No it doesn't stop the chosen abduction narrative cold, the abduction theory is still alive and kicking to this very day.  It was/is the remit of the Metropolitan Police special unit, Operation Grange.

Yes and the German endeavours to wipe-out paedophilia and safe-guard children is commendable but your reference  has no apparent connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

That aside, as you no doubt realised, I was referring to Herr Wolter's rationale for direct involvement with the case of missing Madeleine McCann, not his general standing in the world of crime.

There appears to be something lost in translation here, 

If regrettably a body was found today and then positively and independently identified, how could Op Grange still say it’s a missing person enquiry. Maddie was reported missing but is now found. End of story. Or?

The only apparent connection with the disappearance is a telephone call, the Germans are apparently sincere in their endeavours to either prove or disprove CBs relevance to this and other running investigations.

I suspect Herr Wolters is doing what Dr. Amaral did, his job - without fear or favour. He is certainly not being hampered by his Political peers at the moment. I personally doubt he has any ulterior motives. You must ask him personally as I cannot speak for him or the BKA. SORRY...

Germany knew that Christian Bruckner had been a pedophile since 1994, found him twice in Portugal and never associated him with the disappearance of Madeleine Mccann. Nor do the Portuguese authorities, although they have extradited him twice for sexual crimes against children. The first in 1999, the second in 2017.
For 22 years, this man lived among us and traveled without any motorhome control in Europe, benefiting from the free movement guaranteed since the Schengen agreement.
Burckner was last extradited in 2017, after being caught in the act of committing a crime that today qualifies as sexual abuse against four Portuguese children, all of them girls under the age of 14.
Despite the flagrant crime in a playground in São Bartolomeu de Messines, this crime by Brukner against Portuguese children was never prosecuted and remains unpunished.

I can remember my own mobile number, as i have kept the same number for a few years mainly for business reasons, but i wouldn't have a clue what anyone else's number would be. Not even members of my own family. The chances of someone remembering somebody else's mobile number from 13 years ago is about as likely as someone remembering what pyjamas their child was wearing on a particular night, on holiday over six years ago, and still having them even though they would have obviously outgrown them ages ago. It's just absurd.
