SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR Empty SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR

SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR Malink10

Sergey Malinka's car was torched on March 20 2008 in Praia da Luz.

The word 'FALA' has been sprayed on the pavement. It means 'speak'.

Why is there such a large area of red paint above the word 'fala'?

Is it possible that the word 'NAO' was written partly on the car and partly on the pavement? It must have been sprayed before it was torched, too dangerous the other way around...

My experience with spray paint is that you always try the spraycan before you start writing something.
And that's why there is more paint above the first letter "F" and you can clearly see a big red dot.
That's what I think.

Yes that's a possibility. But I don't understand why some-one would torch 'speak' and then torch the car.. it doesn't seem logical to me...

Oh for goodness' sake, if someone wanted to spray paint Nao Fala they'd have done it in full on the pavement.

I'm weary of pointless minutiae.

Good question, though wasn`t the car torched before MBM went missing.

Even if you allow for the first bit of spray, there seems to be far too much paint above the word Fala for it to be trying the spray out.  Heat from the burning car may have smudged anything that may have been there.

Just noticed there is writing on the back door of the car which has become distorted with the heat . Can`t make out what it might have said.

It was allegedly torched twice before , (predating the disappearance of Madeleine). There is an interesting thread on the forum, called 'Whatever happened to Sergey Malinka?'

SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR Empty Re: SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR

Sergey Malinka took pictures of Madeleine McCann on the beach?

Why was Sergey Malinka's car destroyed ?

The Algarve Resident of Portugal reported on March 26, 2008 that a car belonging to Praia da Luz resident Sergey Malinka was destroyed by burning on the night of March 20, 2008. On the sidewalk next to where the car was parked the word "fala" ["talk" in Portuguese] was written in large letters.

Who is Sergey Malinka?

Sergey Malinka is a Moldavian-Russian man who has been living in Praia da Luz for about seven [or more] years. He is considered to be an expert in computer-related stuff and as a result is well known and enjoys a high social profile. He also operates a computer store in Praia da Luz. On May 16, 2007 he was interviewed by the Portuguese police in connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann on the night of May 3, 2007 from a room in an apartment at the Mark Warner Ocean Club in Praia de Luz. When the police arrived at his apartment to question him, he had already wiped clean the hard drive of his personal computer which contained hundreds of files known only to him. He denied any involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and the police could not arrest nor charge him with anything for a lack of evidence. How did Malinka found out the police were going to his place to question him in connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann? If he didn't have anything to hide why did he wipe clean the files on his computer? As a matter of record for anyone to verify, Sergey Malinka telephoned former suspect in the case Robert Murat on or about 10:30 pm on May 3, 2007 - just some 30 minutes after Madeleine McCann went missing. Phone records show that both men were in continuous contact during the crucial hours after her disappearance. In addition, Robert Murat's mother Jennifer who operates a bed-and-breakfast business in Praia da Luz confirmed that both men had met and talked lengthily before and after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Also, in its edition dated August 7, 2007 the digital magazine Variedad published a report featuring information on Sergey Malinka and his relationship with Robert Murat. According to the report, Sergey Malinka has a criminal background related to paedophilia, and his relationship with Robert Murat is based on common business interests connected to child trafficking, on behalf of international organisations with presence in Portugal and involved in this highly lucrative criminal enterprise. Malinka mysteriously disappeared from Praia da Luz shortly after Madeleine McCann was snatched from the bed she was sleeping on. The report by Variedad also included information on a large number of child-porn videos and pictures that were found at Robert Murat's house during a search after the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann had occurred on the night of May 3, 2007.

Sergey Malinka was [or still is] employed as a trip organizer by the Corlett Lines Company who owns the yacht "Naomi Corlett" which was believed to be the vessel that left Portimao in the early afternoon hours of May 3, 2007 and headed towards the Marina in Lagos to be positioned near Praia da Luz. As a matter of record for anyone to verify, Malinka was [or still is] an organizer of expeditions to remote islands off the coast of Africa on behalf of the Corlett Lines Company, and was also involved in offering boat trips in the Mediterranean and to the North of Africa. These business activities show that he had access to sea vessels before May 3, 2007. Also, telephone communication records available confirm that Malinka called his wife that was on board the yacht after its arrival at the Marina in the early afternoon hours of May 3, 2007. All of these and other facts suggest that Sergey Malinka was either directly involved in or has vital information on the kidnapping and disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Sergey Malinka is also a man with different alias. According to reports published on the sergeant's inn website, Malinka is known also as "Nick Legaloff," "Nikolai Fedorenko," "Ivan Nikolayevich Petrov," and possibly other false names. Why so many fake names? What is he really up that requires him to use so many fake names? These and many more questions remained unanswered on an individual whose shadowy activities make him a subject of interest in connection with different events, including what links to the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann. But above all, the biggest unanswered question is: Why was his car destroyed, and the Portuguese word "fala" ["talk] written in large letters next to it?  Who wants him to "talk" about what? Whoever burned Malinka's car must have valid reasons to demand of him to "talk" in such a violent way. What does Malinka know that you and I don't regarding the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann?  May we suggest that investigators currently working on the case give consideration to this information?

Does anyone know the date of Malinka's car getting torched ?

As far as 'Fala' goes, a negative is not always necessary.

It could mean 'speak out', or it could well mean the opposite, 'don't you dare talk' as in,  'talk....and you're dead'.

If it were 'speak out' then that would be a plea, help us.

But if the 'fala' is accompanied by a torching of something personal and close to home, then it's not exactly the act of someone asking for help in giving important information out.

Perhaps one of our Portuguese posters will know the subtlety of the word 'fala', standing on its own, I'm sure Gonçalo Amaral will know and I guess the guy by the car could get a decent look at the words written on the car.

I can go with that, as it is also a message to the police to push him for information.

If it was a threat not to speak, the last thing a perpetrator would do would be to leave a message for the police to follow up.

The police would investigate/grill him until they found out what it was he was not supposed to reveal.

It would be a call or a note pushed through his door.

SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR Empty Re: SERGEY MALINKA'S CAR

If as reported, Sergey Malinka was a high flying business man with dodgy connections and dodgy dealings, the torching of the car could have been done by anyone - not necessarily anything to do with Madeleine McCann's disappearance.  Given the timing of the incident I can't see any reason to suspect a direct connection.

I tentatively agree Verdi, however it does show PdL (you know, the reported idyllic enclave on the Algarve) to not be a place without its dark side - just like everywhere else really except in the case of the McCanns who apparently felt safe, so safe in fact they left their kids alone in a locked/unlocked apartment to 'go have a bite to eat for a couple of hours' and according to their statements nipped up the road every half an hour to check on them (see PeterMac's Benny Hill take on the checking process).

Things still come back to common sense and gut instinct for me. Why on earth would you feel safe to leave your kids alone in a holiday rental flat with access to the road? Why on earth would you leave your kids in a locked/unlocked apartment? It doesn't make sense to me and I'm not playing the blame game for parents getting things wrong occasionally. I can only wonder that this is the greatest PR exercise of all time, a PR exercise that was undertaken by UK authorities. I don't think the Portuguese have clean hands either.

Do I believe this is a cover up? You're damned right I do.

I doubt if there are many places left on earth that don't have a dark side and Portugal is no exception.  Beats me how anyone can so readily dismiss what is known about the Algarve, whether or not it has any connection with Madeleine's disappearance.

You have to live somewhere for quite a while to see beyond the gilding (years rather than weeks/months), as well you know - as a foreigner if you want to be part of the local community, you have to wait for local acceptance before losing the tourist stigma.   Some countries I don't believe ever truly accept a foreigner as one of their own, especially where there are extreme cultural differences.  Partly the reason ex-pats form their own little communities - the other reason because they don't want to integrate anyway.

It's the 'it felt so safe' mantra spread abroad by the McCanns that convinces me their children were never left alone at night whilst they went down the Tapas restaurant.  As you suggest, it's all part of the massive PR campaign manufactured to ensure total immunity from prosecution.

Cover up most assuredly.
