Robert Murat versus Jane Tanner?

Not sure what is going on but it is being reported on Joana's site and elsewhere that there is to be a court case between Robert Murat and Jane Tanner.
The case will be heard at Lagos Criminal Court. According to Keir Simmons ITV 1, Snr Amaral is to be a witness for Murat.

As far as I know there's been a person fduartecarvalho (oh and guess who that is) who's twittered it to him and Keir is going to have a look at it.

First rumours were Murat was going to sue Tanner for libelling him.
Now it's been said it's a criminal charge.
What's next? Attempted murder?

Am at a loss to see what he can sue her for....I know we had discussions over the identification etc, maybe this is something? Maybe he has been persuaded to take action in order to clear the path for something in the future....or maybe it isn't happening.

@ Vaguely It's all speculation so far.
Jo seems to have a good 'relationship' with Amaral, why doesn't she pick up the phone and ask him about it?

And charges without first being declared an arguida?
I have my doubts. But I can't think of a reason why Jo would have invented this.
Perhaps those pesky 'pro's' did it to destroy her credibility? laughat

Robert Murat Sues McCann Friends SOL

Robert
Murat is going to prosecute two friends of the McCann couple for
perjury in a confrontation ordered by the judge. Also the Portuguese
State will be prosecuted, for allegedly "ruining his life". A
curiosity: in the thorough searches to his house, Roman ruins were
discovered.

Francisco Pagarete, Murat's Lawyer, does not know
the evidence that the English gave during the investigation. However,
he was present at the confrontation that - months after Murat had been
constituted as arguido - was done between his client, Rachel Oldfield
and Fiona Payne. The lawyer guarantees to SOL: "They lied in front of
us, with the clear intention of incriminating my client".

Pagarete
explains that, as soon as the case ends being under the secrecy of
justice, he is going to consult 12 thousand pages of the process to
find other evidences: "According to what I read in SOL, it was a
British journalist who did the first accusation to the English Police.
I will check if that is in the process".

So it appears as though that prediction is now happening. Correction - it says Oldfield and Payne - not Tanner.

It's fascinating - I could understand Murat suing Amaral for the comments in the book - but suing Tanner? That's a weird one.

I haven't heard any good reason why Murat should or could sue Tanner. And why now.

Robert Murat criminal complaint against Jane Tanner

Today, a UK media journalist, ITV'S Keir Simmons was able to confirm with Mr. Pagarete, Robert Murat's lawyer, that he has filed a legal complaint against Jane Tanner.

According to Portuguese Journalist Frederico Duarte de Carvalho's twitter, the case which is still at the inquest phase and under the secrecy of justice, is taking place at the Criminal Court of Lagos, in the Algarve, and apparently Mr. Amaral has already testified. Jane Tanner has not yet been constituted as an arguida, nor has she appeared in court.

Robert Murat's criminal complaint against Jane Tanner for calumnious denunciation, has already heard some witnesses, and will continue to hear some more, one of which is Ricardo Paiva, the PJ inspector who is currently being called as a 'liar' by the McCanns Portuguese lawyer, Isabel Duarte.

On the side

On the case of Leandro da Silva versus Gonçalo Amaral, filed by Marcos Aragão Correia, Leonor Cipriano's lawyer, self-called psychic and convicted child murderer defendant, is reaching its final days at court - the lawyer strangely enough has moved to Madeira and has allegedly missed most of the court sessions.
