Gerry, as a doctor how excited are you that the Curie Institute in Paris has recently announced the results of a trial which showed that trained sniffer dogs have proved 100% accurate in sniffing out breast cancer after just 6 months of training? The dogs correctly identified the scent of breast cancer, undetectable by humans, from cloths which had been contact with the breasts of test subjects containing tumours. Will you be penning a piece for The Lancet about how incredibly unreliable sniffer dogs are?
