Football 'Trust' Empty Football 'Trust'

Footballers' trust to 'fight for justice' over abuse.

Three ex-footballers who say they were sexually abused as children have called for the sport to back an independent trust that will "fight for justice".
The Offside Trust is fronted by former Crewe Alexandra players Andy Woodward and Steve Walters, and ex-Manchester City youth player Chris Unsworth.
Woodward - the first to speak out about abuse - said: "We have all been through it and we just want justice."
The players have waived their right to anonymity to tell their stories.
They broke their silence last month about abuse in football, prompting more people to come forward.
A total of 350 people have alleged they are victims and 55 amateur and professional football clubs are linked to allegations of abuse.
Eighteen police forces have announced investigations.
On Sunday, FA head of equality and safeguarding Sue Ravenlaw told BBC Radio 5 live that the scale of the historical abuse allegations was the biggest challenge for the FA, alongside reassuring young people that football is safer today.
Pointing to the safeguarding regulations that have been in place over the past 10 to 15 years, she said: "I would like to think the culture has changed."
However, she said the scale of the abuse allegations was a "massive wake-up call" for club owners and directors to do the right thing at every level.
-----------------------------------------------------

And the 'solicitor' attending and speaking, at 'launch', of 'trust', today, 5th December,2016, was..................Edward 'this isn't about compensation' Smethurst.

That is what ES said...............'this isn't about compensation'

We'll 'see'.

The 'players' are, imo, entitled to some 'recompence', surely, if they've been 'abused' (and 'clubs', deliberately and consciously, willingly and knowingly, covered up 'abuse', at their 'clubs')

'Sundderland/Johnson' (sic) springs to mind!

And 'that' was THIS YEAR, 2016!

Football 'Trust' Empty Re: Football 'Trust'

thinking

Gerry McCanns' former boss was doctor to a Sottish football team

According to Kate McCanns' book, they contacted Alex Ferguson who assisted with the "Beckham" appeal

A photograph of Madeleine wearing an Everton shirt was well promoted (advertising Everton FC)

There was false claims of Madeleine being spotted at a football match

There was talk of the McCann campaign being advertised during the 2007 cup final

The McCann main benefactor who employed all those dodgy detectives is connected to the football world in many ways

The McCann co-ordinating lawyer, Ed Smethurst, is the director of Prosperity Sports and is connected to the Offside Trust

I am sure that there are other McCann/football links.

Just coincidence of course  :wink4:

'fight for justice' should be what it says- not fight for cash. I don't know what justice is delivered to the abusers if each victim gets rich. But, as someone has already stated, 'we'll see'. As long as the Yorkshire or Leicester police aren't in charge of the enquiry a few news rags and the likes will get some of the gravy spilling off the train..

Perhaps this has just been one of the factors of life, but there are a hell of a lot of"Murky,Corrupt practices"being carried out by a multitude of UK Police Forces, when it seems as though they were quite willing to assist the "Main Perpetrators"not to be caught red handed?
Apparently certain London Football Coaches have links to"Shirley Oaks"abuse cases and a number of deaths dating back to the 1970's?
