Martin Grime: Find the Blue Bag

Re: Martin Grime: Find the Blue Bag
I apologise if this has already been answered elsewhere, I did try to have a look. Is it true as reported that the McCanns were the ones to request the sniffer dogs? I can't understand why they would do this, unless they were so supremely confident of being protected that it didn't matter what the dogs came up with, they just wanted to keep the story in the media? I found this Guardian article claiming it

The couple, worried that inquiries by the Policia Judiciaria were losing momentum, asked detectives last month to re-examine the apartment where their daughter went missing and also for the use of sniffer dogs to seek fresh clues.
There are sniffer dogs and there are sniffer dogs.
I bet they didn't ask for blood and cadaver dogs.

Portuguese detectives appear to be moving back to the notion that Madeleine was abducted by a stranger from her bedroom.
From the same stupid article.
Says who?
They find blood and death scent.. but hey... let's forget that and investigate it as if it's an abduction.
There are a few quotes from "a source".

The McCanns requested the original dogs, ones that would trace Madeleines' scent. These dogs were given a towel that the McCanns claim, was used by Madeleine. IIRC, the scent took the dogs past the Baptista Supermarket, the scent was then lost at the car park. The McCanns and the media then reported a number of stories based on this information.
I find it a bit odd though, that they were able to immediately present the dogs with a towel that had Madeleines' scent on it but had to come home to the UK to collect a sample of Madeleines' DNA which was not present anywhere in the apartment.

Thank you for your reply, I thought their 'request' sounded like a bit of a McStory. Sometimes the truth is really embedded quite far in amongst the trash!sharonl wrote:nglfi wrote:I apologise if this has already been answered elsewhere, I did try to have a look.
