FoI Request - Information about Scotland Yard's handling of the 'Internet Troll Dossier' given to them on 9 September
By the way, has anyone noted that 9 September - or '9/11' was
1. The date of the Twin Towers attacks?
2. The subject of Summers & Swan's previous book?
3. The date this year on which Summers & Swan's book 'Looking for Madeleine' was published? and
4. The date this year on which 'jayelles' (as is widely thought) handed her dossier to Scotland Yard?
______________________________________________________________
Here is my FoIAct request, submitted earlier today:
6 October 2014
Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
Regarding action by the police with regard to a dossier of 'tweets' and alleged internet abuse about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, handed to Scotland Yard on 9 September 2014, which has led to the reported suicide of one of those named in the dossier
I write with reference to this statement by 'a Scotland Yard spokesman':
QUOTE: A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm we received a letter and documentation on September 9 which was passed to officers from Operation Grange. They are assessing its contents and consulting with the CPS and the McCann family."
Please list all occasions on which officers from Scotland Yard 'consulted with the McCann family' during the period 1 September to 5 October inclusive about this dossier, stating in each case whether this was in person, by letter, by telephone, by e-mail, by video conference, or otherwise.
Similarly, please list all occasions on which officers from Scotland Yard had any contact with staff or management at SKYNews during the period 1 September to 5 October inclusive about this dossier, stating in each case whether this was in person, by letter, by telephone, by e-mail, by video conference, or otherwise.
Yours faithfully
Anthony Bennett

The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

9/9 Tony, not 9/11.
Americans and their silly date system.
You know they are going to accuse you of being vexatious again.

Yes, thank you. My notorious fallibillity exposed yet again.BlueBag wrote:9/9 Tony, not 9/11.

Yet the handing-in of the 'Internet Troll Dossier' two days BEFORE Summers @ Swan's book was published still looks like very handy timing indeed, and will do nothing to dispel suggestions that there has been a co-ordinated attempt by TPTB to talk up the urgent need to deal with and control 'haters' and 'trolls' ("even if what they're doing is not illegal" - Theresa May)

The way I am reading things is, the dossier was of no significance to the OG. It appears that they weren't going to do anything about it, but correct me if I am wrong. So, how did Sky News, and Martin Brunt in particular, get involved? Sweepyface tweeted on 29th Sept? that Martin Brunt was following her? Could it be that OG wasn't acting quick enough for those who compiled the dossier, and turned their attention elsewhere?
Just a thought!

I'd like to know who has the right to try question a person publically before the police interview them?

Agree, sallypelt. Why would OG, which is investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, be looking at a few pages of tweets criticising her parents, it's not part of OG's remit. I think there's something very dodgy and sinister going on. Maybe the parents are expecting bad news. I would also ask WHY Sky News and Martin Brunt got involved.

Surely this is a thing you hand in to the local police??
Why would someone think that an 'investigating unit for the disappearance of a child' be interested in this?
It's like calling in the SAS to drive the Green Goddesses!

Agreed.
Dossier handed in by jayelles or persons unknown on Tuesday 9 September.
Presumably handed in to OpGrange, though we don't know.
OpGrange have been aware since they started of the forums and Twitter and blogs and quite a few really horrible tweets, the like of which we would never see on CMOMM. They have done nothing about this for three years.
So, a week later, 16 September...nothing happening.
Another week goes by...nothing happening.
Then there is some sort of planning meeting.
Everyone lined up:
SKY News' job - get nasty troll on TV
Times' newspapers' job - leak story about £55,000 libel settlement
Clarence Micthell's job - get one of the dailies to run an article by Gerry McCann (the Guardian agrres)
Gerry McCann's job - get ready to write article making comments about how beastly (a) the press still is and (b) internet trolls are - and go on the BBC and say 'haters must be punished severely'
Jim Gamble's job - make comments about how nasty internet trolls must be punished, stand side-by-side wth McCanns as he's done for years (having said in the past that paedophiles need to be treated sympathetically and not sent to prison).
Everybody plays their part, with David Cameron telling the UN that 'extremists', such as those who have question marks about 9/11 ansd 7/7, must be controlled even though they are breaking no law, Theresa May does the same at Conservative Party conference, and establishment writers Summers and Swan write a book saying that the main problem in the McCann case is the activity of 'haters'.
Is the scene being set for something?
