A new bbc documentry, reported missing, starts Wednesday 12th April, 9pm

The four part series follows families, freinds and police investigators looking for missing persons in the uk.

It gives an insight in to the day by day routine of trying to find missing children and adults, and the tools they use including the media and dogs!

In part one they look for a 13 year old boy and a 12 year old girl!

I wonder how far in to the series they get until the McCann's are mentioned?

Reported Missing

New BBC documentary: 'Reported Missing' - Wednesday 12th April, 9pm 624
Ep 1/3
Wednesday 12 April
9.00pm-10.00pm
BBC ONE
NEW
Every two minutes someone in Britain goes missing. Multiple cameras follow the hunt for missing people, from the police tasked with finding them to loved ones left at home.
In Darlington, the police are increasingly concerned for the safety of 12 year-old Joshua, who has stormed off after a row with his mum and seemingly disappeared. Prone to escaping into a superhero-inspired world of fantasy, Joshua’s learning difficulties and trusting nature make him especially vulnerable, and as the minutes become hours, then yet more hours, and as darkness falls, fears mount.
It’s down to Inspector Sarah Honeyman and her team to try and find Joshua before it’s too late: She says: “The biggest fear is that somebody snatches that child. As a police officer you are very well aware that there are more people out there that would do that than maybe the general public think.
"Your child is the most precious thing in your life. As a parent myself, you'd be looking for somebody to say everything is going to be okay - but you can't give that guarantee, and it would be wrong to."
Not far away, in a rural town in County Durham, the alarm is raised when 13 year-old Katie disappears from home leaving behind a troubling suicide note. All available officers are immediately scrambled to the search and a search dog and handler from the local Mountain Rescue team is drafted in - but budget cuts mean police helicopters are more thinly stretched than ever, and with the local one tied up on a firearms job, there's an agonising wait to try and get vital air support.
PC Matt Gunby, whose difficult job it is to wait with the family, knows it doesn't get any more serious than this: "A missing person in a negative frame of mind is a completely different matter to deal with. Then when you find a suicide note everything else goes out the window. The parade room at the station will empty and every available officer will go and look for that child."
But it’s the family who feel it most keenly, as everything hangs in the balance. Katie’s mother Jackie explains: "That day, I remember snippets of that day. To be honest I’d seen her going to bed the night before, there were no signs that it was affecting her that much. And that’s the scary thing because we always felt we knew her better."

Well, let's see...

Is this a weekly series, every Wednesday at 9pm?

If it is, then...

Episode 1-  Wednesday 12 April

Episode 2 - Wednesday 19 April

Episode 3 - Wednesday 26 April...

and then the final episode, Episode 4...

...would be on Wednesday, 3rd May, at 9pm...

....And how very, very convenient that would be!

I had an email about 4 weeks back from someone in Portugal saying specifically that the BBC had been seen filming in Praia da Luz.

I did manage to dig out some more information from the BBC, from which, yes, it looks like the fourth and final episode of will indeed be transmitted...

That is but there should at least be a focus point relating to overseas investigations.
1. The Government pays and charges the taxpayer.
2. Legal teams are alerted so that nothing can be broadcast without the approval of the BBC.
3. British witnesses must be believed AT WHATEVER COST.
4. British children must be told the party line
5. Private investigators must be seen as far superior to any national Police force.
6 If someone goes missing overseas in say Portugal as an example then it is the duty of the Ambassador in that country to get along to the Police department and kick ass.
7. The media are the greatest asset so must be alerted then briefed by anybody who might think of themselves as anybody.
8. Although in this country members of any related groups are seen as the first suspects, this idea dramatically changes if someone is missing abroad.
9. In overseas countries Paedophiles can operate openly and with impunity.
10. detection leaders such as dogs who might be seen as reliable in the UK are actually incredibly unreliable whilst abroad.

There are 10 points, I wonder how many will be aired by the BBC.

New BBC documentary: 'Reported Missing' - Wednesday 12th April, 9pm Empty BBC film re Madeleine coming up, starring Heribito Janosch Gonzalez

Post by Tony Bennett 11.04.17 9:12

A forum member has contacted CMOMM with a message she has received from a BBC insider.

The message reads as follows:

"I have been messaged on Facebook by someone who has informed me that the BBC are doing a programme from Praia da Luz the week of 3 May - and within the programme they will be interviewing Heribito Janosch Gonzalez".

Whether this is connected with the 'Reported Missing' series, which concludes 9pm on Wednesday  3 May, or is somehting entirely different, we don't know.

Just read HJG on twitter.  No doubt this indicates more shockingly biased attempts by the UK media to isolate Gonacalo Amaral, and drown out the recently confirmed Supreme Court findings that point the finger of suspicion firmly at the McCanns!  One last throw of the dice to convince the masses that Maddie was abducted by a stranger, before Operation Grange wraps up it's endlessly dubious investigation into Maddie's sad fate.

The costly, multi-pronged attempts to silence Goncalo Amaral have failed abysmally, and thankfully this courageous gentleman remains committed to insuring the truth of what really happened to Madeleine is not covered up by TM, Operation Grange, or the UK MSM.

The facts are that the madeline case is recorded by both portugeuse and the british authorities as a missing person, not a child abduction !, and should be reported as so!!
No doubt the word abduction will be used by the bbc many times.

I'm prepared to wait for this documentary although I think the timing is suspicious.

I'll be interested to see how the charity Missing People is highlighted (if at all).

The Missing People choir is featuring on BGT. There is now a forthcoming BBC doco re missing people.

Lots to think about.

I watched episode 1. So far so good.

A child goes missing and the police turn out with:

Initial call information from the 999.

Family liaison officer (who inspects the missing child's laptop)

Police interview with friends and family of the missing child.

Police showing how the process works.

Dogs

Helicopter with heat seeking equipment which is unavailable due to shared resource/funding.

Volunteer mountain rescue service invited and deployed.

Inter-constabulary liaison yielding crucial information.

Witness statements as to sighting being assessed and pared down to importance/relevance.

Not a single mention of a charity that purports to be a lifeline when people go missing.

Not a single mention so far of the need to have a bespoke charity that will help through 'digitalia'.

So far, so good.

Aquila you are missing the point here. We can all see how the British Police deal with missing people however the abduction of Madeleine took place in Portugal where the bungling Police will do nothing without a sharp kick up the rear from a foreign ambassador and massive media attention.

OK, let's get to the point of missing abroad. The McCanns requested that Madeleine was removed from the Missing Abroad website.

Missing Abroad has now been absorbed by Missing People.

I also watched the first episode of 'Reported Missing' and agree that it was a fair documentary which explained (followed) the police methodology and family liaison.

It is here on BBC iPLAYER if anyone is interested:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08mn83x/reported-missing-series-1-episode-1

It is hard to see how they can 'shoe-horn' Madeleine McCann into this series on 3rd May....... but I am no longer surprised about these things so I will wait and see.  (The fact that there are no press releases for episode 4 make me very curious!)

However, information about episode 3 is now available:

When Peter checks on his 82-year-old father at home one morning as normal, he finds the house empty. Suffering from advancing dementia, Archie has vanished - leaving no sign of where he might be.
