Notable People Involved in The Complete Mystery of Madeleine McCann
A new thread to bring together the many high profile and lesser beings, involved in the case of Madeleine McCann - directly or on the fringe.
I'll start with this little much duplicated gem - in itself it gives a good indication of the level of support Gerry and Kate McCann were/are privileged to safeguard their otherwise precarious positions as regard their daughters mysterious (?) disappearance.

No shortage of material.

Do we include those who made donations? I seem to remember Richard Branson being one of them.

Indeed we do!
Gerry McCann's flight to the USA accompanied by their campaign manager, Justine McGuiness, was funded by Richard Branson. The flight to the Vatican with the missus was funded by Phillip Green..
The McCanns widely publicised European campaign starts in Rome, where they are granted an audience with the Pope and later hold a press conference in the British Embassy to the Vatican.

Picture taken 29 May 2007 shows Sir Philip Green's private jet put at Gerry and Kate McCann's disposal after hearing about Madeleine's abduction, at Faro airport in Portugal. The McCanns used the jet to travel to Rome to prepare for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI on 30 May.
Bring it on ....

Yes - didn't he invite them to dinner? Kate McCann mentioned this, and she seemed very impressed by him.

An invite that came out of the blue some weeks after Madeleine's disappearance. The fragrant Kate was impressed with the strawberry vodkas. No mention in her book of the subsequent child abuse charges after Freud's death although from memory she does mention his passing.

Beckham and other stars make appeal over missing English little girl; Reward money tops 4 million!
May 13th, 2007, 02:43 pm
Football star David Beckham on Friday made a televised appeal for information leading to the return of an English girl missing in Portugal, the day ahead of her fourth birthday. More big names in sport Saturday joined calls for the safe return of a British girl who disappeared in southern Portugal nine days ago, as rewards for information neared four million euros (5.4 million dollars).
The stars, including Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, made their appeal in the Portuguese sports daily Record, which itself has offered a 15,000 euro (20,000 dollar) reward to help find Madeleine McCann, known as "Maddie". The girl, who turned four on Saturday, disappeared from her room at a seaside resort near the village of Praia da Luz in the Algarve on May 3 as her parents ate dinner in a nearby restaurant.
The appeals followed similar calls by Manchester United's Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid and England superstar David Beckham, Chelsea's England captain John Terry and Portugal defender Paulo Ferreira. Wealthy Britons, including Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, also offered more reward money to help find Maddie, bringing the total offered from Britain to nearly 2.5 million pounds (3.7 million euros, five million dollars) on Saturday.
British finance minister Gordon Brown, who is expected to succeed Tony Blair as prime minister, said, "Every parent I know will be thinking about Maddie's family. Every parent will be thinking about what they can do to help the parents and will be sympathising with them in this hour of need."
"My thoughts, like the thoughts of all parents, are with Maddie's parents," father-of-two Brown added.
Quoting unnamed criminal police sources, the Correio da Manha daily reported that Britons at the resort hold "the key to the case" and that the abduction appeared to have been organised from Britain.
Marking their daughter's birthday, Gerry and Kate McCann, both 38-year-old doctors from the English Midlands, on Saturday called for intensified efforts to find her. "On Madeleine's birthday we ask you to continue the search and to continue to pray. Please help us to bring Madeleine home," they said in a statement read in Portuguese by the administrator of the Praia de Luz resort. The BBC said relatives of the missing girl joined 60,000 fans at the Scottish Premier League match in Glasgow between Celtic and Aberdeen, where players from both clubs wore yellow wristbands during the match.
In Edinburgh, Hearts players Jose Goncalves and Bruno Aguiar, who are both Portuguese, also issued a joint statement on behalf of their club urging anyone with information to come forward, according to the BBC. They said: "We cannot begin to imagine how Madeleine's parents feel at this moment, which is why it is important everyone in Portugal and throughout Europe does everything they can to bring her home."
Sky News television meanwhile showed residents tying yellow ribbons in Madeleine's home village of Rothley, Leicestershire.

Reward For Madeleine Info
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has made a significant donation to a £1.5m reward for the safe return of Madeleine McCann. The writer has made the largest, but undisclosed contribution to the News of the World fund, which means £2.6m is now on offer. British businessman Stephen Winyard offered a £1m reward earlier this week, and a colleague of Madeleine's mum Kate a further £100,000.
Manchester and England star Wayne Rooney and sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin have also given £25,000 to the newspaper campaign while music mogul Simon Cowell donated a further £50,000.
The reward is for information directly resulting in the safe return of the four-year-old who was abducted in Portugal nine days ago. Other personalities and leading business figures, including BHS boss Sir Philip Green, Bill Kenwright and Sir Richard Branson, have also joined together in the unprecedented show of support for the family.
Madeleine's father, Gerry McCann said: "Anything that can be done to publicise that Madeleine is missing and help with the search is very welcome."
Portuguese police have also endorsed the reward offer. The co-operation of the backers means this is biggest reward ever offered in a newspaper. Pledges are still pouring into the reward fund - which will be paid out for the crucial piece of information that leads police to Madeleine.
Sir Philip Green, who matched the News of the World's £250,000 contribution, said: "My wife Tina and I have children, and anything we can do to help to bring this beautiful little girl back we will of course do without hesitation.
"We are praying for Madeleine's safe return and can't imagine what Kate and Gerry are going through at the moment."
Madeleine was snatched from her parents' Portuguese holiday apartment in the Algarve village of Praia da Luz on Thursday May 3.

What a list of absolute lying bar stewards, also a”gentleman”who caused the death of a lovely lady.what annoys me is that they
absolutely know what happened after all a blind man on a galloping
horse would know the truth.I don’t know how the deviant swingers
have not had their conscience pricked.I looked at the mother of one
and you could see sorrow and angst,I don’t think she wanted to
Be there.Sorry about the dialogue but my faith in justice has withered.
