Arguably, the truth of a situation, and an 'account of the truth' re same situation can be worlds apart!

Kate McCann's 'account of the truth' is simply her version of events - a version so easily proven to be in parts, not to be true at all.

But I guess when you have the backing and the means to produce and promote such a work - some of it, perhaps all of it will be believed by some of the people, maybe by many of the people.

And when you are further able to ensure that the opposing views/truths are not heard - the author silenced, well one might say, job done!

As for her story being for her twin children?

Not so sure that it is. More inclined to believe it was for her and Gerry to absolve themselves.

They know when their twins are old enough (which probably is right now) that they can and will, access any amount of material on the sister they never knew, and will be able (with or without their mother's story book) decide what they consider to be truthful or not.

Thirteen years of material out there.

For these two young teenagers - one cannot feel anything less than compassion for their road ahead. Thus far they will have been protected somewhat. In the coming years, it will be up to them whether they decide to explore what is out there.

That won't be easy for them I'm sure.

The 43-year-old, who is currently in prison for a drugs offence, faced a further nine years in prison after he was convicted in December of raping a 72-year-old American woman in Praia de Luiz in 2005 - two years before Madeleine went missing in the same Portuguese village.
But his legal team last month argued that the conviction should be quashed because he was extradited from Italy on a drugs charges - not for rape.
According to EU law, people extradited by a member state through an arrest warrant may not be prosecuted for a previous crime “other than that which is the basis of the surrender”.

Today an advocate general at the European Court advised that the appeal did not appear valid because Bruckner left Germany voluntarily after his first extradition from Portugal, so Portuguese authorities have no role to play.
The decision, known as an “Opinion” in the Court, is not legally binding and is the penultimate step to a final judgment, which will be delivered by three more judges later this month.
If Bruckner’s rape conviction is ruled unlawful, he could be released in January 2021 when his drugs sentence expires.

With global mainstream media consistently repeating lurid allegations about Maddie ‘suspect’ Christian Brückner, his German lawyer has defied police to actually come up with the concrete evidence they say they have against his client.

Talking exclusively to Australia’s 9News, Freidrich Fulscher made the point that “the prosecutor’s office has to prove that a suspect has committed a crime”.

The onus is not on the suspect to “prove that he hasn’t”.

Last week’s extraordinary development in Hanover – where prosecutors descended on an allotment previously frequented by Brückner flanked by earth moving equipment, sniffer dogs and police agents with spades and ground-penetrating radar – was “an act of pure desperation”, intended to “influence” public opinion and “court decisions” that are coming down the line, said Fulscher.

Certainly no information has transpired of any kind incriminating evidence pertaining to the Madeleine case having been found.

The digging stopped almost as abruptly as it started, and stories then moved on to the possibility that there could be a body hidden under a house on a second allotment close by.

The ‘small garden house’ was the home of Christian Brückner between 2013-2016, said reports.

The current tenant was “so terrified” that the building could be hiding macabre secrets – more specifically the body of a missing girl known as the German Maddie – that she had taken to sleeping outside.

Says Fulscher, “the media has described my client as a monster”.

But as far as he, Fulscher, is concerned, Brückner “is very calm and friendly”.

Fulscher stressed it is his client’s fundamental right to remain silent, no matter what kind of media furore is generated.

Indeed, “you could order Holy Water as a long drink in Hell”, he said, before Brückner will agree to ‘cooperate’ with German prosecutors.

On a different tack, Christian Brückner is hoping to challenge the terms of his extradition to Germany from Italy for the rape in 2005 of an American tourist in Praia da Luz.

If successful, explains 9News, he could be out of jail in Kiel – where he is serving time for drug related offences – “within weeks”.

MADELEINE McCann investigator Mark Williams-Thomas says if British police were in control of the case from day one they would have linked a suspect “within days”.

Within 72 hours of the three-year-old's disappearance, investigative journalist and former detective in the Surrey Police Mark Williams-Thomas was in Praia da Luz.

The specialist in major crimes and child abuse has explained how British police would have handled the case if they were in charge from day one.

He told The Express: “It’s crucial to get house-to-house done really quickly, particularly in an area like that – if you’re doing house-to-house in central London you’re dealing with people who are living there, whereas in Praia da Luz you’re dealing with a transient community who are largely holidayers.

“The British police, we’ve had considerable experience dealing with critical time-sensitive cases, in particular, child abductions.

“We’ve learnt from major mistakes we’ve made in cases in the past.”

ex- Surrey PC. Mark Williams-Thomas.
Bringing the Force, and the Service, into Disrepute.
I am a retired Superintendent from Nottinghamshire, and retain an interest in the
reputation of the service, defending it whenever I may.
I am writing to draw your attention to the activities and pronouncements of an ex-Surrey
Police officer, Mark Williams-Thomas.
His name is currently cropping up in various places. He bills himself as an “expert in
Child abuse”, and refers back to his service in the Surrey Police, when it seems he was
a DC for a short time and a Family Liaison Officer, also for a short time. [3]
It is recorded that he was prosecuted for Blackmail, one assumes by Surrey Officers,
and although acquitted left the Force in 1990 under circumstances which he has never
explained. From what we can gather he completed only 11 or 12 years service.
Strangely he claims to have been re-employed by Surrey Police as a DC for one year in
2009, and also claims to have worked whilst in the police on child protection variously
for 12 years, and for 20 years. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
You may be aware that he is currently claiming that he single-handedly brought the
Savile case to the notice of the public. He has pontificated on several other cases and
has said that he is engaged in viewing Child Pornography on the internet “for research
purposes”. He has not made it clear that he is among the persons authorised to do so.

But one of his more damaging claims is that whilst he was in Surrey Police he ‘led’ a
number of murder, and national paedophile investigations. [3] [6]
And it is those remarks which cause me concern.
I am sure that Surrey, like all other forces, operates along ACPO guidelines for the
investigation of serious crime, allocating even “simple” murders to DI or DCI, overseen
by Det Supt, and that a National Paedophile enquiry would be co-ordinated by the
DChSupt, reporting to the ACC Crime and would be on a joint Inter-force Liaison group
specially set up for the purpose.
For Mark Williams-Thomas to represent that he personally ”led” such enquires must
cause the general public of your Force area to doubt whether you have been giving a
proper professional service, and I am confident you would agree that this is potentially
damaging for the image of Surrey Police and of the Service as a whole.
Whilst anyone is entitled to carve out a professional life after retirement or resignation,
and fantasists may not commit offences by their statements - unless thereby they obtain
pecuniary advantage - his activities seem to be beyond acceptable, and it may be that
you might consider issuing some form of explanatory statement, perhaps in the form of
a Press release, to be used at the appropriate moments, in which the true facts about
his service and real experience are set out. [7]
I do of course appreciate that he is now beyond your “professional standards” or
disciplinary grasp, but I would appreciate it if you could let me know privately if you do
propose to issue any statement of correction. It cannot be in the public interest,
especially in the currently extremely sensitive areas of child sexual abuse and
paedophilia, for a person to make bogus claims about his expertise, based on a series
of false statements about his service as a Surrey Police Officer.
I do not wish to attack him personally by revealing what I have put together, but I would
not like to see, for example, the Home Secretary led into a trap and into giving him
respect which was not due, only to find herself ridiculed later for party political purposes.
I served a previous Home Secretary for many years, advising him on local issues and
remain an acquaintance of his.

It’s more recent than ‘madeleine’ (2011) which the Sun seems to be writing about most days at the moment!

‘Contact always leaves a trace’, so if there was no abduction, no contact, no trace, seems likely she’s on to a loser here.

Didn’t manage to find any trace for the rest of the Stephen Lawrence gang either, but that may not have been down to her, but ‘political interference’ killing the investigation.

(In theory I believe the Stephen Lawrence IOPC investigation is still ongoing, pending the conclusion of the second investigation, but again that’s remarkably quiet. Is there a similar pattern here? Just keep an investigation allegedly ticking over, although nothing is actually being done?

Her passion and attention to detail has seen her work on and solve murders including Stephen Lawrence, Rachel Nickell and the Coastal Path murders in Pembrokeshire in the 1980s.
And it is her involvement in these cold cases - some solved even after two decades - that has given her an optimistic outlook that virtually any case can be solved.
Speaking to the Sun Online, Prof Gallop CBE explained: “There have been so many cases where it has looked so hopeless at the start, but where we have been able to dig out something which has led to a resolution.”
And while it has been more than 20 years since Madeleine disappeared on that fateful night in Portugal, Prof Gallop is still optimistic that the answers will be found.
She said: “I’ve always been interested in this case – after all this time it would be extremely tough.
“But one thing I’ve found with some of these really difficult crimes is that you never say never about anything.
“I’m an optimist by nature and an optimist now because of my teams’ success in helping to solve so many of these complex cold cases.
"(The concept) that every contact leaves a trace I now know to be absolutely true. The difficulty is usually in finding the traces in the first place."

They know what happened, they were there - why else would they plot and stage such an elaborate plan to simulate abduction?

The paedophile angle was their creation and here we are, thirteen years later, still following the same fictitious trail.

The German prosecutor, who seems to have earned the title of chief inspector of this case for no apparent reason, said in the Australian programme that they had enough evidence to say that Christian Brueckner killed Madeleine McCann.

So what is he waiting for?

How long has it been going on now - two months?

Weeks of the same nonsense trotted out daily but no step further forward.

They in Germany who were so insistent have now gone into silent mode about their 'investigation' - not prepared to comment on their on-scene diligence despite their prior claims of evidence.

Where have we heard that before - Operation Grange?

This can't lead to a scapegoat, for that you need evidence for a prosecution. Clearly the German authorities, in whatever guise, don't have any evidence that the German prisoner was involved in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, in any way shape or form.

It's a bit of a mystery why this kicked-off in the first place but the net result appears to be the same. Another random criminal or suspected criminal to maintain the impetus - the allegation of paedophile abduction, initiated by the McCanns on the night of 3rd/4th May 2007.

Child abuse is a distinct possibility but not at the hands of a chance stranger.

The reason some people think this "lead" has any credibility is because it now involves 3 police forces, each from different countries.

Well, the initial investigation also involved the Polish police, for example, but that was merely to probe certain suspects who were in Portugal at the time that the disappearance took place.

The same thing with this - Christian Brueckner is in Germany, yes, but the disappearance occurred in Portugal.

All the German investigators can do is assist with the investigation, which should be led by the Portuguese.

Instead, what we see is Mr. Wolters giving interviews as if, all of the sudden, he were the driving force in this case, and baseless media articles about the PJ doing searches to find Madeleine's remains.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

That period was a perfect opening for future sightings and persons of interest and it worked to perfection - even to this day as evidenced by the current German interest.

As I've said more than once in the past, how come the private detectives hired by the Find Madeleine Co Ltd in collaboration with Brian Kennedy, missed all these prime suspects/persons of interest?

Because any who did concentrate on the prime suspects and especially the one who discovered the background reason behind it all, were sacked or "allowed to resign".
