This shows the brilliance of Operation Grange. In 2013 they and the BBC spent £2 million or more on beaming a Crime Watch programme seen by 7.1 million. The focus was a bogus sighting of Madeleine being carried towards the beach, probably dead, allegedly by Gerry McCann.

On Thursday 3 May 2007.

Now we have had 3 years of Grange and a top German police officer making a mountain out of a molehill out of Brueckner's phone call.

On Thursday 3 May 2007.

What has that to do with the price of fish? - if, as the evidence suggests, she was already dead before Monday 30 April 2007?

They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

If one views the whole Chain reaction back to source, and see who 'developed' the Information, and then passed it on to the BKA it all becomes clear.

The British Public are well versed with German traditions of timekeeping, accuracy and hard work.

They would trust the BKA as much as a BMW would they not?

Or at least someone hoped that they would..?

A series of articles were published last night by Correio da Manhã, by the hand of Tânia Laranjo, the senior reporter of CM and who has followed this case from the beginning. As we are all aware by now, CM had access to the German investigation and they are now publishing portions of those files. I'm going to translate that too, majority is already known from previous media reports that have been published both in Portugal, Germany and England, but at least now we know this is based on factual information, or rather on CM access to the German investigation files to Brueckner. I'm not sure this is the thread to post the translations, if it's not please move to the appropriate section.

Brueckner's friend reveals to police that the suspected abductor of Maddie is dangerous and likes to abuse women
'Investigação CM' had access to the statements of this man that were the trigger to place Brueckner at the centre of the investigation.

by Tânia Laranjo

Christian Brueckner was deemed the prime suspect in the disappearance of Maddie McCann through the statement of a friend of the German.

'Investigação CM' had access to the statements of this man that were the trigger to place Brueckner at the centre of the investigation.

In 2010, German authorities were looking for leads about a murder and questioned a friend of Brueckner. Aberle, accompanied by a lawyer, agreed to tell the German police what he knew.

Aberle said Brueckner was someone rejected by women, with a failed career path and, this friend said, lived miserably.

At that time, he had no money, no permanent residence with heating, electricity or water. He had no way of washing clothes and no health insurance.

Aberle told that Bruckner was a loner. There was no one who asked about him, who was interested in his fate. As for the place where he stayed most regularly, his friend spoke of an old ruined factory. That's where he often stayed overnight.

On his personality, he described Bruckner as an actor... said he can impress people and compared him to a fox.

"I enjoy his trust because I don't ask too many questions (...) I assume that contact with me would cease if I asked critical questions (...) He doesn't like to be out on the street during the day," this key piece in the German investigation was revealed then.

According to Aberle, Christian revealed to him that he killed an ex-girlfriend, but did so accidentally, when he was drunk.

The friend also says that Brueckner repeatedly speaks in public about minor crimes he was involved in.

"He seems to want you to believe that he is absolutely harmless," the man revealed.

About his stay in Portugal, the friend revealed that Bruckner had lived in the country for 12 years, but had led a wandering life since his return to Germany. At that time, he had a girlfriend, who has since moved away.

The friend revealed some of the phrases he heard from Bruckner in private, which often made him freeze.

Dozens of messages exchanged between paedophiles in which Brueckner was included were detected
A Facebook and Skype account allegedly used by Christian Brueckner has been identified as part of an investigation into a suspected child pornographer.

At the time, the German was also being investigated for rape and that is why the conversations were seized by the authorities.

There, the man talked about how he liked children. How he enjoyed raping them.

The German authorities have added this conversation to the process where Maddie's disappearance is being investigated. It is another clue to explain the sick behaviour of the man who according to the Germans abducted and murdered the girl who was on holiday with her parents in Praia da of Luz.

By the end of the year, the police claim, they will be able to formulate the public accusation for the murder of the English child. What remains unknown is where her remains are... the proof that confirms her death after the disappearance.

Authorities want to charge Brueckner but there is still no clear evidence of his involvement
Christian Brueckner is serving time for the rape of a North American woman in the Algarve. He has also served a sentence for drug trafficking and is now expected to be charged with abducting and raping Madeleine McCann.

The German police seem certain of his guilt. They guarantee that Maddie was abducted from the Ocean Club and killed shortly afterwards. They point the finger at the German and have already asked for records (certificates) to the Portuguese process.

Searches have also been made in several places in the Algarve, notably near where Bruckner lived at the time. Nothing has been found.

Yes, it directly relates to Brueckner so the translations and comments are fine here.

A media outlet having access to confidential police investigation files whilst the investigation is still active - surely not?

A press briefing for public awareness yes, a press release when police require public assistance yes but to hand over confidential information to a tabloid bignono !

I have a very low opinion of the press, they'll stoop to anything to get a story. Never forget the conflicting headlines day after day. week after week, month after month when Madeleine McCann disappeared .... and the reader was expected to swallow every word.

I don't believe for a moment that Correio da Manhã has direct access to police files, any more than I believe the document used by Sandra Felgueiras, showing what was said to be Christian Brueckner's crime records in the Discovery+ documentary, is from an official source.

They clearly do Verdi. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to
a) film the copies that appear on the video of GA's interview
b) quote directly from the German investigation case files

I presume Sandra F. also had accesses to some parts of that process, the sources might have been different though.

It seems obvious who the source for CM was. It doesn't mean they, or Sandra F. still have access to it, but they did have access to the files up to some point in the investigation.

Nope, a quick google search sorts that.

Carlos Pinto de Abreu, the McCann's lawyer in 2007, for the arguido constitution, has an entirely different company named Carlos Pinto de Abreu e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados.

Sandra's husband, Tiago Leote Cravo, is a lawyer at a different firm, named Abreu advogados, a society of independent lawyers.

If anything she got access from JC, but frankly I'm just guessing. Could be any source really, from within the German investigation to someone else.

Brueckner's facebook proves attacks to children
Conversations in 2010. Dialogue was intercepted in 2010, three years after Maddie went missing. It is not relevant to finding out what happened to the English child, but authorities say it reveals the profile of the man who is thought to be the murderer.

These are absolutely disturbing conversations. Christian Bruckner, the suspected abductor of Madeleine McCann, in May 2007, in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, was chatting with a friend via Facebook and talked about raping children. The conversations were seized by German police as part of a child pornography investigation and the interlocutor denounced the German suspect as the man with whom he was holding long dialogues.

The conversations that CM now reveals (see infographic) are in the German file, in which the disappearance of Maddie is investigated. But they have nothing to do with with the disappearance of the English child, not least because they were made in 2010. They say a lot about the behaviour of the man who is currently in prison for raping a North American woman also in the Algarve.

Bruckner says in these conversations that he has a desire to have sex with a "little one". The friend replies, "Who doesn't want to."

The German goes further: he tells that his greatest pleasure would be to "pick up something small and be able to use it for days." Presumably he is talking about a child he could rape consecutively.

Bruckner then promises his friend that when they meet - they lived in distant cities and arranged to meet only three months later - he will have new videos to show him. "I'm going to record a lot of films. (...) I'm going to document exactly the way she's going to be tortured."

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Brueckner often talked about the films he made and a friend says he broken into his house to steal the videos. One of them was handed over to the police and was related to a rape in the Algarve.

Rape films were stolen from his residence
The German process contains a testimony from an acquaintance of Bruckner's who says he broke into his home and stole videos in which the German was seen raping women. One of these tapes shows the attack on the North American woman that landed him in prison.

DOES NOT CONFESS | DEATH OF THE LITTLE GIRL (top box)
Bruckner is currently in prison for a rape in the Algarve, but had also previously served two other sentences in Germany: one for child sexual abuse, the other for drug trafficking. He is now in a high security jail and refuses to confess any involvement in Maddie's death.

Page 11

He said he was capable of killing without having any remorse

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Authorities searched for clues, but found nothing. Several plots of land were searched in detail

"I can imagine myself killing a person faster than an animal"; "I like to watch catastrophic situations"; "I need dangerous situations". These are some of the phrases that a friend of Christian Bruckner told the German police he heard him say at times and that left him with fears about his way of being in life.

"I could have killed her"; "That was nothing compared to what I did [when comparing his past to an arrest for drug trafficking]," are other statements attributed to Bruckner that appear in the German process, in which the murder of an former girlfriend of the presumed murderer of Maddie was also investigated.

"She [another ex-girlfriend] talked about the murder. (...) She said that the head and arms had been cut off, but to me the strangest thing was that Mr Bruckner immediately made jokes about it. For me and for the former girlfriend this was too much. We just shook our heads and changed the subject," said the witness.

CM knows that that process ended up being archived. The authorities did not gather strong evidence of the German's involvement in the crime, although they did later search a place where he would have burned the victim's clothes. Nothing was found and the woman's death went unpunished.

Left side of the page
Brueckner's chat with a friend
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Friend: Hello
Bruckner: How are things going?
Friend: Very well. How about you?
Bruckner: Not so well. I want to f... a little one
Friend: Who doesn't want to...
Bruckner: Do you have any new films?
Friend: Unfortunately not. I barely had time during the week.
Bruckner: OK. Anyway sending films this way is dangerous.
(...)
Bruckner: Catching something small and to be able to use it for days...
Friend: It is also not without danger....
Bruckner: If the evidence is deleted afterwards...
(...)
Brueckner :Then [before they meet] I will record a lot of films. (...) I will document exactly how she will be tortured.

Today and tomorrow Judiciary Police and Germans meet
Portuguese evidence will be added to German case
Today and tomorrow there will be a meeting in Germany that brings together German and Portuguese police. The aim is to exchange information and strengthen the process against Christian Bruckner that is taking place in Germany since he is imprisoned in that country in connection with a rape. If the Germans manage to advance to the public indictment for the death of the English girl in Praia da Luz, the Portuguese process should go to Germany, to strengthen the trial.

EARNED 2,000 EUROS A WEEK
When he was arrested for drug trafficking, Brueckner said he sold hashish and earned two thousand euros a week. He assured that he later ended up losing all the money because he was cheated by the dealers.

"If only they knew who I really am"
"If they only knew who I really am" is one of the phrases attributed to Bruckner by a friend. It was reportedly said after his arrest for a petty crime, when the presumed suspect of killing Maddie confided that he was afraid the police would find out who he really was.

He is adopted and does not know his parents or siblings
There are also other revelations in the process. That Bruckner is adopted and that somehow the bad relationship with women comes from the fact that he does not forgive the mother who abandoned him. Bruckner has lived in a foster home and knows neither his parents nor his siblings.

(Top 3 boxes)
WHERE HE LIVED
The witness told how Bruckner lived in an abandoned factory with no water or light. He revealed that he was rejected by women and pointed to his complete professional failure. He then recalled that he was a loner. There was no one to ask about him, who was interested in his fate. He didn't even have any friends.

ACTOR
Regarding his personality, the friend described Brueckner as an actor, he said he could impress people, compared him to a fox.

WHERE HE KILLED MADDIE
This is the house where the presumed murder of Madeleine was living when the child went missing. It's located on Praia da Luz, not far from the Ocean Club. Portuguese and British authorities have already canvassed the entire area, but have found nothing relevant. There is no data to prove that Maddie was in the house.

I highlighted that bit in red for its relevance, as it seems the PJ and BKA are indeed working hand in hand to indict (or should I say frame?) CB as the suspect for Madeleine's disappearance, abduction and death.

The guy is a monster, but the big question is, can the Germans prove without any doubts that he abducted and murdered Maddie has they state? Will the Portuguese PGR, the Public Ministry and the Portuguese people, on a very small scale, be okay that this investigation is taken out of the hands of the Portuguese magistrature and taken to Germany, after all that has happened? What will happen to the British investigations, to the 12 million pounds that yielded nothing? Will there be an inquest, that it too will yield nothing as most of the inquests in the UK related to sensitive cases? What will the PJ do and say, oblige and acquiesce?

New to the forum, but long time lurker.
I have always been of the opinion that the parents were in some way culpable, more so than than mere child neglect precipitating a disappearance, but with 3 police forces all now seemingly concluding the same, it's looking like CB is indeed responsible.
Proving it would also seem to depend on whether he can maintain his silence during trial.

"Proving it would also seem to depend on whether he can maintain his silence during trial."

Proving it will depend on whether they have, (or there is any) evidence of
1 Abduction
2 Method
3 Time window
4 Clear proof that CB was involved

So far there is no evidence of 1, 2, or 3, and the Prosecutor has recently admitted he has no evidence of 4.

Telegraph article. 9 Oct 21
However, Mr Wolters and his team now admit they have no proof Madeleine is dead

Mr Wolters now says they have no idea how she died and no DNA or photo evidence linking 44-year-old Brueckner to the alleged murder.

“I can’t tell you on which basis we assume she is dead. But for us, there’s no other possibility. There is no hope she is alive.”

Even if CB said "I done it, Guv' " That is not sufficient for a finding of Guilt unless he fleshes it out with enough details to allow. 1, 2 and 3 to be established

Operation Grange, a wing of the Metropolitan Police, have never publicly disclosed a commitment to the ongoing media bash about a German suspect in the name of Christian Brueckner, underbelly I believe they are still at logger heads with the Portuguese authorities - they who must be discredited at all odds.

As for Brueckner's silence, a suspect has the right to remain silent - and invariably do, it's in their interests.  That silence would have no effect on a court trial weighed-up against evidence!

By the way, welcome 'all time lurker' thumbsup !

Before camera, once twice thrice (if not the same interview cut and spliced to suit) the German assumed authority, Herr Christian Wolters, has said their investigation is proceeding without a shred of evidence, aside from circumstantial evidence.

The German investigation flies in the face of everything documented by the PJ official investigation.  It's utter nonsense, if they think they can stitch up a known criminal for a crime he clearly didn't commit, or have any involvement with, then I can only say they will end up a laughing stock.  They're already half way there.

Still never mind, it's had the desired effect - taken the focus away from the true 'prime suspects'.  For it is they..

Right... because someone's guilt is determined by how many people agree that that someone is guilty, not by evidence of that guilt.

Yes, HCW and his team just have to convince 3 judges, if I'm correct. With the pre-trial bar being set really high in Germany, as I suggested, if he keeps his gob shut there's a chance it won't get that far. But they seem to be doubling down on their assertion that he's definitely their man. I can't believe for a minute that HCW's paymasters would permit such flagrant proclamations without coming from a position of strength. They must have substantial circumstantial evidence and have presented it.

For me, having taken my head out of my arse, I can see now that all of the Team McCann shenanigans were nothing more than a bunch of hapless professional people cobbling a narrative together to salvage their reputations, with the McCann's themselves furiously sandbagging and retro-fitting a story to cover up their neglect and sedation. When it started to look like they were going to charge Kate, they went in to full legal mode, hence the complete change of tack.
She didn't have an accident, she was snatched by CB, who probably couldn't believe his luck, finding he was unable to rouse MM from her slumber as he spirited her away.
Does this seem like an extremely unlikely coincidence; a predatory paedophile happens upon a sedated child? Yes, but no more fanciful that the premise that she died some time earlier in the week and a cabal of co-conspirators connived to cover it up, some of who were casual acquaintances.

As I said, I was convinced they were to blame, i.e. sedation / accident, but they can't all be idiots and they clearly know way more than we do.

Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be - Page 8 Empty Re: Christian Brueckner: To be or not to be

None of this is new, since September 2007, there were many forms of pressures both from England and within Portugal to archive the investigation to Madeleine's disappearance. The investigation led by Paulo Rebelo, the coordinator that came into Gonçalo Amaral's position, was meant to end in only one way, archived. The PGR, the Public Ministry, the Justice Ministry then accepted, if not pushed, for this outcome. This is merely a continuation of that strategy. The ludicrous review of the Porto PJ team years later, was also a continuation of that same strategy.

There is no political will to see this case through here in Portugal, no one, no politician will place their career at risk, nor will any minister, nor the Prosecutor General's Office. The PJ by itself cannot supplant those above them in the hierarchy, they're doing what is being ordered, that's all.

What is happening now is two fold: The German authorities have requested officially, in a common legal step, a procedural legal step, certificates or records from the Portuguese process, from the process relative to Madeleine McCann investigation. What these are, I have no idea. Could be anything really.

It's alleged the Portuguese authorities are meeting with the German authorities to exchange information and strengthen the possible, but not certain, indictment of the German authorities against C. Brueckner. This doesn't mean the PJ has any evidence, any physical evidence in their possession that CB was the abductor, rapist and murderer of Madeleine McCann. Like the Germans, if anything whatever the PJ has will be circumstantial because they never investigated CB at the time, in 2007. Logically, what can the PJ have? This seems to be another step falling in the scope of judicial mutual cooperation. Personally I don't believe the Germans will succeed in framing Christian B. for Madeleine McCann abduction, rape and murder without strong evidence, and they simply don't have it.

What is serious here, alarming even, is the possibility that the Portuguese process of the investigation to Madeleine McCann disappearance can be sent to a different country, a different jurisdiction, and that no one in positions of power in Portugal, namely the PGR, the MJ (Justice Minister) and so on, is willing to prevent this action. Why? Why this continuous subservience to foreign pressures? What exactly is stopping that this case is investigated, in Portugal and in England too, as it should be, as a proper police investigation, without any constraints?

This is my personal opinion.

Excellent post.
This decision for Portugal to 'cooperate' with German authorities may be multi-faceted, but usually involves some political angle.
But the tipping point may be the sheer weight of circumstantial evidence presented, with face-saving all round being the order of the day by the PGR, et al.
They can't all be idiots! At some point they would have to cut their losses in the face of some pretty obvious, compelling evidence being presented.

Sadly you are right Chambers, the order of the day is exactly that. It hasn't changed, as GA stated this is the perfect suspect. The British and the Portuguese authorities can only be too happy for an outcome that is brought by a different "neutral country", by an unsuspecting foreign authority that seemingly has no motivation to manufacture a suspect and put this 14 year political problem to sleep, because we are not talking about a missing child investigation any more, it ceased being one since the British consul and the British ambassadors set foot in Praia da Luz and pushed for an abduction without any evidence.

They are not idiots, but they think that we are, and with the world as it is, this will be a tiny drop in the fast paced collective attention span. "Case solved, here's the culprit". Unless, GA, the last man standing can actually shake the waters, and unless the current directorate of the PJ allows this to happen without saying a word.

Like you, I have been a lurker for some time, and, like you, I am sceptical about theories that require multiple agents to be complicit in a cover-up, some of whom seem to have no skin in the game. However, unlike you, I am not quite so ready to trust in the probity and professional competence of the police. If CB is convicted, the German police get the kudos of solving a case which other police forces couldn't solve, the UK authorities get to say how right they were to support British citizens abroad who were being accused by nasty foreigners, and the PJ, although a bit crestfallen, at least get rid of a persistent toothache. It's in all of their interests to pin the blame on CB if they can.

I suggest that all we can do is wait and see what Braunschweig come up with in the way of substantive evidence and I don't think we should rush to draw any conclusions until they do.

Although this is only my second post on here as someone who has lurked, I joined about three months ago. I notice from your profile that you joined today, so I guess we should all say welcome.
