Will the search for Madeleine McCann ever be successful? The missing child’s parents have reportedly been notified by authorities that the search for their daughter may only last for another stretch of six months, which could mean hope for finding her is dwindling to an all time low. The Daily Express reports that police have been [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to “solve” the disappearance of the British girl.
However, a stipulation apparently hangs over the 2 Million British Pounds granted to investigators. The search for Madeleine McCann is expected to wrap up in approximately six months. While the parents of the missing child are happy that the search will continue, it’s apparent that the search will cease operations in as early as Spring of 2016.
Over the course of more than a decade the search for little Maddie has cost British taxpayers an estimated 10.1 Million British Pounds.
Well, that knocks that article on the head, doesn't it? "Over the course of more than a decade". They don't even know what they are writing about.

Why do they make these stories up?
The £2m budgeting story came from a three line parliamentary written reply, with no mention of time limits, conditions, or an end to OG.
Wasn’t it Chelsea Hoffman who was going to publish yet another ‘definitive account’ of the case a few years ago?

[size=18][b]out.
Their official spokesperson, Clarence Mitchell, reports that large chunk of the Fund has been set aside for private search when the official search is closed.
They already assumed the official search and full scale alleged "murder" investigation will come up empty handed.

The winding down bit came from team McCann presumably.
Would Grange have told them that? Extremely unlikely !
What seems certain is that Grange is not searching for a living child.
Whatever the "something be" - intangible as in faith in a resolution, or something tangible as in strong evidence to support a resolution, to convince Home Office to continue to fund it, it seems Home Office bought the "something" Grange sold to them.

Too late for a reconstruction IMO, but they should have made the Crime Watch close to a reconstruction.
Reconstruction using involved parties would only alert the Mcs & friends to get themselves armed with lawyers ....
Not that they can refuse to go back to PDL if asked by SY, without making them look suspicious, but the media frenzy would be uncontainable /uncontrollable and will probably jeopardise investigators future steps...

"The McCanns are extremely grateful, that the inquiry will go on"
What complete & utter tosh. For anyone else that had lost a daughter they wouldn't be extremely grateful that the inquiry continues, they'd be apoplectic with rage that the world's greatest detectives were about to give up in 6 months without a single sniff in nearly 4 years. They'd demand a public inquiry, questions to the home/foreign secretary, an investigation by the media. But not the McCs.

Which 'Mockumentary' farce?Grande Finale wrote:(I think the Mcca's found this out to their cost in the "Mockumentary" farce"
Was it:
1. Panorama, BBC, 19 Nov 2007?
or
2. The Channel 4/Mentorn Media documentary, 7 May 2009?
or
3. BBC Crimewatch McCann Special, 14 October 2013?

So assuming a standard officer on the case is paid circa £30k, 40 officers for 6 months = roughly £600,000.
No extra expenses for them since they are apparently just sat around ignoring the obvious.
Where does the other £1.4m go?

The charade continues
Hi Woodbine,
Ruperts cohorts will be busy trying their hardest to stop the case from running it's course or have it shelved as this would suit there requirements, just take a look at the Crowns non prosecution of the people involved in the Daniel Morgan Murder 10 March 1987?
NoTW sticky little fingers, eh Rupert?

Don’t think this is anything new, but a Met Police F.O.I. disclosure for w/e 13th September 2015 just published:
We don’t know who has requested it and it is just the same info previously disclosed iirc.
Freedom of Information Request Reference No:
I note you seek access to the following information:
Please can you confirm the total cost to date of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
DECISION
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
The costs incurred by the Metropolitan Police Service’s investigation (Operation Grange) are:
£1.9m for 2011/2012, £2.8m for 2012/2013, £2.6m for 2013/2014 and £2.4m for 2014/2015
Therefore total is £9.7m.
The costs for 2015/2016 are anticipated to be broadly in line with those of previous years.

Its disingenious to call it a charade and considering this is one of the most famous cases the money is well spent. Individuals have been unable to take on this case due to the disparity in arms. If operation Grange shuts down they would have certainly got away with it. Its noteworthy that £1000 was given by MPS to amarals crowdfund. Im not sure what people otherwise expect of a case such as this? That there has been no leaks and the Mccanns aren't yet running for cover is a good thing. They will be interviewed when all the ducks are in a row.

The meaning of disingenuous
@ loopzasaloop I think you meant 'disingenuous' rather than 'disingenious'.loopzdaloop wrote:It's disingenious [sp. disingenuous] to call it a charade and considering this is one of the most famous cases the money is well spent. Now, people may, if they wish, say that they think I am plain wrong in calling Operation Grange 'an expensive charade'.
But not one person could possibly deny that it is a view I have honestly and sincerely held, and stuck to, since the day Rupert Murdoch's News International CEO, Rebekah Brooks, threatened the Prime Minister into setting it up.

You wrote: "The money [on Operation Grange] is well spent. That...the McCanns aren't yet running for cover is a good thing. They will be interviewed when all the ducks are in a row".
REPLY: I couldn't disagree more. To believe that, you would have to believe that all the following were con-artists:
1. The Prime Minister when he said that Grange was to 'help the family'
2. DCS Hamish Campbell (of Barry George notoriety) who established that the Grange remit was to 'help the family', and
3. DCI Redwood, who repeatedly told the public: 'The McCanns and their Tapas 7 friends are not suspects'.
Where your faith in Operation Grange comes from I just cannot comprehend

The expensive charade continues
Hi Tony Bennett,
Completely agree with your comments to Loopzdaloop about "Operation Grange" on who it was to assist remit abduction?
Rupert's cohorts have their fingerprints of involvement in the Madeleine McCann obfuscation?
In the search for the Truth, just take a look at who was involved in the cover up of the Daniel Morgan Murder in London and the involvement of Police officers receiving gifts from a certain proprietors Editors to grease the oily palms for stories?
I wonder if the SIO Hamish Campbell in Operation Grange would appear, along with Andy Coulson,Rebekah Brooks, David Cameron and good old Rupert, with his spin meisters of deception?
Alex Cameron defended fragrant Rebekah in the phone hacking trial and his brother, Dave met on Rupert's yacht, along with Peter Mandelson before final decisions reached on BSkyB deal?
"Oh what a web we weave in order to deceive"?

Sudden news - Operation Grange to be scaled down
3pm - Wed 28 October - Brunty has just been on Sky News confirming that the McCann investigation is to be radically scaled down. Only 4 officers will now work on it. Huge amounts of money has been spent and no arrests have been made etc etc
