Was Madeleine McCann Murdered?
Scotland Yard Seems To Think So .
Is Madeleine McCann alive or dead after all these years?
Scotland Yard officials have always operated, publicly, under the idea that she may be found alive, even against evidence produced by detectives in Portugal. The latest news on the case, however, indicates that there could be a shift in what they believe. The Mirror reports that Operation Grange officers with Scotland Yard will travel to Portugal soon to grill more suspects. However, the line of questioning involves looking for the girl’s killer.
Agents are expected to ask at least seven people if they are responsible for the murder of the missing British child. If police are asking these kinds of questions, then they must be leaning toward the idea that Madeleine was slain. But are they quizzing the right suspects in her presumed murder?
Madeleine vanished over seven years ago, and over the course of this case there have been many so called suspects, including the girl’s parents. Kate and Gerry McCann have long been targets of suspicion, especially since they were declared arguidos (suspects) back in the beginning of this case. Even though they are no longer considered suspects, there has been no proven evidence that anybody entered their rental apartment to abduct just one of their children.
The Daily Mail reports that this case has cost taxpayers more than £8 Million over the course of more than seven years. The past three years alone have cost at least £2 Million per year. Nonetheless, officials have cut back on the number of agents included in Operation Grange, which is indicative of their intent to close this case soon — hopefully with the arrest of the true culprits responsible for Madeleine’s presumed demise.
According to Goncalo Amaral, who was one of the original detectives in the search for Madeleine McCann, the parents should be the prime suspects. In fact, most of the original evidence in the case points to their involvement, which has led Amaral to believe that they covered up an accidental death of their young daughter. This wouldn’t be a murder, but if they have truly spent the past seven years going along with the idea that some intruder stole their child, then there is clearly some level of criminality taking place. Of course, Scotland Yard’s latest direction seems to indicate the idea that Madeleine was maliciously murdered — perhaps by one of seven British expats.
This case continues to be an international mystery, but hopefully Operation Grange solves that mystery before another seven years passes.
"there has been no proven evidence that anybody entered their rental apartment to abduct just one of their children."
And the McCanns, their T7 'friends' and 38 full time 'Maddie Cops', after 3 1/2 YEARS 'investigation' certainly have NOT PROVEN, NOT PROVIDED, a scintilla of 'evidence' of an 'abduction' by anyone, anywhere, have they?

Gerry McCann: "There's no evidence that Madeleine is dead and there's no evidence to implicate us in her death"

Kate McCann: "and whether that involves reopening the case, ( of her Madeleine's 'abduction'), OR NOT, it doesn't matter.."

It does make me laugh to read that SY will ask 7 separate people if they killed MM.
As if SY are that clueless that they know she was murdered but can only narrow their suspect list to a mere 7 people!

Re: How 'unhelpful and hurtful' will this 'article' be to the McCanns?
So we now have Scotland Yard's finest telling the world who the suspects are
AND
Telling us what the question is !
Really ?
Scenario
Fly out to Portugal for the umpteenth time
Book into good hotel.
Meet local Police officers
Have decent dinner
Prop up bar until the small hours (Yes, I was a cop ! On one trip to Aberdeen we stayed up all night, and had porridge at 7am, before getting the early train home again. Still can't remember why we went in the first place ! )
Go to Police station interview room
See first suspect
"Did you kill her ?
"No."
"Oh, sorry, you are free to leave."
Repeat a further SIX times
Go for a long lunch
Fly home.

INQUISITR?
New kid on the block?
Unaware of the House of [strike]Cards[/strike] Doom, where all previous Doubters, Detractors & Trolls (DDTs) have been disposed of?
Oh, and PM: would you risk burying an otherwise brilliant carreer in the Force trying to let things fritter away in the manner you've just described?
One of AR/SY, perhaps. Two of them: maybe. But all 38 coppers plus the six civilians (forensics most likely) not ever.

No, of course not.
I know it does not go down well with some, but I would trust 38, even if I did not trust 2.
In deed I find it astonishing that OG has NOT leaked before. I have only known one decent enquiry which didn't
An interesting suggestion from elsewhere is . .
If JT has spilled the beans and Ma Webster was not involved anyway, that leaves . . . ?

Re: How 'unhelpful and hurtful' will this 'article' be to the McCanns?
Of course, AR/SY cannot be perceived to suspect the Mecs a/o touch them with a 10 ft pole before they are 100% sure of having enough stuff on them to get one or more convictions.
If they as much as breathed a suspicion, the Mecs would be dead meat (not like poor Brenda, but figuratively speaking, mediawise, mind you!)
This investigation must be akin to trying to drive an articled lorry across a pool of mud filled with raw eggs, being aware you'll be crucified if you break even one of them.
My hat's off to AR/SY!
So far

I think SY and PJ have enough already but are finding out who wants to keep pleading 'not guilty' thus will get the book thoroughly thrown at them or those who wish to assist justice.
You're either in or out now...

The Inquisitr people obviously missed the two interviews earlier this year in which Bernard Hogan Howe referred to the case as a MURDER investigation.

I wonder if the trial is a red herring to take attention off the McCann's if they go to Portugal, next week? Could it be they are included in the list of those who are to be questioned by SY, next week?

Just as Pinkie thought it would be 'rather jolly fun' (owtte) to 'speculate which 'actors' might 'play' Ge££y and Hate 'in a movie'
I also think it might be a bit 'of jolly fun' to 'speculate' on what the other 252 'questions' might be, that DCI Mahogany, wants the 7 'suspects' to 'answer' at the interviews in Faro.
Q1: "So, what's your christian name, Robert?"
Q83: "Where did you get that mobile from, you were carrying at about 10pm, 3rd May, 2007, Mothercare or Kids'r'Us?"
Q137: "When you phoned that pizza takeaway place at 10pm, 3rd May 2007, from your mobile, was it pineapple or anchovies, you wanted as extra topping?"
Q201: "haven't you got lovely eyes?"
Q213: "You don't drive a big red tractor, do you?"
Q229: "When you phoned your mate, from your mobile, at about 10pm, 3rd May 2007, and said you thought you saw the 'missing' child's father carrying her towards the beach area, what did you mean by that?"
AND the one question you can answer:
Q252: "Do you smoke after sex?"
A: "I dunno, i've never looked, innit"

I reckon when they eventually pull the McCanns in for questioning, they need to be really cute in how they ask the questions.
For instance.
'Gerry. We know you are into football so here's a question for you. When Celtic ... WHERE ... became the ... DID ... first British ... YOU ... team to win ... DISPOSE OF ... the European cup ... MADELEINE'S ... where was the ... BODY ... match played? A big clue. You love going there to try to con money for yourself.'
'And Kate. Are you sure you weren't a dentist in a previous life? You've done nothing but lie through your teeth since Day 1.'

Does 253 questions to be asked of eleven people mean they are each going to be asked the same 23 questions?
This case is more bizarre each day.

Fact 1
Officers from Operation Grange, led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, are scheduled to fly to Faro on December 8.
Fact 2

@skymartinbrunt
#Madeleine Final legal arguments in the McCann £1m libel trial over ex-cop's book in Lisbon next week. Verdict expected in February.
Observation
Yet again, SY have timed their visit deliberately to coincide with the next phase of the libel trial.
Conclusion
This is a tactic that has been employed almost from the start to ensure maximum diversion in the UK media away from any bad publicity that might come from the trial. It allows SY to keep the whitewash closure very much in play.

In fact we were first told SY were going back to question Murat et al before Christmas.
We were then told this visit was deferred to the New Year, for some ludicrous reason - the investigator was off sick or something.
Suddenly, both the trial and the visit are to happen the same week, back to the dates of pre-Christmas and Andy is packing his suitcase again.
Why is it so necessay for SY to be in Portugal during hearing time ? Surely it is not just to detract media publicity from the trial ? Seems very expensive and extreme.

Maybe SY need to be in Lisbon to secretly attend the trial so they can actually learn some facts about the case and judge the Mc's reactions in court!
Would be easier to just read Amarals book, but they have a budget to spend on flights, beers and pizzas ;-)

Its irrelevant what questions the McCanns will be asked if ever further questioned by the authorities, be they British or Portuguese, because if they've got one iota of common sense, or even a second rate lawyer, they're answer will always remain the same, ie 'No comment.'Gaggzy wrote:

It makes not a scintilla of difference if one's interrogators are of the Inspector Clouseau variety or the most skilled inquisitors on the planet, if negated, they are as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. As Mitchell so poignantly remarked, 'It is for the police to prove their guilt, not for Kate and Gerry to prove their innocence.'
