New book: 'Lies & Deception': Madeleine-the impossible kidnapping by Peter Scharrenberg ***NEW*** Unanimous verdict is that this is a thoroughly bad 'book' - so thread closed
Journalist Peter Scharrenberg studied the very large Portuguese police file on the missing three-year-old British toddler Madeleine McCann. She disappeared on May 3, 2007 mysteriously from her bed in a Portuguese holiday village, where she ao with her parents Gerry and Kate, was on vacation. According to them, she is kidnapped by a pedophile burglar.
Scharrenberg has in his research two key witnesses in the cases have been found which are obviously completely forgotten or overlooked are seen by the police and who have played no role in the research. These two witnesses have, however, already one day after the loss, made very incriminating statements to Gerry McCann, Madeleine's father. Because of this there must be serious doubts about the accuracy of the timeline that has been made at the time by the police and is always used as a guide in the investigation. The implications of the statements of these two 'forgotten' witnesses are enormous, as this seems to be demonstrated that Father Gerry itself the "kidnapper" was. In addition, these statements come from a Roman Catholic priest and a retired British businessman picture as possible of helping hands to hide the little body of the toddler. Both men are never investigated.
In this book he also describes the main findings, witness statements and forensic evidence and put it into context, making it the reader, according to the author, it is increasingly clear that the parents have been or should involved in the disappearance of their daughter and that while they have had help.

Hi all. Being Dutch I decided to look up this Peter Scharrenberg. I had never heard of him.
There is no journalist named Peter Scharrenberg that has published anything other than this book (self-published, no publisher).
There is a crime journalist called Koen Scharrenberg who published a book in 2011.
Peter Scharrenberg gets no mention on internet anywhere, ever, apart from a linkedin profile without a picture and with 1 connection.
I am very curious if this is indeed a serious book he has written.
Call me paranoid, but it is a great way for people who are interested in say "the McCann stalkers" to get details (shipping address, name etc.)
I am also curious who brought this book to the attention of (the owner of) this forum.
Maybe the writer is a trustworthy person, who used the name Peter Scharrenberg as a pseudonym. But I would like to know more before I buy the book.

Too many official investigations and official inquiries and unofficial investigations and unofficial inquiries and official documentaries and unofficial documentaries and official unofficial books and unofficial 'Untold Stories of Madeleine McCann' for my liking. All that's required is the initial investigation by the PJ and latterly the exemplary combined works of Richard D Hall - the rest is superfluous!

Let's see if the McCanns are going to ban this book !
Do they need one year to decide, like they did to Dr. Amaral's book? We shall see.

Which is handy because I totally agree with you.
Nothing is what it seems with this case and we should always ask "why?" before we accept what we see is what it purports to be.
Imagine if we thought that Scummers and Swansong's book really was "the definitive account"?
As opposed to it being a thinly veiled, co-Mc-SKY-MSM compilation of total crap.

This will be another book full of waffle, regurgitated snippets and theories by someone else who has no more access to the case files than you or i. I wouldn't waste your money.
The only books worth reading come from those involved in the case, either in Portugal or the UK.
Unfortunately, only 1 of these books has been released to date (Amarals) based on half of the case files (the POI files only), so until the remainder of the Portuguese files are released (currently held by OG and PJ as part of the on-going case) or Redwood/other brings out a book based on his 'experience' of the case, then this is just more of the same.
Save your money and donate it to Amaral instead, he needs his livelihood back.

Now there is a radical thought.
Reading the book BEFORE criticising it
We could extend that to seeing the trailer, and then the documentary BEFORE criticising them . . .
Sorry, That is Heresy, I know.

New book,lies and deception
Hi MRNOODLES
I hope this book is not making reference to the procure of the church keys and who stored a certain silver vehicle for a short while on a certain couple's behalf, who then caught an easyjet flight back to the UK before the Portugal, PJ had time to go to Court for papers that could have decided travel restrictions to them?

I doubt CR will do anything. They left the other book "Fake(d) Abduction (from Brian ???) alone, and that one was in English.
IMO Dr Amaral was attacked because of what he knows. They know he knows, but they don't know when he is going to publish all. That's why he has to be destroyed, at all cost, the sooner the better.

Also new book out in Holland naming the people who perhaps inadvertently helped to move or store the body - allegedly, obviously !
Fascinating !
It will be interesting to know who the Dutch author named as body disposal helper or helpers.
