Kate McCann has seen the royalties from her book about tragic daughter Madeleine’s disappearance dry up.
The former GP donated just £1,239 from sales of Madeleine to help fund the hunt for the miss-ing youngster last year – after providing more than £84,000 in post-tax royalties the year before.
Madeleine’s Fund – Leaving No Stone Unturned was set up in 2007 and raked in £2million in donations over 10 months.
It has £844,000 in assets after making £21,000 in the past financial year. That is also a slump on its 2017/18 profits of £100,000.

Kate and husband Gerry, from Rothley, Leics, were on holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007 when Madeleine, three, disappeared from their flat.
The 51-year-olds have never given up hope the youngster, who would now be 16, is still alive.
In June, Scotland Yard’s Operation Grange was extended for another year with £300,000 in Home Office funding.
The probe, which has cost nearly £12million, has investigated more than
60 persons of interest.
Portuguese police shelved their own investigation in 2008.

They must be DESPERATE for the Operation to come to an end, so they can distribute the 844k amongst themselves, as they are allowed to under the articles of association.
Not all at once, obviously, but over the years, just written off as "expenses, various. Misc."
until it has all gone.
Like a nice little Pension Pot. Quite apart from the investments we were told about some years ago !

Technically I think they could have had 'donations' of £1m over the year (they obviously haven't!), together with expenditure of £1m and the accounts would read exactly as they are.
Without publishing an income/expenditure account, which we haven't seen since 2014, we can never actually tell how much they have had out of the fund over the years.
'Search blow' is clearly a complete nonsense however, as they are clearly spending none of the reserves on searching.

Methinks this is a handy little explanation to account for diminishing and/or relocated funds, as identified in the accounts over the years. They, the McCann team being such a watchfull eye, must be aware of the cybernaughties insatiable appetite for all things McCann - especially The Find Madeleine Co Ltd.
I doubt KATE MCCANN'S book 'madeleine', has seen much in the way of sales since about the year 2012 - still, I'm sure it was a good marketing ploy.
That aside, I don't think I would be too disappointed if I had £844,000 squirreled away somewhere - for a rainy day naturally!

Any monies should be given back to the taxpayer imo.PeterMac wrote:They must be DESPERATE for the Operation to come to an end, so they can distribute the 844k amongst themselves, as they are allowed to under the articles of association.

I am sickened that the authorities have not asked for money to be put toward the taxpayer funded search.
