No one wants to buy Maddie's Apartment Diário de Notícias

The property, belonging to an Englishwoman, was put on sale in 2008 for 200 thousand euros, but so far it is only out of curiousity that people have shown an interest in seeing the flat. Tours from the North of the country even include the place in their program itineraries. The apartment 5 A at the Ocean Club resort, in Praia Luz, Lagos, from where the 3-year-old English girl Madeleine McCann mysteriously disappeared whilst on vacation with her parents and twin siblings, also minors, on the night of May 3, 2007, remains closed and for sale since August 2008 for 200 thousand euros; even though the notice board with that information was removed. The worldwide media coverage surrounding the case does not "diminish nor increase" the property value of the T2 ground-floor apartment, situated about 200 metres from the beach, said the real estate investors to DN.

Do you know if the apartment is still available to rent?

ETA 200K (166K GBP) sounds a bit pricey, the apartment wasn't that great inside judging from the investigation file photos.

I take the article to mean that it isn't for rent as it says

It does seem pricey but it is in a good location near the sea so I expect they can demand higher prices?

Perhaps the price has something to do with the property not selling.

Those who know about good marketing seem to have missed an opportunity here. One thought they would at least have bought the apartment and applied for planning permission to have it turned into a shrine-cum-shop. Having surveyed where Madeleine had allegedly been left sleeping, and the bathroom where Gerald McCann relieved himself before going outside and bumping into Jeremy Wilkins, the pilgrims and punters could choose a quality wristband and a pack of Madeleine photographs to stick on their cars and luggage, then be escorted out onto the balcony for a glass of New Zealand wine where they could be shown how very close the Tapas bar was to the apartment blocks. After watching a heavily edited version of Panorama and any other TV programme that had a great deal of Tapas 9 input, the vistors could then be carefully shepherded down the steps, before being given a guided tour of the Tapas 9's alleged meanderings on that fateful night of May 3rd 2007, when it was declared that Madeleine had been abducted by a paedophile/s.

Over priced for that sort of property ie very basic holiday apartment - only two small bedroom and not really tastefully done either.

Plus even if the owner lower the price to market value or below market value, once potential buyer hears of the death in the apt, no way anyone would buy it.

Brian Kennedy should snap it up as base for the PIs.

or

Mccanns should snap it up as commemorating place for Madeleine after all GM said they have long term plan for celebration of Madeleine life.

Although a small number of the world population do not appear to like him, there are those who consider him a living Saint due to his Christian clean-living lifestyle. In the history of the world's press and other media, one has noted that only the Tapas 9 and the man himself have ever had such a glorious and trouble-free ride throughout their lives. As pointed out by many posters, even the late Goddess Diana Spencer and Mandela have had scurrilous lies about their personal lives laid bare by the newspapers, yet zilch about the Tapas 9. Really most extraordinary for the times we now live in.
