If Gonçalo Amaral had not lodged his appeal against the injunction and brought the witnesses to court that he did, then the file of sightings would not have been discovered.

Maybe not - but I think we all already knew that many things were not or hadn't been investigated - but this could have been the push that was needed.

Yes and hopefully now that it is known that things weren't perhaps investigated as they should have been, it will be re-opened and investigated again by somebody not involved previously.

But I am sure I saw the parents on TV after the Lisbon hearing saying it didn't matter if the case was reopened or not. They want a review.

Now to me that smacks more of revenge than a desire for the official police to start the search again. Proving that mistakes were made, and by whom, will not find Madeleine, but reopening the investigation might.

The only way they are going to get anything from re opening the case is with a completely new team. Thats not going to happen as Pavia himself said the files were irrelevant and as far as I am aware he still has his job.
They need a review because they need a fresh pair of eyes who are not biased and who have not given up on potential evidence all because they are biased with NO evidence of proof that the Mccanns are involved.

They need to review to understand WHY Pavia is still thinking madeleine is dead although the prosecutor didnt find any evidence.

Fair enough, I suppose a review is better than nothing. Do you think a review would include a reconstruction?

I think if it was a new team then the Mccanns and friends would be more willing to help this time. However, if only the PJ had done this when requested in the very early days. Its important that it done quicckly while still fresh in everyones memories.

Do I think a reconstruction will help? no, I dont really.
