STEPHEN KAVANAGH RESIGNS THE VERY DAY AFTER HE HAD AGREED IN WRITING TO MEET LES BALKWELL FOR THE FIRST TIME

Stephen Kavanagh, Chief Constable of Essex Police, yesterday gave notice of his resignation. This news came precisely four years after he was handed a 4-year extension to his contract by Essex Police Commissioner Roger Hirst.
Yet what nobody yet knows is that he made his announcement on the VERY SAME DAY that Mr Leslie Balkwell, father of Lee Balkwell who was killed in mysterious circumstances on 18 July 2002, received a letter from Kavanagh’s Assistant Chief Constable, Nick Downing, agreeing – after many years – to meet him and Les’s legal team for the very first time.
In a letter dated 26 April and signed by ACC Nick Downing, he promised Les that Stephen Kavanagh would meet him in person, together with members of his legal team, headed by ex-police officer and head of TM-Eye, Dave McKelvie. Les received the letter yesterday. Hours later, he was told that Kavanagh had resigned.
Dave KcKelvie described the sudden resignation as ‘bizarre’. He had warned Stephen Kavanagh just days before that he would be bringing to the meeting allegations of serious corruption, backed up by ‘very strong evidence’. which Les understands would have included not only corruption allegations against senior Essex Police officers but also regarding Kavanagh’s involvement in Operation Kayu and in the police enquiries into the killing of Mark Duggan by police officers.
The scheduled meeting between Les, his advisers and Kavanagh was also intended to include new medical and other evidence said to prove that Lee Balkwell was murdered before being placed into a concrete mixer to cover up the murder.
Kavanagh has been Chief Constable of Essex since 2013.

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

If he's not going until September, surely there is still time for him to meet with Mr Balkwell?

Is there any news of a meeting being arranged?

You were correct originally in noting that Stephen Kavanagh was not leaving, but would be staying on for a few months.Amy Dean wrote:Is there any news of a meeting being arranged?
I spoke to Les Balkwell today and apparently his new legal team (co-ordinated now by Dave McKelvie, boss of TM-Eye) has been offered three dates for a meeting.
Les asked me to make the post above because of his disgust at being offered a meeting on the very day Kavanagh had decided to ,having repeatedly asked for such a meeting for the previous three years.
Unfortunately, as a further backdrop to this meeting, Kavanagh's new Assistant Chief Constable, Nick Downing has just carried out a lamentable further review of the evidence in the case.
This had been demanded by Roger Hirst, the independent Police Commissioner for Essex. But of course an internal review is never 'independent', as was purported by Kavanagh & Downing. The review was published a month ago and concluded that there was zero evidence that Lee Balkwell had been murdered.
We fight on...
