The idea of the fund wasn't theirs. They let things be set up, then G saw the advantage of it. Destiny had been hard on them, but at least with the secular they would have some compensation...

The PJ Files refers to the McCanns living at the Rothley address, and they had the amount of GBP 323.493 Mortgaged with the Northern Rock Bank.

If they did indeed manage to Pay it all off early, one could ask how?
A lot of their so-called Detective Agencies were into Money laundering, perhaps they could of been of assistance?

That wouldn't surprise me; their mouth piece asked for money to be sent to him, or them - I can't remember which - and said 'It will get there'. Disgusting people.

They always lived in Rothley of course. But have a look at Companies House and you'll see what addresses they provided.

A good accountant could easily cook their books by declaring some income as expenses. I am not one for numbers and accounts but from what I can tell from looking at their companies house information, there are some dubious names listed on there and the accounts don't really provide much insight to where the money goes.

But Kate does not give her Work address as her Husband did.
She gives the address of a Tax Consultant.

St. Martin's Chambers, 8 New Street, Leicester, England, LE1 5NR

Several different Companies give their Names to this address.

Companies with something to cover up usually hide behind the Addresses of their Accountants.

My ex husband has a LTD company and its his accountants address that's listed as his companies house info (I had a peep just now)
even my name is listed as company secretary till 2007 but before then it was just a formality being secretary. I didn't do anything whatsoever with his business apart from put invoices and receipts into a folder, and everything was dealt with by him and his accountant.
I am surprised that TO is allowed to have the hospital listed as his address.very odd

If nothing came out of the Madeleine Fund, there was enough Money flowing in from other major Benefactors such as Kennedy and Branson.

Appearances in Interviews would also have brought in a good return.

K had no work address anymore when the fund was created.
The fund could rent any place where she'd work for the sake of Madeleine except her home.

All that money had to pass through Madeleine's Fund. The accounts don't show it, though they were supposed to be transparent.

Accountant cooking the books perhaps  Maybe she did some locum work. I am sure I read somewhere she returned to work eventually.

My head is starting to swirl with all this!
I thought it was an internet myth re paying off the mortgage, and that it was only paid by the Fund for the 2 months they were in the villa.
Now, we're back to the mortgage having been paid off.
There's something in the PJ Files about K being on maternity leave in May, 2007. As far as I'm aware, she had been working 1.5 days/week as a part-time G.P. The twins were, after all, 27 months old at that time.
Last of all, we mustn't forget about the excuse made for the smell of cadaverine from both Cuddle Cat and the black and white trousers!

Mitchell announced at one stage that a lot of money had been siphoned out of the Fund into another Account which they could use for buying property and investing . .

A McCann pal told The Sun Online: “Some of the savings have been moved into fixed asset account, like a breakaway fund, which financial experts have advised them to so.
"It can be used for purchases like buying a house or building equipment.

It’s all really disgusting if that’s the case!
It makes me wonder who the owners are of Eagle Eye villa and Villa Escarpa,
and who organised the garden survey that Bernt spoke about in the James English interview

Very interesting  (in 2016 there's a distinction between restricted and unrestricted funds)

The restricted/unrestricted funds discrimination popped up in 2012 "following the publication of the book Madeleine, £550,000 was donated for 'the direct costs of the search for and the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine.' Interestingly the auditors' note uses the word 'disappearance' rather than 'abduction' which is the word used by the directors in their report.

In earlier accounts there was no allocation of funds (ie income received) into restricted and unrestricted funds. While it is common for charities and 'not for profit' organisations to have the item restricted funds in their accounts, this is because they have a range of projects ongoing at any time which are relevant to their organisation but some of which are specifically grant aided or raised from the public for a particular purpose and therefore require separate accounting..."

I know you guys don't care about Tarot readings etc. and please don't banish me. But this lady does a normal Astro Tarot reading and suddenly she sees something about a missing child's body (7:11). She mentioned Maddie. Will Maddie's body be found soon? omgomg
