8 year old wanders off in Ramsgate but is found a few hours later completely unharmed.
If only parents/guardians kept a closer eye on the kids, eh ?
The above wouldn't be in The Sun.
Move along now, nothing to see here

So the news is a child (or kid, as the Sun would have it) wasn't abducted from PdL . Just like Madeleine, then.

Sorry but this whiffs of set up. The anonymous child (who varies in age from 7 to 10 years) was reported missing after 12.30 p.m. and brought into a police station in Lagos at 1 p.m. (half an hour later) by an anonymous man who found him in LUZ. Why not hand him over where he found him? Who puts a lost child in a car and drives him for miles? In that half hour the Portuguese allegedly had border and sea alerts, and a major search procedure in place!! The Sun is clearly trying to imply that the saintly McCanns are to be credited with the increased amber-alert style responses in dozy Portugal. Then there is the bizarre claim that the boy's parents are bracing themselves in case they are charged with child neglect. The Sun must know this is arrant nonsense as, under Portuguese law, there would have to be intent to abandon. It smacks of trying to portray the Portuguese as hasty and unreasonable in their attitude to parental responsibility.

An opportunity to get the Mccanns into the papers, IMO. The Daily Mail had quotes from the esteemed couple and Clarence ( still around, then?) yesterday.Phoebe wrote:Sorry but this whiffs of set up. Would like to inform readers that today, in the Algarve, at around 19:30, I approached 4 GNR officers (2 on bikes and 2 on foot) and asked them question about jurisdictions between the various authorities in reference with this case which I had, and will talk about them when I have to time to write about this.
None of them knew about the missing boy in Luz. Repeat, at 19:30 today 4 GNR officers on duty by the beach did not know anything about any missing British boy.
In fact they appeared to be quite surprised when I told them that a British boy had gone missing in Praia da Luz earlier today.
All were very polite and answered fully all my questions.

Re: British kid goes missing on Praia da Luz beach just metres from where Maddie McCann vanished
This is another load of nonsense. To think that you can just have a random chat with GNR officers is bizarre. To continue that two of them were on bikes and two on foot is taking the proverbial (the GNR are cycling and walking, don't have access to cars and have a little chat with people who ask them questions - and when you ask them anything they know nothing). To continue to say you'll talk about them when you have more time is idiotic trolling.Keitei wrote:Not posted to blog but on Facebook

No trolling at all. Textusa is on vacation without a computer, we shall wait for her blog.
As for chatting to the PJ or the GNR they recently gave clearance to Isabelle McFadden to go through to the office of the PJ, watch her Tweets.

So if I went on holiday to Australia to visit my family I'd be able to speak to the Australian police about a high profile case in their country so I can blab it all over Twitter and Facebook?
Forgive me for being blunt but this is a load of old hogwash.

Missing from the beach, only a few metres from where Madeleine 'vanished'?
Funny that - I always thought that Madeleine 'vanished' from apartment 5a, the Ocean Club complex.
No comparison. Leave the boy and his family alone and stop dragging Madeleine's name into every incident involving a missing child. Please, enough of this crazy nonsense.

I've just taken a look at the link to view Isabelle McFadden's tweets and I've entered the twilight zone....you know that 'I could tell you but if I told you I'd have to kill you' kind of thing but 'I'll reveal something when I have time'...here's a titbit because I took a couple of photos whilst I was visiting my family in Portugal who from Keitei's memory are respected attorneys in this country.Keitei wrote:You are entitled to your opinion of course.

Seriously?
That's the GNR? The Portuguese police who work in silence? Posing for the media?
Pull the other one Looks like another staged event to me.
Re: British kid goes missing on Praia da Luz beach just metres from where Maddie McCann vanished
The parents could face charges of child abandonment? Highly unlikely imo as the first thing their solicitor would ask is why Mr & Mrs had never been hauled back to possibly face similar charges. Now there's a question eh?
I do wish the press would give it a rest.

PRAIA DA LUZ HERO Good Samaritans who found missing Brit boy in Maddie McCann resort say he found lad, 7, ‘crying and desperate’
German expats Wulf and Angelika Durholt said they found the young British boy
By Gerard Couzens
30th July 2017, 11:08 am Updated: 30th July 2017, 12:39 pm
THE couple who helped reunite a British boy with his parents after he went missing in the same holiday resort as Madeleine McCann have spoken for the first time of the moment they found the “crying and desperate” youngster.
The seven-year-old boy’s frantic parents called police after he got ahead of them during a stroll into the town of Praia da Luz on Thursday morning.
Officers responded immediately by preparing roadblocks and mobilising specialist investigators as they began door-to-door inquiries.
They were stood down after just over an hour when the drama had a happy ending and a man initially described by police as a 65-year-old British man took the unnamed youngster into a police station in Lagos near Praia da Luz around 1pm on Thursday.
The boy posed with officers who helped in the search before his dad took him back to see his joyful mum.
Last night it emerged the man police described as a Brit pensioner was actually a German expat who along with his wife took care of the youngster and calmed him down before phoning cops.
Wulf and Angelika Durholt said they found the British boy “desperate and crying.”
Wulf, 80, told Portuguese daily Correio da Manha: “The tears were streaming down his cheeks and he was crying near to our home.
“We went to get him, took him back to our house and gave him water to calm him down.”
Angelika, 70, added: “He was very sad because he couldn’t find his parents.”
The couple said they took him to the PSP police station in Lagos after a failed search to find the place where the boy’s parents were staying.
Angelika told the Portuguese paper: “We did what was normal in a situation like that. I’m glad it had a happy ending.”
The youngster went missing around 11.40am on Thursday after getting ahead of his parents as they walked down a hill towards Praia da Luz known locally as Ponta Negra hill.
Police sources said they spent nearly an hour looking for him before calling 999 at 12.30pm.
The alarm sparked a major police response, with specialist criminal investigation officers mobilised.
An all-ports alert was sounded and police roadblocks began to be set up. Locals also reported police from Portugal’s GNR force were making door-to-door inquiries in the area.
Maritime Police were also asked to get involved and carried out searches near Praia da Luz beach.
The search, set to be stepped up with the arrival of a specialist team from Lisbon, was called off around 1pm after the youngster was taken into the police station.
Authorities confirmed afterwards police would be reporting the episode to prosecutors so they could decide whether to take any action against the British boy’s parents, as required by law, although insiders said it was highly unlikely the episode would result in any court action.
Praia da Luz is still synonymous with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, then three, from her family holiday apartment on May 3 2007.
Scotland Yard and a Portuguese police team are still probing the mystery more than ten years on.

Re: British kid goes missing on Praia da Luz beach just metres from where Maddie McCann vanished
What a load of nonsense. The anonymous boy was originally claimed to have been found by a 65 year old British man - now it's an 80 year old German. They found him, lost and hysterical in Luz, but as they could n't find the hotel he was staying in, they decided to drive all the way to Lagos with him. Wouldn't it have been easier to ask the first hotel they went to to phone the police and report him found, or easier still, do it themselves? In the half hour or so from when his parents reported him missing to the police (did they also have to drive to Lagos to do so?) until he was found, we are supposed to infer that the Portuguese so regret their lax handling of Madeleine's case that they launched a massive land and sea search for him. Utter rubbish.

They somehow evaded the roadblocks on the way to Lagos Police Station.
