The Foster family photograph

Nigel and Selina Foster after their holiday in Praia de Luz, decide to get in touch with Leicestershire Police to let them know that they have some photographs from Portugal, they may be interested in.

If you read the report, you will see that only one picture had some of the T9 in and they were told it was not relevant to the enquiry. What a lot of fuss over one picture you might think!!

But what is interesting about Nigel and Selina Foster, is the house they now live in. The previous occupiers in 2002/2003 are listed as

Benjamin W Hubbard

Caroline L Hubbard

Peter D Hubbard

Lesley A Hubbard

Reginald W Hubbard

Selina Foster is a Residential Property Consultant in the South East and in Market Research and she and Nigel moved into that home around 2007

I wonder if the Hubbard family above are in some way related to the Hubbard family in Praia de Luz?

Why do you think they turned down 'Childcare' when it was offered, yet booked their daughter into creche?

Does this suggest they were offered childcare at night in advance?

Why does the initial request talk about video footage but the follow up talk about photos and no mention of seeing the video footage?

The Fosters appear to live in the outskirts of Southampton (Bishops Waltham), whereas the Hubbards I thought were from Norfolk?

On the list is an Anthony Newman. An Anthony Newman-Taylor used to be the chairman of the Brompton Hospital London which specialises in heart and lung matters. His speciality was expert witness in industrial asthma cases. May be another coincidence and not the same person at all.

Thanks Rogue, I think that's what put it in my head. It's the contents I'm curious about though - we know the memory cards were received, but only their photos are mentioned (one photo containing some of the T7 but deemed innocuous). Why no mention of what the video contained, it seems an odd ommission to put down to lack of dilligence.

I believe this was the last we heard of it in DC Martin's statement:

‘ On 9th May 2007 at 08.30 I delivered this video camera in the sealed bag number CD 48113 to the imaging unit at Hampshire Police Support headquarters, Netley for examination. I conducted no examination of this bag and contents.’

I have only just noticed that in DC Martins statement, he lists what was given to him which includes:

ID ref Description NALF/1 Video tape from Sony Handicam Video

but no mention is made of the 'camera, bag and contents' until he sends it off to Netley. Did this camera have a tape in it? What did he do with the tape NALF/1 he does list? Did this go to Netley with the camera? Not the normal evidence audit trail you come to expect.

On Richard’s film (DVD 2) at 36.43 he talks about these cameras and memory cards, but again does not know what came of the video footage.

There is also the strange message from Leicester police at 39.16 asking for an officer to visit Mrs Foster to view 30 secs of video footage on their home computer, but again we don’t know what came of that or whether this was the same footage on the video tape that DC Martin had had in his possession.

Why is there no statement from the person who examined the video film and camera and presumably also went to see Mrs Foster?

Just to add to above, Inspector Paiva's statement makes no mention of video footage and just talks of 'some of the elements making up the group of friends of the McCann couple', so no photos of MM then.

On this date, I can inform that photographs from a CD provided by Leicestershire police were visualised and analysed, these referred to photographs taken by the F***** family during their holidays at the OC between the 28th April and 5th May 2007.

Upon analysing these photos, the result was that there was at least one photograph where some of the elements making up the group of friends of the McCann couple were visualised, nothing relevant being found for the investigation.

I find it very strange that the Fosters would call up the police to offer video footage that is obviously of possible interest to the investigation yet this footage is never referred to again plus no statement was taken?
Yet statements by ROB and Kate in her book refer to a convo about pedophiles, making express accusation that Mr. Foster felt dirty for filming his own daughter? Who says that to complete strangers?

I smell a rat.
