Re: Bernt Stellander interview
I’ve read many of the books and have recently completed Stellander’s. His book is unique because he lived in PdL while investigating in the field. He sent emails to apparently cause a reaction and he got that reaction on tape. He promises to share this information when the time is right.Liz Eagles wrote:There are lots of books and theories. Are police expected to read them all?Cake Lover wrote:Liz Eagles asks 'Why would the police take the book seriously'. Exactly. So, they should disprove it then. Do something - announce to the world that it's ridiculous, or that they have looked into the theory and found nothing. They know much more than we do, and if they think Bernt is wrong, they are likely to be correct. As Crusader says, Bernt needs to act soon. This shouldn't be a case of 'tune in for the next instalment in four weeks time'. That's just imo, of course.
What makes Stellander's book unique enough to prompt a dig or search anywhere?
I simply can’t understand people who refuse to read the book because his details don’t reflect somebody’s theory. Anyone who believes that Madeline died and was not abducted is on the same team.
Yes, the book is long, sometimes repetitive and written in an awkward style, but if I can plow through it anyone with an open mind can.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
"Eddie runs his nose over kilometres of waste ground, ruins, buildings abandoned or under construction, waterways, pipework, along the beach, under every bush, not forgetting the famous Rocha Negra." That's from Chapter 16 of The Truth Of The Lie.Jill Havern wrote:By the way, I'm just as impatient as you guys are. I desperately want to see the field cam images on the website. I want to see the PJ and dogs searching the sites. I want to see the sites dug. I want to see justice for Madeleine. I want to see the perpetrators of this awful crime brought to justice and for this case to be laid to rest along with this 3-year-old girl who none of us knew yet have devoted almost two decades of our time to learning the truth about what really happened to her.
Can you grasp how much work all that will entail?
BUT, Bernt has to work to his plan. This is his gig and he can't succumb to pressure which would jeopardise all the work he's already done.
There are many things going on, and Peter will tell us when the time is right.
We've all been here for 17 years already, so a little while longer isn't going to hurt us...or Maddie, for that matter, since she was already dead before we even knew her name.
First up, the next podcast with James English where Bernt will divulge new info.
But there is more to come. There is stuff going on behind the scenes that we will know about when the time is right.
I would say to those who have lost interest, or can't read the book because there's too many words...please go and chat on a different thread.

Because he investigated 7 years there and maybe has them on video.
I'm so curious about the videos. Why hasn't he uploaded them to his website yet? What is he waiting for?

Bernt mentions a team in South Africa ready and waiting. Having given praise and recognition to many people, this forum, yourself, PeterMac, Pat Brown, Ms McFadden, and others, I am curious as to whether Bernt has had any contact with Stephen Birch in South AfricaJill Havern wrote:There is more.

Re: Bernt Stellander interview
We should also remember that he has been in contact with the PJ who work in silence. This could be one of many reasons that he hasn't uploaded the videos & pics yet. It may even be a bit reckless to just upload them immediately without considering the consequences, especially in a high profile case such as this. I am sure that he will upload them when the time is right. We just need to be patient.

If the body is buried on the plateau ,when was it actually moved there? If this was after the dogs' search then the dogs would have found nothing anyway.

Didn't they have a family meeting in Sagres in June 2007?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Month%27s_mind
A month's mind (sometimes formerly termed a trental[1]) is a requiem mass celebrated about one month after a person's death, in memory of the deceased.[2]
In medieval and later England, it was a service and feast held one month after the death of anyone, in their memory. Bede (died 735) writes of the day as commemorationis dies. Such "minding days" were of great antiquity, and represent survivals of the Norse minne, or ceremonial drinking to the dead.[3]
"Minnying Days," says Blount, "from the Saxon Gemynde, days which our ancestors called their monthes mind, their Year's mind and the like, being the days whereon their souls (after their deaths) were had in special remembrance, and some office or obsequies said for them, as Obits, Dirges." The phrase is still used in Lancashire.[4]
The month's mind is still an almost universal practice in Ireland (for Roman Catholics) for the family of the deceased and close friends to attend mass and take a meal together.[5][6]

They were having a ball as well as all the hangers on. The hellish lair in the lawless hills. Would we class the Rocha Negra as lawless hills and are there any hellish lairs there? Madeleine is in this lair, IN. not somewhere in there, just in.Cake Lover wrote:That sickens me. I wonder how many of their Family members were in the area of Praia Da Luz on this weekend
Trisha and Sandy and I’m sure Philthy was there too
What about Michael Wright where was his whereabouts leading to and up to that weekend?
According to Kate’s diary for that day they went to the church in the evening for 10 minutes to pray once Sean and Amelie were settled
I wonder who done the spot of late night babysitting

Me too. I believe he is into something and his theory makes a lot of sense.crusader wrote:I like the way Bernt comes across, he seems to be a really genuine man.
He puts forward a very compelling case and has been very proactive. By the sounds of it, he is still being proactive with his "boots on the ground" approach.and isn't about to give up easily or quickly. He is determined that's for sure.
