleine McCann's alleged kidnapper
It's coming up to that time of year again and once again the mccanns never let us down.
We have the ancient old story of msan claims his daughter was almost abducted a la Maddie 6 years previously which he claims he was reminded of by one the two e fits that cropped up a couple of years back that looked like gerry.
old news rehashed for the 11th anniversary.
Always an alleged sighting (cue smirks from gerry) or an alleged almost abduction rehashed by some person who was reminded about it years down the line by seeing an e fit/newspaper story/news report concerning the approaching anniversary or suddenly remembered it despite not reporting it to the local police at the time (how convenient)
Or..
We have reports that various news agencies are willing to throw megabucks at the gruesome twosome for an interview or apparently interview in their home and a view of Maddie''s bedroom/shrine.
Supposedly refused, probably because they would have toi turf whoever out the room, make it up as per a three year old and try and remember who they gave all her presents and clothing to in order to make it look like it has been left untouched.
We then have the story that they have been asked by the UK police not to do any stories/interviews on the grounds it might interfere with the investigation!
This is complete and utter b*ll*cks.
Innocent parents would have nothing to fear about speaking out.
Nothing on earth would stop them calling out to their daughter to let her know they are still looking for her, telling her to try and escape, to be strong and calling out to her alleged abductor to let her go.
For the past almost 11 years, despite Portuguese laws about judicial secrecy, the problem has been getting the mccanns to shut up.
Although they may not have said anything about the case publicly, they leaked info to family, friends and their spokespoodle clarrie to paint them as the victims not Maddie.
It became all about them, what they were feeling, how they were suffering yada, yada, yada.
UK police cannot prosecute them and their chums for homicide, concealment of a corpse and filing a false police report as thatcomes under Portuguese juristiction.
They can however prosecute them in relation to the fund, obtaining money and services by deception, perjury and whatever other financial shenanigans they can think of.
Police in other countries where they set up donation boxes or that dratted PayPal button in a variety of currencies.
Guilty parents will be advised by their lawyers to say nothing on the grounds of self incrimination, especially using the process of free editing including exhibit 1 kate's bewk.
I bet her lawyers were so happy when they learned their advice not to do it or release it was completely ignored in favor of the mighty pound/dollar/currency of choice, the chance to claim she is a published author and her hours of fame with interviews, carefully posed saintly pictures and general lookie me attitude.
This is just like groundhog day, the same thing every year which we can pretty much predict what will happen, when and where.
I suspect they felt quite put out that Royal Kate had a baby boy which knocked them off the front page then a few days later announced his name and amongst all that the farce surround baby Alfie, his parents , rent a mob, Italy and the Pope and germany tossed in for good measure.
How best to make the front pages again, well having a sighting might not work but an alleged abduction, especially coming up to holiday season might do the trick especially as they claim they are now being asked to stay silent.
Innocent parents act a certain specific way.
They cannot and will not be silenced in their calls to their missing child.
They have nothing to fear from the police who would never tell innocent parents not to call out or remind the public of their missing child.
Guilty parents act a certain specific way.
They refuse to call out to their missing child or the alleged abductor.
They have everything to fear from the police who would encourage them to speak out as they would leak incriminating language which would become evidence for the prosecution.
Why would police ask you not to call out to your child or the abductor especially after all this time?
If it were your child, could the police silence you if you were innocent?
Lawyers would advise you to say nothing.
Your co conspirators would strongly tell you to shut up before you dropped everyone in it.
Your other half would also strongly advise you to shut up, especially if you open mouth before engaging brain.
What is going on in the background that has caused this news?
