I do not think there is any personal or professional relationship between Felgeuiras and Clarke.

I do suspect that he keeps his Computer running day and night, set up with Alerts to any incoming News that he then translates, and has Printed in English as his own ‘Exclusive’ work.

Sandra seems to be his main ‘Source’ close to.

On FB  I am Petra.
My original account got blocked, wiped, taken down a very long time ago by the usual suspects
and I saw no need to share my details with the world, much to Clarke's annoyance.
He even complains about it in his book.
"There is almost nothing about him online and the only story outside of [sic] his links to the Maddie case (and there are quite a few) is of him teaching a group of children to row an ancient Greek ship called a trireme, off the island of Poros, in Greece, in 1987.

Clarke, Jon. MY SEARCH FOR MADELEINE: One Reporter’s 14-Year Hunt To Solve Europe’s Most Harrowing Crime (p. 118). OP Books. Kindle Edition. "

Apart from the unfortunate FACT that I was not "teaching a group of children . . ." I was coaching highly experienced oars-people – men and women – as we all tried to learn the techniques which might have been employed to coordinate 170 oars in three banks in an ancient Greek warship . . .as well as acting as Barrack Master . . . the place and date are correct.
Which I suppose is a small mercy.

And yes, it is the same Jon Clarke who complained bitterly that I had revealed details of his home address and of his wife and children's details, but who puts all that information on the internet and in his own newspaper himself, and in the million copies of his best selling book.

***
Incidentally, for students of these things, the big 'Kidman/ Murat money' rental house attached to his own residence is now shown as "Permanently Closed".
No idea why. It may be a mistake but could be a costly one as high season approaches.

The other properties in his portfolio seem to be operating normally.  Unless that too is a mistake and the empire has collapsed.

MCCANNS CONDEMNED BY SEEING A PRIEST

By Wendy Williams - 23rd May [that month again] 2011

Kate McCann's request to see a priest on the night of her daughter Madeleine's disappearance, was used against her it has been revealed.

The devout Roman Catholic claims she came under suspicion because of the belief that people in Portugal 'only called a priest when they wanted their sins to be forgiven.

The flimsy dossier against the McCann's also included included sniffer dog evidence indicating the presence of blood and human remains in the apartment, later dismissed following forensic tests.

The revelation comes as British Prime Minister David Cameron ordered the reopening of files relating to the McCann case following a direct appeal from her parents.

The Met Police have been ordered to conduct a full review of all evidence in a bid to shed new light on the case.

Meanwhile, an image of the girl's abductor could finally be revealed thanks to high-tech profiling computers.

A Met Police case review team will run descriptions of potential suspects through facial identification software in a bid to produce the most accurate new e-fit.

The net's closing in Sunday Mirror

Search for missing Maddy

• Police in hunt for a man acting strangely at complex
• Dad: I'm sure she'll be at 4th birthday next week

Lori Campbell Kate Mansey and Jon Clarke in the Algarve Portugal

6 May 2007

Detectives were last night closing in on a man they suspect of snatching little Maddy McCann from her holiday apartment.

They said they believed she was being held within three miles of the complex where she had been staying at Praia da Luz on Portugal's Algarve.

Guilhermino Encarnacao, chief of police in the region, said he had an artist's impression of the abductor but he feared that releasing it may put the three-year-old's life in danger.

He said he believed that Maddy had been taken by a sex offender, but there was also a possibility she had been kidnapped for a ransom - Maddy's parents are both doctors, her father a highly-paid heart specialist.

Mr Encarnacao said: "We have a prime suspect. A man has been seen acting strangely and we have a sketch, but we are not releasing it yet. We do not want to put the girl at risk.

"We believe the girl is still in Portugal, and probably nearby. I cannot rule out it was a paedophile who took her."

Police raised the hope that Maddy could be found as her anguished parents spent a second night waiting for news of their daughter.

Gerry and Kate McCann, both 38, of Rothley, Leics, are staying two doors down from the apartment that Maddy was taken from between 9pm and 10pm on Thursday.

Yesterday Gerry went into the apartment and emerged carrying a suitcase and a bucket and spade for younger twins Amelie and Sean, two.

The couple were later seen walking between apartment blocks in the resort with the twins, accompanied by friends.

They are being comforted by family and specially-trained officers from Leicestershire who have flown to Portugal.

One senior Portuguese detective told the Sunday Mirror yesterday: "We know of two or three local paedophiles living between Lagos and Praia da Luz. We have their names and addresses. We also have a list of English and German sex offenders living in the area from Interpol. We are following up every lead."

Yesterday Maddy's heartbroken grandmother told how the family were clinging to the hope she will be able to attend her fourth birthday party on Saturday.

Susan Healy told the Sunday Mirror: "We were looking forward to seeing her next weekend and giving her her presents, but this is just so awful.

"Her father is adamant that she will be found."

Relatives have made her a special Dr Who cake in honour of her favourite programme. Maddy had been asleep on a bed next to her brother Sean when she was snatched.

Her parents had been eating dinner at a restaurant in the Ocean Club resort 100 yards from the apartment.

They had been taking turns to check on the children every half hour as they slept. But a frantic search was launched when Kate went back to the apartment at 9.45pm and found Maddy gone.

More than 100 locals and holiday makers took part in the hunt.

Hotel workers from the Mark Warner Holiday complex held hands in a line and combed the beach while others scoured the resort and nearby roads.

A police source said they had been studying CCTV footage in petrol stations and on motorways near the resort.

There were also reports from expats that a young girl was seen walking down a road with a couple.

Last night 150 extra officers were drafted in to help with the search, as well as people from the Red Cross, Maritime Police and firemen.

It is thought someone had been spying on the apartment and broken in by forcing the shutters on the patio doors and entering the apartment when he knew the adults had gone.

The ground-floor apartment was on the edge of a public road so Maddy's abductor would have been able to make a quick getaway.

Yesterday family and friends flew in to the popular holiday resort from Liverpool, Glasgow and Canada to comfort Maddy's parents.

Looking tired and distraught, her mum Kate clasped her husband's hand as they walked out of the apartment with their twins between them to collect their belongings.

Last night the little girl's great uncle, Brian Kennedy, said: "We fear the worst, but we are hoping for the best."

Mr Kennedy insisted that the couple had acted responsibly when they left the children in the room while they had dinner at the restaurant. He said: "The children were left only in the sense that when you put your children to bed, you don't stay in the room all night.

"Madeleine is a lovely little girl, an intelligent, bright child. As parents, they are absolutely devoted to their children. You won't find more caring parents anywhere."

The seven other adults, who had been on holiday with the McCann family, left yesterday as planned, leaving the parents free to spend time with worried relatives.

Meanwhile, questions were being raised on how secure the apartments were. There was also criticism of how quickly the police reacted to Maddy's disappearance.

Paula Jones, 34, who manages the apartments where the McCann family were staying said the properties were a hot spot for burglaries. She said: "We have a real problem with break-ins at the apartments because lots of holiday makers don't double lock the patio doors.

"Burglars wait and watch the apartments so they know who is coming and going and they strike when tourists are out at the beach or in the restaurants."

Jon Clarke and Lori Campbell "closing in" on the offender within two days . . .

Err,  what happened after that, Jon ?

CLUE ; He was paid over £600,000 in libel damages, but Campbell and Clarke took their fat fees and in Clarke's case he seems to have used them to renovate his luxury Holiday rental.
And all because he was blind in one eye !

In my consideration, Jon Clarke is an egotist and inveterate purveyor of renowned porky pies - and a poser.

Look at any photograph of him, past and present, there is an air of self assurance and a look of smug conceit. I think he hides behind a shield of poetic licence as most writers do to sell their product.

It may of course be bravado but he doesn't appear to care much about leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, he doesn't seem to care about who he offends nor why and how.

I found this quite interesting, the origin of The Olive Press..

The land of shattered dreams!

By Tara Rippin • 06 August 2019

“I have lost money twice in Spain, the first time hurt after being robbed and the second time was drawn out. But I don’t have any regrets.” These are the words of Jason Heppenstall who launched the Olive Press completely by chance in May, 2006.

He was following a dream which ultimately cost him everything within two short years. But rather than let it destroy him, he turned it to his advantage and hasn’t looked back.

Jason explained how his kaleidoscope adventure, which led him to the dream life in Cornwall, began.

“I met my wife Michelle 24 years ago. She is Danish and we were living in her homeland where I started reading Driving Over Lemons by Chris Stewart. I was attracted to the romance of Spain in 2003/04, so we decided to do it, move to Spain, to Orgiva in the Alpuharra region of Andalucia.

“A lot of people move to Spain but do not know what to do. That’s what I was like, I had no experience in journalism but I dreamed up and launched Olive Press at the kitchen table. I taught myself graphic design and got on with it.

“It was definitely a challenge. Two years later my shareholding was bought out by the current owner Jon Clarke.”

Read Jason’s new book, Olive Press, News From the Land of the Misfits, to find out how this chapter of his life evolved – including the torrid tales of him being a ‘wannabe’ investigative reporter, well actually the driver of the getaway car!

Jason added: “I believed at the time the sale signified the end of my dreams, little did I know it was actually the beginning of a great new chapter in my life.

“The sale went through quite painlessly, as did the move back to Denmark where I became an editor, save for the heartbreak I felt at the time.”

But it was not just the sale of his dream that was upsetting for Jason, it was the also the enforced loss of the family cat James – a beautiful feline friend who couldn’t be sold or given away to the new owner.

Readers will understand when they read the following extract from the book:

“I explained my predicament with the kittens, saying how nobody wanted them with their eyes glued shut.

“Why don’t you just do what the Spanish do?” he (Jon) asked.

“What’s that?” I said, tensing that I probably didn’t want to know.

“Throw them against a wall. Bam! Far less cruel than drowning them in a sink, or so our gardener says.”

Hence why James remained in the empty family house until he moved back to England after the sale of Jason’s property five years later. The much-loved cat’s back was definitely never going to be up against the wall!

Jason went on: “I don’t have any regrets. Although for me, the Olive Press was a personal failure, it worked out well for me and led me onto a new career in writing. It also gave me a great story. “

You can find Olive Press, News From the Land of the Misfits on Amazon.co.uk in paperback or the kindle edition.

I believe JC, for it is he, has a strong personal opinion about the credibility of euroweekly but that's another matter.

Has JC ever committed a crime, aside from breaking every law of professional ethics? Can he always hide behind the journalist hat?

The jury is out on that ....

JC appears to have his little empire well and truly fortified against unwanted infidels.

I've been having a poke about - almost everything leads back to The Olive Press, which in itself leads back to subscriber only access.

He's already had his pound of flesh from me through the purchase of his dastardly adventure novel My Search for Madeleine', he certainly ain't getting any more!

From report titles alone, he appears to like his name to be up-front, despite being a laid-back journalist, read hack [sic], and a modest hard worker who prefers to stay away from the camera and stay behind the scenes.

I recall his saying he was/is a stringer for a few British press outlets. If the news he reports over in Spain is attained through a Spanish press agency, it's hardly surprising he would be first to report - over and above the British tabloids. No doubt he feeds the information to his British friends and colleagues if they haven't already got the reports from a press agency. That's how the system works generally, a report is circulated by press agencies to international press and media organs

I'm not particularly interested in The Olive Press stories as such, more how it's managed - what goes on behind the scenes so to speak.

Did he see Spain as an opportunity to spread his wings, or was it the temptation of sun sea and sangria - and obscurity!

I'm still looking ....

It is interesting.
He has tried to block the Olive Press from being copied and pasted.
But there is a way round that, as we have demonstrated.

He has put the on-line edition behind a paywall,
But there are several ways round that, as we have demonstrated here – for anyone who can be bothered

He seems to have disabled the once extensive search engine within the OP site
But there are ways round that, as we have demonstrated here

Meanwhile hard copy editions pile up next to the check out at little supermarkets who allow that sort of thing,
to be used for protecting wine and frozen squid for the journey home.
For which many thanks, obviously.
Each one counts in the circulation figures supplied to the advertisers, but as we have also demonstrated here
the OP has chosen not to be part of the officially recognised circulation statistics office.

Any more than JC can hide from the disgruntled victims of his past actions, reports widely available across the many available information platforms.

He can pretend the past didn't happen but that act alone doesn't make it go away.

You upset people, they take offence and can get very vindictive given sufficient incentive. Matters escalate when redress seems unattainable for the victim.

You reap what you sow - eventually.

Plumbing new depths
If you didn't think it were possible for the Olive Press to sink any lower two articles from yesterday should dispel any doubt.
Let us remember that Jon Clarke indulged in a long email exchange with me, falsely and maliciously accusing me of having revealed details of his house and his family, when he himself had put everything in the public domain in his paper and his book.   I detailed this in Chapter 50, ‘Quiet February”.
https://whatreallyhappenedtomadeleinemccann.blogspot.com/2016/08/chapter-50-february-2022-quiet-month.html

But now he has published details of someone else's private holiday, with no justification, no story, no public interest, and one assumes no permission from the people involved.
The pieces are replete with Clarke’s usual Tabloid typographical errors and dreadful grammar and syntax.
Does the Olive Press computer have no spell-check facility ?

https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2022/07/13/jason-momoa-and-jared-leto-spotted-on-holiday-in-spains-mallorca

ACTORS Jason Momoa and Jared Leto have been spotted on a holiday retreat in Mallorca.
Game of Thrones star Momoa is known to be an avid amateur climber and frequently takes advantage of Mallorca’s world-renowned climbing terrain.
He joined up with Chris Sharma, a pro climber who speciliases [sic] in a type of free-soloing done on rock faces above bodies of water.
Last month Momoa and Sharma were filming in Mallorca near the Puerto Soller for a series that sees amatuer [sic] climbers take on some of the most challenging routes along the Tramuntana coast.
The trio shared a snap on instagram enjoying themselves in the Baeleric [sic] sunshine.

https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2022/07/13/watch-tenerife-motorist-spotted-driving-with-child-in-the-boot

A YOUNG child was filmed laying [sic] in the boot of a car driving down a Tenerife motorway on Tuesday, July 11.
The person who filmed the incident from a tailing car can be heard in the background shouting: “You are freaking them out, you are crazy!”
Driving a child [sic] in a car without a seatbelt is illegal in Spain, let alone forcing a child to sit in the boot, which is extremely dangerous.
Users on social media were also quick to point out how hot it would have been stuck in the back without proper ventilation during record temperatures.

****
And now the FACTS !
The story is lifted from Twitter    Ref: https://twitter.com/SocialDrive_es/status/1546888932180332551    The short video shows clearly that the child is NOT  ‘in the boot’.   It is in the luggage space behind the rear seats of a Citroen C3, which is a 5 door hatchback, and the rear windows are open about 10 cm, to allow air to circulate through the entire vehicle.
But let us not let facts get in the way !

I take things more seriously than you Verdi, and I know you have a wry sense of humour, but this chap has told lies about the demise of a three year old child.

Not only that but he has tried to damage the reputation of a senior police officer who questioned his truthfulness.

What, no takers? So the forum stooge again takes all the kicks and none of the glory.

I trust this unsubtle reprimand extends to all guilty parties, those who have openly mocked Jon Clarke and the Olive Press here on CMOMM, and not only the member you have singled out.

Or perhaps you haven't been paying attention.

"My Search For Madeleine" by Jon Clarke, first journo on the scene of Madeleine McCann disappearance

 Oct 16, 2021

02:18 minutes

Jon Clarke was the first journalist on the scene when Madeleine McCann went missing in 2007… and 14 years later he’s still searching for the truth.

https://www.amazon.es/MY-SEARCH-MADEL...

This book charts his often-frightening journey from the Ocean Club holiday resort in Praia da Luz through many isolated parts of Portugal and Spain and finally into Germany. He meets numerous dark and unusual characters, some who live under the radar, and others who he believes hold the key to what happened to Maddie all those years ago.

He points his finger firmly at the new prime suspect Christian Brueckner and explains, in detail and with the help of the people who knew Brueckner best, why he thinks he did it. He traces his grim upbringing, his ease of movement around Europe and also questions the integrity of the Portuguese police and asks if someone, somewhere is covering something up.

With unrivalled access to official documents, exclusive interviews and confessions, no stone is left unturned as Jon searches for the truth, often putting himself in considerable danger in the process.

This book is a must read for anyone interested in the case, or just someone planning a family holiday in Europe this year.

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY SO FAR...
“Tirelessly researched. Told me a lot of things I didn’t know about the case”

MARTIN BRUNT, SKY NEWS CRIME CORRESPONDENT
“Jon is clearly about as steeped in the story as it’s possible to be, and it’s a fascinating account of the inner workings of what sounds like an extremely seedy place.”

SUSIE DOWDALL, DAILY MAIL
“Jon Clarke is a remarkably experienced journalist who has dug deeply into the movements and life of German new-age traveler and fixated preferential sex offender Christian Brueckner, who should have been a prime suspect in 2007.

“This book breaks a lot of new ground on the case and is a real investigative trawl and deep dive into the world of organized child traffickers… and he has interviews with all the key players from all over Europe.

“It is an investigative man-hunt and Jon’s book is compelling. He has a long heritage in the story and his crusade is journalistically sound and his journalistic instincts are sharp.”

DONAL MACINTYRE, TV PRODUCER AND INVESTIGATOR

There have been some interesting comments posted on Reddit today due to HLN (American TV Channel) showing a 2 part series last night.
