Madeleine McCann's parents urge Australian TV crew to hand over 'new evidence' to police amid claims of 'major' breakthrough
An Australian documentary programme, due to air on Sunday, claims it has discovered a fresh lead in the high-profile case
The parents of Madeleine McCann have urged an Australian TV crew to hand over any "new evidence" to police, it is reported.
A documentary programme, due to air on Sunday, claims it has discovered a fresh lead in the high-profile case.
It says the lead could bring the search for the missing youngster - who vanished in Portugal in May 2007 - closer to an end.
Now, Maddie's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have reportedly said they want any "credible fresh lines" about the case to be given to police.
A family spokesman called on TV bosses to contact officers about the clues amid the claims of a "major" breakthrough.
He told the Daily Star : “If the Australian TV show contains any credible, fresh lines of inquiry they should, of course, have been given immediately to the police.”
A teaser video for Channel 7's Sunday Night programme suggests a significant new lead in the case has been unearthed.
Featuring a top criminologist, a forensic scientist and the former lead Portuguese investigator, it claims to deliver a “landmark TV event”.
The programme will also feature Kate and Gerry, who discuss what happened on the night Maddie vanished, News Hub reports.
Kate apparently recalls how she screamed, "Madeleine's gone, someone's taken her," after realising her daughter had disappeared.
The parents, from Rothley, Leicestershire, are bracing themselves for the 10th anniversary of their little girl's disappearance.
They cling onto a glimmer of hope that she could still be alive.
Maddie, then just three years old, vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.
Earlier this week, a nanny who looked after Maddie told the Daily Mirror how Kate and Gerry were plunged into despair and panic when the horrifying truth she had vanished sank in .
The former child minder said she is still haunted by the image of Gerry desperately trying to find their missing daughter while she tried to comfort weeping Kate who cried: “They’ve taken her.”

Funny how the "fresh leads" always occur around the anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance. I wonder where this new "fresh lead" will take us?Keitei wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Madeleine McCann's parents urge Australian TV crew to hand over 'new evidence' to police amid claims of 'major' breakthrough
Questions i have submitted via private message to them so it wouldn't be lost in the comments.
They are long since i don't like using compound questions:
Hi Honeys happy friday.
I have a few questions for you;
1) On gerry's blog he wrote a mea culpa: "Sometimes people do things for reasons that even they cannot understand." "An act of madness, an accident or sudden impulse can lead to consequences that people may never have imagined or intended." "Faced with such a situation we believe any human soul will ultimately suffer torment and feelings of guilt and fear."
Why did he write write what seems to be an admission of guilt?
2) Kate said: "It really isn't easy," coping. "Some days are better than others. ... There's days when you think, 'I can't do this anymore,' and you just want to press a button, and we're all gone, and it's all finished, and we're all together and gone. Wherever. But you can't, you know. Just occasionally you'll have a -- if you're having a really bad day, which we do. And you can't help but think that."
Here kate tells us Maddie is dead with the use of the word ALL.
This is only possible if she knew Maddie was dead otherwise she committed murder-suicide and left Maddie an orphan
Why did she tell us she was willing to commit a murder-suicide in order to be with Maddie if she believed Maddie was still alive?
3) Is telling the world she was willing to commit murder-suicide so they could all be together the language and behavior of an innocent parent or the language and behavior of a guilty parent with something to hide?
4) 'Breaking down in tears, distraught Kate said of the Portuguese police: "They want me to lie - I'm being framed. "Police don't want a murder in Portugal and all the publicity about them not having paedophile laws here, so they're blaming us."'
If kate believed Maddie was still alive, why did she introduce the word MURDER rather than the expected word ABDUCTION?
5) If she knew Maddie was dead and it was an accident, why did she use the word murder?
6) Susan, said: "She told me she has difficulty sleeping and wakes during the night. I asked: 'Do the twins come and wake you up?' Kate said: "No, it's Madeleine. She comes in.'
Why did kate tell her mother that Maddie visits her?
Dead people haunt, live people don't.
Kate is again telling us Maddie is dead and she knew .
7) Gerry tells us here that Maddie is dead: there’s no evidence that Madeleine is dead and THERE'S NO EVIDENCE TO IMPLICATE US IN HER DEATH.
Maddie being dead is also supported by their spokesman clarence mitchell when he said : "KATE AND GERRY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MADELEINE'S DEATH"
After these admissions, why do they still maintain the claim she is still alive and not seriously harmed?
8 )The mccann's have repeatedly told us there is no evidence of Maddie being seriously harmed.
What is their definition of serious harm?
9) Regarding the crying incident. Gerry "Anybody with young children will understand that children cry; they wake up at night.
During that week there was one night, errr… and we can't give too much detail because it's part of the investigation file but there was one night where Madeleine came through and one of the other, errr… twins were crying, so, you know, and when she did mention to it… it to us and we asked her about it and she just dropped… she was completely fine and we thought,
'Was it when they were bathing, getting them, you know, first putting them down in that period when they're really tired."
Since he asks if it was when they were being bathed or put to bed, who was bathing them and putting them to bed?
If the mccanns had been doing it the question would not have arisen.
10) If it was in their apartment and the mccanns weren't bathing them etc who was?
11) if it was in the apartment and the mccanns were present, why did they not check on the children to reassure them?
12) Since the mccanns asked if it was when they were being bathed etc and they never heard the crying, who was bathing them and putting them to bed and in whose apartment?
13) They allegedly waited until daylight to go out for an hour and after that they were playing tennis, jogging, going to other countries on meet and greets where Maddie was not.
Why did they never physically search as such?
14)How do they say to the allegations that gerry and david payne had an inappropriate discussion about Maddie?
15) Why did kate have a bath and a shower on the Thursday night?
She was in the shower when david payne showed up and she answered the door in a towel.
She then later had a quick bath when gerry came home after playing tennis and before they went to the tapas bar.
Kate, witness-statement 04/05/07 quote: Yesterday, after the daily routine, Madeleine and the twins went into the bedroom and were put in their beds at around 7.30.
The witness and her husband stayed in the apartment, relaxing, until 8.30pm.
She took a bath, did her make-up and drank a glass of New Zealand wine with her husband.
Kate, witness-statement 06/09/07 quote: After showering, at around 6:30/6:40 p.m. and while she was getting dry, she heard somebody knocking at the balcony door.
She wrapped herself in a towel and went to see who was at the balcony door.
This door was closed but not locked as Gerry had left through this door.
She saw that it was David Payne It was around 7:15 p.m. when they put the children to bed and checked they were sleeping, she is sure of this.
As the children were asleep, she dried her hair and put on make up.
Gerry maybe had a shower and they sat on one of the sofas in the living room, she doesn’t know which one.
She had a glass of wine, poured by Gerry, and he had wine or beer.
The wine was from New Zealand, white.
16) Gerry "Anybody with young children will understand that children cry; they wake up at night.
During that week there was one night, errr… and we can't give too much detail because it's part of the investigation file but there was one night where Madeleine came through and one of the other, errr… twins were crying,
Gerry stops mid sentence and self edits himself making it sensitive.
Who were the "other twins"?
Was he going to say other children and then realized how incriminating it would be given the children allegedly all slept in their own apartments rather than in one room babysat by one of the missing adults from the table each night.
The mccanns had the only set of twins so there could not be "other twins"
They are long since i don't like using compound questions:

So, that's alright then!
The TV 'people' have 'solved' the 'mystery'
Iirc, at one time, just saying Madeleine's 'case', was 'a mystery', was almost considered 'libellous', as it was, at the time, 'a nailed on FACT' that she 'HAD been abducted'! (CM, I believe)
DCI Nic 'em, can send back the 'residue' of the recently granted, to OG, £85,000, to Amber Fudd at the Home Office, and disband OG, today................can't she?

Re: Madeleine McCann's parents urge Australian TV crew to hand over 'new evidence' to police amid claims of 'major' breakthrough
Must be time for all the worlds police officers & detectives to retire and leave the investigating to TV crews and The experts at The Sun, after all it's taken two police forces, 10 years and millions of pounds to come up with nothing.
Have this crew really spent time investigating this case or have they had their information direct from the prime suspects and their team? I very much doubt that a TV crew has researched any case to the level that they have solved it.
I bet this lead takes us back to that crazy story about Madeleine being taken by an Australian Victoria Beckham lookalike.
I bet this film was only made because of Richard Halls' latest film.

If they've solved the mystery, where's the body?
Or are they going to wheel out an alive, findable little girl?

this could just be an interpretation of what was said in the Australian press releases.

This weekend Sunday Night features a major investigation into the much-dissected story of UK child, Madeleine McCann, ten years on from her disappearance in Portugal.

The mystery of what happened to Madeleine continues to divide opinion to this day.
An estimated 20 million dollars has been spent in the hunt to find the world’s most famous missing person. Yet the case has never been solved.

Oh dear.
"Every year, the McCann’s have returned to the Ocean Club resort in the town of Praia da Luz – the last place they saw their daughter alive."

KM told Fiona B, in 2014, that 'erm, we haven't. umm, been back to PDL, for a few years now, because people there, er, don't want us to'

Yes. This together with confirmation that lots of people leave their kids in hotel rooms while dining. It's easy to see where this is going. The McCanns have expressed faux concern re. "new evidence" but I suspect are secretly breaking open the bubbly in anticipation of Sunday night. The interviewer only thinks the case might someday be solved if this "new lead" produces results, so no new evidence. It's a load of tosh, pretending to be impartial while plugging the parents claims IMO and portraying doubters as conspiracy loons. Bet the new lead is the "international manhunt" for the Ocean Club worker.Get'emGonçalo wrote:In the 14 minute live video they've already discredited the dogs.

Ahem, the Portuguese police were close to nabbing the two responsible for Maddie's demise and disappearance, ten years ago, and the culprits did a runner! Operation Grange is nothing more than an elaborate farce.

The 'new LEADS' certainly WON'T be attached to E.V.R.D. ( Enhanced Victim Recovery Dogs) 'collars'!

Re: Madeleine McCann's parents urge Australian TV crew to hand over 'new evidence' to police amid claims of 'major' breakthrough
The 'McCann Defence League' have come up with some corkers over the years but the lead-up to this milestone 10th anniversary beats the lot. Embarrassed desperation springs to mind.
Having said that, as I've opined on many an occasion, could the McCann network be taking the proverbial wee-wee out of us mere mortals? Rather like planting a rumour, sitting back and watching with glee as it blossoms - it's not as though this kind of thing hasn't happened in the past, instigated by some cybernaughty prankster.
Bear in mind also it's Sunday - weekend again, just like the old days when the UK press was swamped with McCann tales of woe.
NB: Wonder who the prominent mystery lead investigator will turn out to be, certainly not Mr. Amaral! My money's on David Edgar, failing that I'll wager ex-DCI Andy 'revelation moment' Redwood.

Ah well. Our Antipodean friends showed a flash of broadmindedness recently with a couple of articles off McCann script. It seems it will now be counterbalanced. I sincerely hope Dr. Amaral has not, as claimed, spoken to the program makers as I fear he will be misrepresented.

From what I've read, it rather looks like Kate McCann is braced for yet another 'swooshing' moment - at least she won't need to rehearse..

I'm pretty 'sure' that if ex DCI Redwood can 'shift' the original 'timelines', given by the T9, in 'signed' police statements, (as 'true') FORWARD by 45 minutes, the McS can 'shift' Madeleine to erm, actually, being in 'the bed next to an open window'!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“The scene was stark,” Gerry tells me, "On one bed the twins lay sleeping. In the next lay only the plush cat toy Madeleine was never without."
