In an act of unprecedented, callous self promotion the #McCann couple have used poor April Jones to get on front page of Sunday Star.

I don't think so either, Portia. I guess they may be playing their game ?
But ... please ... I can only support this, if it is really for the "better" ...
Meanwhile trying to avoid to use the "green" emoticon ...

Well poor April's parents no doubt feel much better for that, particularly as they have several horrendous weeks ahead of them, hearing things no parent should ever hear. This is clearly the next best thing to a Papal blessing.

If you were a respectable medical professional, a doctor, would you not feel ashamed to be on a cover like the above?
I would.
I would.

Brilliant sub-editing I think.

They will be praying for themselves when the Police come for them.
Will a billionaire friend, Sir Branson, Sir Phillip, whatever, get a private jet ready for them this time round? I think NOT.
Will kate say "Portugal is preparing itself"?
Oh dear...

Re: Daily Star tomorrow - McCanns: April is in our prayers
This really is the depths now - exploitation of another child for the sake of publicity. The newspaper should not have published this story. Just days ago Mrs McCann was declaring unconditional forgiveness for the paedophile "abductor" of her own child. The paedophile killer of April Jones is right in the middle of a murder trial and judging from the media reports, the defenceless little girl's suffering was unimaginable. This is shameless.

Re: Daily Star tomorrow - McCanns: April is in our prayers
agree, shameless. but is it the newspaper making a front page out of a simple sympathetic word from the couple? the tabloids are bound to conflate the 2 stories, given the age of the children, anything to sell the paper.

I believe it is Desmond getting his own back. He's been bidding his time. The McCanns can't complain about the headline if it's accurate.

Re: Daily Star tomorrow - McCanns: April is in our prayers
Why did the McCanns hold the yesterday's ceremony outside, and not inside like everyone else, it's not as if there was a large crowd? IMO it was for cameras, and I'm sorry to say it but I think everything is done for the cameras. Mrs McCann is very media savvy, if she was asked to comment on April she could easily have declined. She knows better than anyone that the media hang on her every word.

Maybe camera is not allowed inside the church, or maybe they only go to church using the key given to them when no one is there.
The crowd was probably there for the war heros, and the Mccanns tapped in on that for photo opportunity, and turned on the tears for the camera.
Who informed the press about the event? I think we all know the answer.

MCCANNS THINKING OF APRIL
5th May 2013 By Tracey Kandohla
THE
parents of Madeleine McCann remembered murdered schoolgirl April Jones
during a service to pray for the return of their missing daughter.
Tearful Kate and Gerry spared a thought for the tragic youngster and her family despite their own heartache.
Maddie’s
great aunt Janet Kennedy lit a candle for April on Friday evening – the
day a court heard her mum Coral and dad Paul’s agonising recollections
of the night last October when the five-year-old went missing.
Addressing
well-wishers on the sixth anniversary of Maddie’s disappearance, Janet
said: “I am the first here to light a candle to remember April and her
parents.
“This week has been extremely trying for them, to say the least. They are very much in our thoughts.
As Janet paid tribute, Kate, 45, struggled for composure and was comforted by Gerry.
She
sobbed as she told a gathering in her home village of Rothley, Leics:
“It’s not just the pain of having a missing child, it’s the confusion,
uncertainty and living in limbo.”
Kate then recited the poem The
Contradiction, her voice faltering as she read: “I make you there when
you’re not there. I cannot hold you, yet I do. How can you be so near
and far?”
Maddie vanished from the family’s holiday flat in Praia da Luz, Portugal, just days before her fourth birthday in May 2007.
At
the time her parents were dining with pals at a nearby restaurant.
Gerry, 45, said: “Six years...sometimes it feels like yesterday and
today it feels like an entire lifetime.
“It has been a very rocky
road for our family and those close to us. But the support we have had
from them all and the general public has really kept us going.”
He broke down in tears, pausing before continuing: “We don’t actually take anything for granted.
“Thank you for coming here and being with us. It is hugely appreciated.”
As the 50-strong crowd applauded him, children including Maddie’s siblings, eight-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, lit candles.
The youngsters gathered near the village’s war memorial where a candle burns around the clock for Maddie.

Wow, 50 is described as "strong"? Blimkey heck.......
Did the Mccanns spare a prayer for Tia Sharp in the same manner ? Not that I remember.
It's just another of their publicity stunt.

Re: Daily Star tomorrow - McCanns: April is in our prayers
Kate will 'forgive' April's 'abductor' if it gets her in the papers!
She just won't tell April's parents.
Will K McCann TELL April's parents to FORGIVE the murdering B88tard that killed their child?

Re: Daily Star tomorrow - McCanns: April is in our prayers
The McCanns can always be relied upon to display thundering bad taste. To have their ugly mugs associated with April Jones' little face - kidnapping the April Jones story for their own publicity - is beyond belief. :bad:
Who is going to be next? It's a trick they've played before. Mrs. Jones: take note of this Daily Mail article:
McCanns slammed by father of missing Spanish girl for putting Madeleine on poster with his daughter
By LUCY BALLINGER
Last updated at 16:55 18 February 2008
Kate and Gerry McCann have been threatened with legal action by the father of missing five-year-old girl after they included her in a poster campaign appealing for information about Madeleine's disappearance.
The campaign was launched last week and thousands of A3 prints have been sent to schools, churches, restaurants and public places in Spain and Portugal in a bid to keep the disappearance of the missing children in the public eye.
The posters have a picture of Madeleine side-by-side with one of Mari Luz Cortes, a Spanish girl who went missing on January 13, 120 miles from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz - where Madeleine disappeared last May.

Hello Tiggs,
My my, are we up and about early!
Well, what with the nice cuppa and the sunshine beside us:
The McCs ought to sue the Daily Star for portraying them as so odious and in such a compromising & ridiculing manner!
Horrible picture hovering above their heads, surrounding captions couldn't be more associative, if the editor had wanted to select them on a purpose of his own;
Sunday Express: drip, drip, drip; it must be like Chinese water torture...
Come on guys: be a real supermon and superdad, and just 'fess up!

Coffee just burbling on the cooker, meanwhile here is Joanna Morais on the Cortez case - another case of the killer pleading 'accidental' death - apparently the poor girl suffocated after falling down the stairs. April's killer is also pleading accidental death as did Huntley. They're all of a type.
http://joana-morais.blogspot.com/2008/03/mccanns-now-want-to-question-mari-luz.html
TM may have many reasons to mourn, Hacked off is not doing well, Leveson put on ice, stage-managed mourning at the church is being milked for all it is worth - even room temperature IQs will wonder why it's the McCanns that are linked to April's photograph.
The days of throwing a £ 1500,00 pp roof garden party are long over. Now these headlines as you pointed out. Done before too imo, see below..
Silence from the pink one is good, this is what he said about Snr. Cortez: Clarence Mitchell’s outrage with the Cortés family:
“It is shameful that Mari Luz’s father has brought himself to complain,” was the reaction of Clarence Mitchell, the spokesman for the McCann couple, in response to the request from Juan Jose Cortés that the posters with the photo of his daughter beside Madeleine should not be distributed.

That's shocking! Calling the father of a dead child "shameful" for objecting to his daughters image being hijacked without permission. What's shameful, Mr Mitchell, is all the outrage and fury your "team" so freely feel if anyone dares disobey the McRules or refuses to play your games. Humility and grace win hearts and minds Mr Mitchell, not hot air and bullying words.
