Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

A McCann supporting article in the Express was to be expected after its correction appeared this week. A Christmas themed one, for extra effect.
Did the Express actually state that "we lied"?

The article says that Maddie was kidnapped - How do they know? Do they have evidence?

I can imagine Mitchell storming into the editor's office - bright pink in the face - (nothing different there) and demanding he print this shullbit article as a penance for daring to publish the meagre little apology to Amaral.
While us lot can see it for what it is ..... unfortunately, (and amazingly), there are still millions of 'newspaper readers' who will lap it up as sincere and truthful.
When the reckoning comes, it will be swift, and completely unexpected.

Jeez, we all must have missed the bit about the "kidnappers" looking for a ransom.

Missing our Madeleine!
DCI Andy Redwood never mentioned kidnappers in his Crimewatch masterpiece from October 2013. In fact, he still had not found any credible suspects to solve the missing girl Madeleine McCann? But to be fair to former DCI Andy Redwood, he ruled out as suspects to the case a special group of friends, thought to have dined with the parents during the holiday period from April 28 to 3 May 2007, apartment 5a Ocean Club, Portugal.
However, DCI Redwood did partake in accommodation and flights to Portugal to try to ascertain suspects from the surrounding areas close to Ocean club 5a apartments, but left non the wiser and decided to hand the (poisoned chalice) challenge to a new colleague, (I nick erm before they know they're nicked) DCI Nicola Wall 22 December 2014. DCI Wall has since deliberated over the scaling back of Officers on "Operation Grange", possibly due to outside influences over the costs of the ongoing case to be in excess of £10-12 million to the UK tax payer?
This of course would not have been possible unless Rebekah Brooks "persuaded Dave" to overrule the Home Secretary and provide the resources to pursue an investigation of the "Abduction" of Madeleine McCann during the above mentioned period.
I do not know how the Express Newspaper came to this new thesis but it sounds a bit fishy to me much like the, "tainted beef residues, sea bass and the dirty nappies scenario" eh Gerry, Trish and Michael?

I don't remember a ransom ever being mentioned.

I remember a ransom being talked about early on, but I think it was traced to a ne`er do well in Belgium (it could have been another Euro country).

Back on topic, I was surprised by just how many comments there were complaining about 'red arrows'. Firstly, I would have expected a balance between positive and negative comments.
Secondly, do people usually take the trouble to post on an article to comment on other people's motives for putting red arrows? Wouldn't it be more usual to post a comment on the article itself? ODD.
