Martin Brunt saying trial running an hour late due to the fact that Mr Amarals lawyer is asking for no media to protect the memory of madeleine.

Sky showing pics of Kate McCann arriving with Dave Edgar tagging behind. Still saying the lady with her is her mother, don't think it is. Although her mother will be giving evidence later.

Imo it means that the media will have to wait for the verdict next week and they can't run a headline every day on 'what happened in court' or on the lines of: Kate McCann faints in the witness box, my twins are devastated - have been threathened by dangerous people so that's why I made sure everyone knew they were going to be at the finish line of the marathon, where nobody gave enough attention to me....... Gerry can't come because he's saving lives by giving CPR to Hacked Off which is likely to die and it's all the fault of GA .....

I'm sorry if you think it's twisted and crooked reasoning. I'll wait for the verdict.

Originally the writ was in the names of the McCanns and their THREE children, not, as now, just TWO.
So poor Madeleine is 'forgotten' AGAIN!

I think this is because they had Madeleine made a Ward of Court, and cannot now act in her name. Not so much as forgotten but excluded by their own actions.

I am puzzled by the press interest in this - the previous case in 2010(?) about Amaral's book ban, didn't warrant a word in the papers - although that went against the McCanns of course.

I wonder if the Press are now sick of the McCanns, which is why they are letting so many unfavourable comments through on websites, so that they will be able to let rip if the case goes in favour of Amaral? We will probably never know, we don't know which strings get pulled behind the scenes.

What can any of these witnesses say that will prove that the publication of the book made people stop looking for Maddie?

I can well believe that negotiations were under way to find an out of court settlement if this is the only "eivence" that can be produced, it all seems barmy to me. Surely the parents would be the best people to be in the witness box telling of the "damage" inflicted?

wonder why the child psychologist is there? If to say the twins were affected (and we don't know if this is the reason yet), I would have thought it not such a good idea to be thinking of letting the twins stay away from home on sleep overs.

We shall have to wait and see, but imo so much of what we have heard/read over the past 4 years does not seem to fit with the info. reported about the writ.

It seems to me that the press are being non-committal and simply drawing attention to the fact that the trial is taking place.

This has made it very difficult, if not impossible, to arrange an injunction preventing the media reporting details of the case that come out as a result of the trial and/or a verdict that is detrimental to the McCanns.

Their witnesses include a first-class lawyer, a media mouthpiece, and a private detective (all the hired help), so basically they're approach to this trial is exactly the same as their six year media campaign. The McCanns will still not be answering any questions and there is still no sign of the friends who were with them the night Madeleine disappeared - the Tapas 7.

Wasn't Susan Hubbard in Portugal in May with Kate? She does an awful lot of travelling.

Allegedly yes Susan Hubbard was in PDL with Kate in May but I wasn't convinced that they were. There were no believable "live" reports; the photos could have been from a previous visit.

It looks like it could have been taken in an aircraft, may be her flying out on her way to try and destroy GA. She looks very pensive, probably thinking "what the hell have I got myself into, all just for a million quid, perhaps I should have made it 2 million!"
