There was also a lump of hair in the back of the car if I remember correctly but they didn't have the skin part on them as you get when they're ripped out of a scalp but GA said that with the advancement of DNA they may be crucial evidence in the future.

Madeleine McCann police in Germany insist they have written to her parents twice

Madeleine McCann's parents Gerry and Kate, of Rothley, Leicestershire, previously said they hadn't received a letter saying there was proof their daughter had died.

German prosecutors say they have sent two letters to Madeleine McCann’s parents about the inquiry into the prime suspect.
It comes after criticism of the way Gerry and Kate McCann have been treated by German authorities probing convicted rapist Christian Brueckner, 43.

The Mirror previously reported that prosecutors said they wrote to the McCanns saying there is proof Madeleine is dead, but the British couple said they had not received such a letter.
Now prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters has said: “I have written to Mr and Mrs McCann twice. He said the first time was to forewarn the family about the German authorities publicly announcing on June 3 that this is a murder inquiry and that Madeleine “is dead”.
Mr Wolters added they wrote to the family at a later date too.

So Wolters reckons he's sent 2 letters now according to The Mirror. Of course he also said he had "concrete evidence that Madeleine is dead." Then he followed it up with "but she might still be alive", or words to that effect.
He has managed to turn this whole sorry charade into an even bigger farce than it already is.
Absolutely shameful.

What I don't understand is why the German authorities would write to the McCanns anyway. Surely it would be up to SY or even the PJ as the crime was committed in Portugal. What has it got to do with the German Police?

It all seems a load of baloney to keep the fires burning for the likes of DM, forgetting about the demise of Madeleine. She seems a distant memory to most of them and is now just a cash cow to too many people.

There are people who can put a stop to it, but of course if they do, all hell will break loose. As Tungendhat QC said, "what if it is established that Madeleine McCann was not abducted".

Who is trying to keep the truth of the demise of a 3 year old girl under wraps, I doubt it's the PJ so who does that leave?

When I first heard about Madeleine's disappearance on May 4th 2007, I suspected the parents. Their story was not credible. 13 years later and nothing has changed my suspicion that there was paedophilia within that group and that Madeleine died by accident and her body couldn't be presented for autopsy Sad

There have been many many "patsy's" in those 13 years and I suspect this German guy is another one of them. The difference here is that German police are involved - how is that? Is it not a Portuguese case? How do they have the authority to mail the Mcs?

Why did the German police go to the media without first confirming that the Mcs had received their letter?

The latest ripping yarn .... the German bloke, Herr Volter, didn't actually write two letters to the McCanns, they were written by German cops and sent to the McCanns via Scotland Yard.

It was the northern bungling saucy chip munching British cops that failed to pass the letters on.

Meanwhile, southbound, the Portuguese sardine munching cops are refusing to release a bit of cloth for further forensic examination. The bit of cloth was cut from the bed cover under the window in the bedroom occupied by the McCann children - not Madeleine's bed please note! The Portuguese forensic laboratory first recorded a very faint detection of semen, after a later repeat analysis it was recorded as saliva. The cloth was later sent to the British FSS for re-examination. The Portuguese were asked to match the FSS forensic DNA analysis results with previous occupants of apartment 5a. The saliva sample was reported to have been from the son, a two year old, of a previous occupant.

Such samples are routinely destroyed by forensic laboratories unless specifically asked to retain for evidence before a court of law. I'm not aware of such a request being made - it seems unlikely at that stage of the investigation as there was no prosecution on the horizon.

Are we seriously expected to believe the stain on the bed cover, be it semen or saliva, came from the German prisoner?

Seriously, what police force in the civilized world would write to the parents of a missing child telling them they know the child is dead, had been murdered, but they haven't concrete evidence to prove it.

More so a police force that isn't even involved with the investigation into the disappearance of the said child.

This nonsense is not even worthy of attention let alone discussion.

Copied the 2015 story of Inga Gehricke who went missing from a family barbecue when Bruckner was in the area.

Mobile phones beloning to Gerry and Russell were traced to an old farmhouse not far from where they were staying.

A long call was earlier made by Gerry and Russell

Blood was found on a towel (DNA on cloth)

More coincidences?

The fact there is disparity between what the police say and what the McCanns say is a good sign in my opinion. I have a slight, although very thin, piece of hope that they’re finally after the McCanns but want to leave them and the rest of the world in the dark for as long as possible by using this German as a decoy. Maybe they have evidence the McCanns actually used the campervan or farmhouse, and who says they are actually Brueckner’s? The police often spreads misinformation to make the suspects they are really after nervous, hoping they will start talking about it to others while being on surveillance. The police say they have evidence Madeleine is dead and the only real evidence I can think of is the dogs. Obviously if they are really after the McCanns they can’t say their hypothesis is based on the dogs because that would immediately put the spotlight on the McCanns. It would in my opinion explain the disparity between the McCanns and the Police, they’re pressured by the outside world to inform these poor parents but at the same time don’t want to tell them what evidence they have against them.

That’s an interesting point and I’d love to think that’s what’s happening.

I agree with you, what you're saying makes perfect sense and I'm sure it is a well used tactic but don't you think the McCanns aren't smart enough to have worked that one out already and that is why they are distancing themselves from it by denying they have received any letters?

The McCanns know that Madeleine is dead anyway and have done since 3rd May 2007 or whatever day she died on, Eddie & Keela told them that, but they knew before Eddie & Keela arrived on the scene.

They don't need any letters from anyone to tell them.
