UKIP - an opportunity for a fresh approach to Madeleine's disappearance?
I've emailed Nigel Farage to ask what UKIP's stance is on the issue of Madeleine's disappearance. Dare we hope that he will embrace the thorny political hot potato?
When I asked Meg Munn - my MP - I received a response to the effect that she couldn't comment on an on-going police investigation.
I will let you know when I hear back from Nigel Farage. Please feel free to email your own questions or comments http://www.nigelfaragemep.co.uk/contact
Someone, surely, will eventually pick this up and run with it.

Nice one, but I rather think he will stick to the political official line. Camerooonee and the milipede will crush him out of the game. Incidentally has anyone ever asked Camerooone his opinion on the McCann style of parenting? He has after all spent millions of taxpayers money on them. Can we have a debate upon the McCann model of childcare perhaps?suzysu wrote:I've emailed Nigel Farage to ask what UKIP's stance is on the issue of Madeleine's disappearance. You might as well ask Mickey Mouse. I would say the best strategy with regards MP's is to wait until immediately after the general election and approach all of the virgin (new) MP's who have never been to Parliament before. You might find that some of them have not been indoctrinated into the system yet. Especially MPs who achieve a surprise result. You might find that some of them are eager to make their name.

This would be the same Camerooone who left his own daughter in the pub and didn't realise til he got home?Lands_end wrote:Nice one, but I rather think he will stick to the political official line. This would be the same Cameron, Prime Minister of UK, who has gone beyond the pale in the promotion of 'kitchen talk' (all politicians apart from Farage are doing kitchen talk at the moment and they're all wheeling out the wives - God Bless America for this crap idea). Cameron has wheeled out the wife to talk about how their marriage got stronger as a result of the struggle to cope with their disabled son (who, bless him didn't survive). Of course, this incredible couple had the best of paid care to help them. It was paid care who left his daughter in the pub. You just can't get the staff nowadays.IAmNotMerylStreep wrote:This would be the same Camerooone who left his own daughter in the pub and didn't realise til he got home?
This would also be the same Cameron who promoted his human side (after his bff Rebekah Brooks 'persuaded' him - see Leveson Inquiry nonsense) by ordering SY to open up a review.
Then there is Clarence, dear old Clarence who wasn't present when his wife had a miscarriage - much too busy with the McCann case. Clarence didn't miss the opportunity to demonstrate his 'caring' side by publishing this.
Then there are the McCanns, whose children were systematically parked off with nannies and helpers - even on holiday. A family holiday.
I could go on.....

Re: UKIP - an opportunity for a fresh approach to Madeleine's disappearance?
and reminds me of the scenario I see every time I go on holiday ie. 2 middle class professionals who look totally lost on holiday because they are suddenly thrown together for 2 weeks with their kids and can't get their heads around it . Back home they are always 'sooo busy' - even for the children and obviously have visions of their pre sprog holidays - let the towels flutter on the beach and go to sleep . No the 'family' holiday has suddenly become a 'nightmare' as actually spending quality time with their brood becomes a chore . Shove them in 'kids club' all day and then crack on as they wish . Sad really .aquila wrote:This would be the same Cameron, Prime Minister of UK, who has gone beyond the pale in the promotion of 'kitchen talk' (all politicians apart from Farage are doing kitchen talk at the moment and they're all wheeling out the wives - God Bless America for this crap idea). So far...
....an automated response saying thanks for contacting Nigel Farage.
Nothing more.
Hmmm. I know I'm only one vote but even then it would be good to hear his stance on this issue. Grrrrr.
When is SOMEONE going to pick this up and run with it? What is stopping them?

UKIP did make the headlines on the Madeleine McCann case in 2010 with this story, reported here on CMOMM:suzysu wrote:....an automated response saying thanks for contacting Nigel Farage.

https://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t864-helene-davies-green-attacked-in-the-sun
The Sun newspasper accused her of distributing 'vile' leaflets.
UKIP was put under pressure to deselect Helene Davies-Green from being a Parliamentary candidate.
They refused, and IIRC put out a statement emphasising UKIP's commitment to 'freedom of speech' etc.
Despite all the fuss, UKIP's vote held up well in the South Cambridgeshire constituency, and Helene got a better-than-average result.
Once again, in 2014, Helene Davies-Green stood for UKIP - this time in the District Council elections for the 'Bar Hill' ward.
She came 2nd out of 4 candidates, pushing Labour into 3rd place and the Liberal Democrats into 4th. He 397 votes gave her 25% of the vote:
Bar Hill – Conservative hold
1st Bunty Waters (Con) 728
2nd Helene Davies-Green (UKIP) 394
3rd John Shepherd (Lab) 263
4th Andy Pellew (Lib Dem) 214

She is standing again for Parliament in the same South Cambridgeshire seat on 7th May this year

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Re: UKIP - an opportunity for a fresh approach to Madeleine's disappearance?
That was going to be one of the next questions. Could you imagine someone like David Dimbleby drawing a comparison? "Prime minister, isn't your release of taxpayers funding to the Madeleine McCann case more to do with your own appearance of guilt at having left your own young daughter alone, in a pub if I remember?"IAmNotMerylStreep wrote:This would be the same Camerooone who left his own daughter in the pub and didn't realise til he got home?Lands_end wrote:Nice one, but I rather think he will stick to the political official line. For the record...
... I haven't had a response from Nigel Farage.
Presumably if a reply isn't forthcoming in the run up to the election it never will be.
Shame on you, UKIP and Nigel Farage.
Maybe I won't vote for you after all!

Re: UKIP - an opportunity for a fresh approach to Madeleine's disappearance?
Just thinking about this - I used to email Cameron on the subject stating that I could not vote for him unless he showed the political courage to end the charade of the 'case of missing M M Cann'. I used to think I would defect to UKIP as I could expect more actin and less interference.suzysu wrote:...Still no reply. However, what can Farage say on the subject? In his defence, he doesnt have many options whilst there is a live investigation ongoing. Until that concludes, he doesnt really have a chance to take a stance. Justice needs to be seen to be done. That depends on the outcome of the investigation. If it is a whitewash, plain to see, then Farage could give a decent answer... but at the moment he cant really give much of a comment. He would need to be convinced of the evidence against the perpetrators in order to take a stance, surely? So.... give him a chance!!
I will not vote Labour as they were responsible for the initial political interference into the case - seconding Clarrie etc etc etc .

Fair comment, and it is indeed an on-going investigation. Or should I say, 'investigation'?HelenMeg wrote:Just thinking about this - I used to email Cameron on the subject stating that I could not vote for him unless he showed the political courage to end the charade of the 'case of missing M M Cann'. I have received the following response,
"Thank you for your email to Mr Farage. I am afraid that we have no record of your earlier email, sometimes the European Parliament's inbox filter is over-zealous. Of course please re-send it but I must mention that we have a large backlog of emails and Mr Farage is not in the office at the moment.
Kind regards

The office of Nigel Farage, Brussels"
I have re-sent my initial question. As readers of this forum (and other sources of facts) are presumably well aware, there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that the McCanns were involved in Madeleine's disappearance. Such a huge number of people is actively following the case who feel that an injustice is being done that it would be strange if Nigel Farage (or anyone in the public eye) were to be unaware of the disquiet regarding the way in which the affair is being dealt. He is in a position of influence; that is why I am interested in his opinion.
