The most recent accounts filed last month covering the financial year 2015-2016 show a balance of £714,800. Of this total £547,226 is classed as “restricted funds” having been siphoned into a separate account. Accounts for the financial year 2016-17 do not have to be filed until the end of December – to be made public in mid May next year (2018).
It is understood that neither Kate nor Gerry, a world renowned cardiologist, draw any living costs from the Fund – although it once paid their mortgage for two months while they remained in Portugal as suspects in their daughter’s disappearance in 2007.
A McCann pal told The Sun Online: “Some of the savings have been moved into fixed asset account, like a breakaway fund, which financial experts have advised them to so.
"It can be used for purchases like buying a house or building equipment.
"But right now the focus if on using it towards fees for a new round of private investigators if needed.”
Former GP Kate and now medical worker and heart doctor Gerry, both 49, of Rothley, Leics, cling onto a glimmer of hope that Maddie could still be alive.
She would now be aged 14 and as The Sun Online revealed earlier this week would be sitting her GCSEs at a secondary school which still holds a place for her.
Maddie’s desperate parents took on three different firms of private eyes over four years before Op Grange was launched in May 2011 on orders of the then Prime Minister David Cameron and to the cost of the British taxpayer.
The Home Office yesterday revealed they have still not got any new request for additional resources from the Met Police.
A spokesperson told The Sun Online: “To date we have not received any request for extra funding. That doesn’t mean we may not receive one.
“Scotland Yard can request whatever special grant they want but must justify what the money will be spent, with a specific breakdown, and we will assess it and say ‘yes or no.’
The Spokesman said that because it is “such a high profile case” the decision may rest with Home Secretary Amber Rudd instead of the Special Grants Committee.
Firstly, they employed Spaniards Metodo 3 in October 2007 but sacked them when M3 boss Francisco boasted: “Madeleine will be home by Christmas.”
Next came private investigators Oakley International, an A-team of former British special forces soldiers and US security agents run by Brit Kevin Halligen, from March to September 2008.
But they were ditched when Halligen was later exposed as a fraudster and jailed.
He is alleged to have fleeced the Maddie Fund out of £150,000 with bogus invoices and inflated expenses.
A third team was hired after Portuguese police shelved their investigation in summer 2008 were Alpha Investigations run by ex-RUC officer David Edgar and former Merseyside detective Arthur Cowley.
But they stepped down after nearly three years when the Met Police came on board to the cost of the public purse and not the Maddie Fund.

Re: MADDIE COFFERS‘Find Madeleine McCann’ fund stands at £750k as parents Kate and Gerry vow to pay for private detectives after cops end hunt
Why wouldn't every penny be spent on the search for Maddie until she is found?
Why would any expert advise a breakaway fund whilst little Maddie is still missing?
If Maddie were to be found IIRC there was a statement some time ago that any money still in the fund would be used to look for other missing people but maybe I am wrong?

Don't forget to sandwich in the money given to the Limited Company by News of the World who promised public donations would go to good causes with charitable status. The McCanns accepted this money into their 'fund' and no mention of it has been made - indeed the money hasn't been directed to the appropriate charities in the interest of transparency of course.

How much of that £750k will they have left after they've paid GA's court costs?
Probably not enough to buy property, although probably enough to buy building equipment. Maybe Gerry could buy another couple of spades - one for Kate and another one for Tracey, like the one he's using in Verdi's pic.

What might those be, Tracey? Legal restrictions that would force the Fund to comply with Charities Act requirements?

Do they have any intention of paying Gonçalo Amaral's costs? I somehow doubt it. I wonder if a Portuguese court has the jurisdiction to force them to pay.Get'emGonçalo wrote:How much of that £750k will they have left after they've paid GA's court costs?

Re: MADDIE COFFERS‘Find Madeleine McCann’ fund stands at £750k as parents Kate and Gerry vow to pay for private detectives after cops end hunt
Plebgate, quite correct;
The amendment filed at Companies House 17th December 2011, when they dropped off the ‘to provide financial assistance to the family’ bit:
Objects
2B The objects of the Foundation are
2B 1 1 To secure the safe return to her family of Madeleine McCann who was abducted in Praia da Luz, Portugal on Thursday 3rd May 2007; and
2B 1 2 To procure that Madeleine's abduction is thoroughly investigated and that her abductors, as well as those who played or play any part in assisting them, are identified and brought to justice
2B 2 If the above objects are fulfilled then the objects of the Foundation shall be to pursue such purposes in similar cases arising in the United Kingdom, Portugal or elsewhere.
………………………………………………………
As for Tracey, where does she dig up this rubbish?
‘The most recent accounts filed last month’
Accounts have to be filed by 31st December and if filed at the last minute, as has been the practice, are ‘public’ from early January.
‘Accounts for the financial year 2016-17 do not have to be filed until the end of December – to be made public in mid May next year (2018)’
No, the ‘Confirmation Statement’, which has no useful information of any sort, has to be filed in May.
‘A McCann pal told The Sun Online: “Some of the savings have been moved into fixed asset account, like a breakaway fund, which financial experts have advised them to so.
"It can be used for purchases like buying a house or building equipment.’
Quite how buying a house or building equipment (are we talking about a Mark 2 version of the hair locator here?) ties in with any search is beyond me.
Have Tracey and KM fallen out maybe?

Re: MADDIE COFFERS‘Find Madeleine McCann’ fund stands at £750k as parents Kate and Gerry vow to pay for private detectives after cops end hunt
Many moons ago I made several comments on the forum as to the use of the Limited Company's funds.
In particular, I spoke of using the Fund to ensure the safety of the twins and placing them in private education to remove them from the spotlight. After all, the Fund is there to assist the family and why would the public object to the twins having a private education away from the media at the expense of donations.
The Lisbon damages trial caused Kate McCann to spout that her son had heard nasty things about his parents by Goncalo Amaral on a school bus radio. No-one to my knowledge has ever heard this radio broadcast - despite the McCann's media monitoring effort no such tangible evidence was produced in the Lisbon court.
This 'trial' brought on by the McCanns could have been held in camera. I believe from what I've read that Goncalo Amaral pointed this out but the McCanns went for maximum publicity. That's my understanding.
In the last few days, Kandohla of the Sun has revealed the name of the state school attended by the McCann twins which I consider to be cruel and despicable not only to Madeleine's siblings but to all pupils in that school - the school Madeleine never attended and which is now tainted by the disappearance of Madeleine.
Kandohla has now produced a controversial statement that funds have been siphoned into a separate account. Note the word 'siphoned' because it's an unusual term to use for monies legitimately earmarked and legitimately managed.
Also note that there hasn't been a single mention in the UK media of the court cost repayment in Lisbon.
