Mr
Never thought of that.
And we are not told how all these parents managed to escape.
All across the Algarve are smashed doors where they managed to break out,
or the mummified corpses of couples who didn't !

How come the British media didn't spread it all over the pages, British parents locked inside their bedroom whilst predatory paedophile molested their child?
They would have gotten thousands for their story initially when it happened. along with derogatory comments about the Portuguese police in the media as well as the country in general.

Back then as well as now, if a holiday maker stubbed a toe or a seagull crapped on their head, or the donkey refused to walk up the path ( forgetting the fact that said tourist is rocking in at 25 stone plus) or the sand wasn't the right color or the location was filled with foreigners and the food was all foreign or they got injured and the insurance refused to pay out or, more recently going abroad sans insurance, getting badly hurt or getting sick and then setting up a gofundme to pay hospital bills or transport home.
Every story would be accompanied by a sad face  holding up the bill or plaster cast etc, the so called "Daily Mail face" frequently accompanied by the value of the house.
In the 12 years that have passed, we have not heard of one abduction or abduction attempt of a child from his/her bed in PDL and we have only heard of alleged attempts  that happened earlier, attempts which would have been splattered across front pages.
We have had a multitude of alleged suspicious characters seen around the area, both male and female,
one image showing two drawings of the same character as described by different witnesses which have regularly be claimed as being the Podesta brothers in order to divert our attention in that it looks a lot like gerry.

Prosecution Exhibit 1: 'madeleine' - What's in the book? - Page 8 Gerry%2Bmccann%2BSmithman

Another image described as "George Harrison man" also bears an eerily strong resemblance to kate wearing a 70's style porn star moustache.
So much so that i remember seeing it in a forum, probably the 3amigos forum, and someone had made a gif showing  Harrison man morph into kate.

Prosecution Exhibit 1: 'madeleine' - What's in the book? - Page 8 DwMRkNXXQAAoz2j

Not forgetting the sketches of the man and woman seen by one alleged witness who looked eerily similar to the mccanns

Prosecution Exhibit 1: 'madeleine' - What's in the book? - Page 8 Efits

yet another e fit put out looked like gerry mccann and russell o'brian and then we had tanner opening her mouth and inserting both feet in the Panorama interview when  she was talking about how her alleged sighting of the alleged abductor carrying the bundle which had over time morphed into Maddie and saying "i carried her

We have witness descriptions that sound like kate and gerry and also artist impressions some of which look like kate and gerry.
We have the mccanns pretty much ignoring the statements from the Smiths in their mockumentary and the drawings/efits up until they had no choice, the Crime watch programme, a special on the mccanns, and what seemed wonderfully pointed barbs at the mccanns by having gerry sat under the image of an alleged suspect that looked the spitting image of him.
could it be that someone from the studio was making their view on the case known?

Was there an outbreak of locks on the outside of parents doors?
Parents waking up and seeing a lock suddenly appearing on the outside of their door but not on the children's rooms?
What happened when they left and a new family  came in and the parents decided to sleep in the other bedroom?
Did someone break in and swap the lock over?

If we were to believe all the stories the mccanns and chums as well as clarrie paid for and stated in the book and various interviews and statements, PDL would  have no tourists as the town would be filled with paedophiles and perverts. burglars and thieves, a virtual criminal paradise.
PDL is nothing like how the mccanns and chums have portrayed.
The alleged paedophile has never struck since the mccanns and chums scarpered back to the UK post haste, how strange since we know paedophiles never attack just the once unless they were caught  early and even then we do not know how many times he has committed prior to the arrest.
It is rare for a paedophile to be caught their first crime.
Given their claims that Maddie is still alive as there is no evidence to show otherwise (there is) in the 12 years plus since Maddie died (alleged abduction)why have they not taken part in a police reconstruction along with the tapas 7?
Why have they not repeatedly called out to the alleged abductor or those who may know who did it or where Maddie is?
Why did they not mention rewards when offered by the NOTW or any reward since?
Why has it always been all about them and how they feel?
Why did clarrie quit a politically linked permanent job to work for the mccanns as a PR spokesman?
Why did gerry's brother john take indefinite leave from his job at Astra Zeneca?
Why did they need prompting to call out to Maddie?
Why did kate positively bloom and glow in the days after the alleged abduction?
Why, despite being compelled to do so by law as arguidos, did they get their chums to set a whole plethora of demands and excuses such as to make any kind of reconstruction impossible?
Why did they say taking part in a reconstruction would not help find Maddie?
Why have they repeatedly told the world Maddie is alive and findable yet have also told us Maddie is dead?
Why have they repeatedly told the world Maddie is alive and findable yet never physically searched for Maddie as admitted by kate in a TV interview and also in various interviews and her book telling us they couldn't wait for it to get light to search when parental instinct alone would have had them running around searching and calling out to Maddie?

Perhaps Maddie is trapped in a parental bedroom which has locks on the outside and was forgotten about accidentally?
Those pub quizzes can be pretty hard on the brain especially with the distraction of having a pretty quiz mistress and rather a lot of alcohol imbibed as it was their holiday to.

Then there were the flights out for various family members who apparently lounged around the pool getting freebies and not forgetting the infamous birthday party for Maddie where alcohol was imbibed and everyone had a good time even to there being a birthday cake for the missing girl.
Nowhere have we been told that the families of kate and gerry ever assisted in the search for Maddie, although the mileage on the hire car was quite high given the car was primarily used for collecting and returning family members to the airport and that the hire car was supposedly used to transfer garbage to  appropriate bins and also to move their belongings to the new apartment after they had to vacate apt. 5a which resulted in the smell of rotting meat and fish being in the car requiring the trunk to be left open overnight for several nights and also the transference of DNA from Maddie to various items and locations via dirty diapers, sweaty sandals, occasional nosebleeds and from hastily grabbed belongings.

To cover up one lie leaving an unexplained gap in timelines or forensic evidence they have to tell another lie and so it goes on.
There will always be a gap exposed when a lie is revealed, or  an unexpected excuse or story breaking which is timed to be covered by a new breaking news story or to distract us and point to something minimal from something which paints the mccanns in a bad light or exposes a big lie or points to their involvement in the death, disposal and filing a false police report.
We also have the rabid mccann supporters defending the mccanns, coming up with excuses for their behavior and saying the words about Maddie that the mccanns cannot bring themselves to say, who also threaten to sue anybody who says anything against the mccanns.

Those very same supporters who on opening their mouths and typing  reveal a lot more about the case and the mccanns than they they should or think they do.
It could well be one of the tapas chums that breaks down and confesses their role in the case due to a guilty conscience or perhaps during a custody battle whilst getting divorced.
It could well be one of the twins spilling the beans to the police or media to get back at the parents for something they did to the twin(s) after Maddie disappeared or didn't do to/for the twins.
It could well be one or both of the twins going to the police to tell them what they heard and/or saw during that week's vacation up to the point Maddie vanished or what they heard and/or saw in the following hours/days/weeks/months and years.

A secret is only a secret if only one person knows.
The more people who know the secret, the greater the chance someone will talk especially if the secret concerns a serious crime such as homicide  or paedophilia.
The person may not have been involved in the actual crime(s) itself rather they may have been roped in unwillingly or coerced perhaps even blackmailed or threatened.
They are the ones who will break, the guilt eating away at them until they decide to talk and the guilt and stress is instantly released.
They are also the ones  who could use the knowledge as a weapon against their partner should they divorce and a custody battle ensues or a friendship ends either over time or in a big row and then they decide to talk, perhaps even with a book deal in mind. how they were threatened/blackmailed etc  and now they can reveal their story, you know how it goes.
Had only the mccanns been involved they could possibly get away with it, perhaps wondering what the twinssaw or heard that they could remember.
Once the tapas7 got involved,it is not if they will get caught and charged but when.
too many people know and what held them together as a group 12 years ago has long gone.
I would be surprised if the taps 7 keep in touch with the mccanns, to visit them or go away together.
I wonder if the tapas 7 stayed friends with each other, talking to each other regularly, visiting or going away together.
Where 2 or more get together Maddie will crop up, the elephant in the room has anyone thought of going to the police?
What about crime stoppers?
Maybe try and get a deal?
Throw the mccanns under the bus if it looks like the mccanns  will crack (read kate) and throw them under the bus?

Time will tell.

Choosing to share this personal account with the world has been much harder. Of course we want the truth to be told. For the past four years it has been excruciating to stand by as all kinds of tales have circulated about Madeleine’s disappearance and about Gerry, me and our family.

The press have published a mountain of stories, often without knowing, and perhaps caring, whether or not there was any substance to them, causing great distress to our family and, more importantly, hindering the search for Madeleine.

Others have seized the opportunity to profit from our agony by writing books about our daughter, several of them claiming to reveal ‘what really happened’. Which is extraordinary, given that the only person who knows this is the person who abducted her on 3 May 2007.

Many of these authors have no first-hand knowledge of the case and have based their theories on the half-truths, speculation and full-blown lies appearing in the media and on the internet.

Such as almost everything written in the Olive Press by Jon Clarke, and in the Sun by 'best friend' Tracey Kandohla ?
Or do you mean different half-truths, speculation, and full-blown lies ?

On Monday 27 August [2007] I had a call from Esther McVey, a Liverpool friend from my late teens, by then a television presenter and Conservative parliamentary candidate.

Esther was on the board of Madeleine’s Fund. She said she was scared by our current situation and uncomfortable with what she felt was a ‘political shift’. For our own safety, and ‘to protect Madeleine’s good name’ (I wasn’t quite sure what she meant by that), she thought we ought to come home. It seemed I was being pressurized from all quarters and I didn’t like it.

As it happened, however, the very same day we learned that we would need to vacate our villa by 11 September – news that put a different complexion on matters and forced Gerry and me to tackle this difficult and emotionally charged issue. We could have rented somewhere else in Praia da Luz, of course, but it would have been a lot of hassle for not much gain if we were intending to leave before long anyway. We had waited in vain for the police to call us back for interview. Finally, and very reluctantly, I agreed to set a date for our departure. Monday 10 September it would have to be. It was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to take.

How I marvel at the concept of hindsight.

Despite having declared the determination to remain in Portugal until Madeleine McCann was found, Ms Healy and her old man decided, late August 2007, that it was time to leave Portugal.

Then came the call to attend police HQ for further questioning when the 'arguido' status was declared. This situation occurred on 7th September 2007 - two days later, slightly ahead of schedule it would appear - the McCanns fled Portuguese soil and took a flight back to Blighty.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Consider if you will, the title of Kate McCann's autobiographical chiclit .... madeleine - with a little m.

No surprise the precious lost daughter is presented by a little 'm' as she is anything but the focal point in the mind of Ms McCann.  Browsing the book content, little Madeleine is shoved aside in favour of the key players .... Ms McCann and her old man, plus a range of assorted friends, family, colleagues, associates and the local pub landlady for good measure.

Focusing on the books record of daily events during that fateful weeks holiday break, Ms McCann is keen to describe what she, her old man and friends did from hour to hour, day to day - the children however are only mentioned in passing.

The parents lounged around the pool, played tennis, went for a run and whatever else but the children were dropped off and collected from the childcare rooms.  The day of arrival is described in detail, at least as regards their movements and Madeleine's desire to dip in the freezing pool.  The next day, Sunday 29th April 2007, Ms McCann describes how they booked the kids into the care facilities, met the nanny Catriona Baker (no mention of the twins carer), organized the evenings jollies at the Tapas restaurant - so on so forth.

Henceforth, Monday 30th April onward, the kids - Madeleine primarily, is vaguely mentioned playing in the playground, at the beach for a short while and generally getting stuck-in with the kids activities.

Earlier in the book, Ms McCann makes a point of mentioning the importance of the family all enjoying themselves in their own way, be it the creche or the tennis courts - who needs kids when you can dump them with someone else to entertain them?  Clearly not Messrs McCann.

Now I would think, whether the parents spent their time with the kids or not, the most memorable moments of a family holiday are photographs, what the kids did during the day, what the kids did at lunchtime, what the kids did at teatime, what the kids did at playtime, what the kids did at bedtime.

Where is the evidence?  All the PJ investigation had to work on was the word of the McCanns and their friends - their version of the truth.  That is the situation we find ourselves in to this very day - that's of course if you don't deviate from the accepted narrative, the gospel according to McCann.

So, where is the evidence of Madeleine being alive and well after Sunday 29th April 2007?

Folk who are reticent or downright obstinate accepting the possibility that Madeleine McCann met her fate before late afternoon or the night of 3rd May 2007, appear to have little or nothing to rely on but the word of a few witness statements.  Witnesses who were going about their daily work, meeting new visitors daily and/or weekly with only a vague remembrance of any particular day or time or event or person between Saturday 28th April and Thursday 3rd May 2007.  Even Kate McCann doesn't seem able to recount her own child's movements during the week - the twins are also pushed aside.

I mean no disrespect to the witnesses, I don't expect people to be able to recall an event with any degree of accuracy.

From where I'm standing, the most significant indicative is the absence of photographic evidence and the total lack of conclusive evidence to confirm Madeleine McCann's presence at the Ocean Club between the Sunday morning and Thursday night, the alleged time of disappearance.

Kate McCann's autobiographical novel is assuredly Prosecution Exhibit 1.

Before people jump in with the well worn phrase  Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence
they could re-read the Chapter http://whatreallyhappenedtomadeleinemccann.blogspot.com/2016/08/chapter-17-some-philosophical-thoughts.html

and begin to understand this sentence as meaning  "the absence of photographic evidence where we would reasonably expect to have found not just some, but an excess, a plethora, a super-abundance, . .   But there is nothing."

On our arrival we had lowered the blind-style shutters on the outside of the windows, which were controlled from the inside, and closed the curtains.

We left them that way all week. This early in the season, the nights were not that warm, there was no need to open a window and we reasoned that having the shutters down and the curtains drawn would keep it cool during the day.

Although it meant the room was very dark, the children weren’t going to be in there in the daytime, and at night we always left the door ajar to let in a little light.

Who in their right mind would leave the shutter and window open during the day or night, situated ^^^ ? Let alone with three very young children inside.

Late August/early September 2007

Once again Gerry wanted to know if the case had now become a murder inquiry. The answer was indirect: ‘You can probably guess that from our lack of response.’ In a slightly threatening manner, Luís asked why I wasn’t looking him straight in the eye. There was no reason, other than that I was incapable of looking at anyone properly: my own eyes were so swollen and sore that I was struggling to keep them from closing completely.

Not sure how I feel about seeing Mr Amaral – for the first time ever, I hasten to add! I know I’m not scared but that man has caused us so much upset and anger because of how he has treated my beautiful Madeleine and the search to find her. He deserves to be miserable and feel fear.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
And so it was that on 11 December 2009 I first laid eyes on Sr Gonçalo Amaral. It was also the first time he had laid eyes on me. It is extraordinary that he could have said and written so many awful things about a person he had never met.
He had obviously spruced himself up in recent months. The moustache, gold chain and bulging tummy familiar to me from unflattering newspaper photographs were nowhere to be seen. Now he was sporting a smart haircut, nice suit and hat, and – an intriguing touch – a diamond earring.
I wasn’t afraid, but I admit that my heart beat a little harder and I clutched my wooden holding cross tightly as he walked past, flanked by his entourage. Here was the person who had been entrusted with finding our little girl and who had failed her – not simply by being unable to find her when he was in charge, but by then speaking out in a way that in effect hindered other people, ourselves included, from finding her.
I couldn’t stop staring at him. It was as if I were trying to look inside his head. If the intensity of a stare could penetrate bone, I’m sure I would have managed it. What made this man tick? How did he rationalize his behaviour? How did he manage to sleep at night?
I believe Gonçalo Amaral has more dignity that to follow by the McCann example - slowly slowly catchy monkey.
As I've said in the past, Snr Amaral has a better chance with the ECHR with a case against the UK than the McCanns could ever hope for against Portugal. Considering the way he was vilified by the national and local press - talking of reputation damage.
No! They didn't only damage Snr Amaral's reputation, they ruined his whole life!
Another guest appeared with a video camera to record his three-year-old daughter playing mini-tennis. He looked a little embarrassed and laughingly remarked to us that filming in this way made him feel like a dirty old man. It led to a conversation between the three of us about paedophiles.
I remember Russell talking about how everything had got a bit out of hand, that these days people were so untrusting you hardly dared speak to children you didn’t know. What he was effectively saying was that the world had become paranoid; that he wanted his daughters to grow up with confidence and a sense of freedom. The other dad and I chipped in with our views – I mentioned not being allowed to take photographs of your own kids in swimming pools any longer – and we agreed that it was a shame things had come to this, especially for the children.
It would be some days before Russell and I were able to acknowledge to each other the horrible irony of this conversation.
Did this alleged video footage ever reach the clutches of Jim Gamble of the CEOP I wonder? If I remember correctly, the assumption is the stranger in question was one Mr Foster, who willingly surrendered his video footage to the UK police, should there have been something significant. As it turned out, Mr Foster's videos showed nothing of interest to the investigation.
The dogs and the reconstruction
>> British consul Bill Henderson and Ambassador John Buck were visiting us on a fairly regular basis and we were seeing the Leicestershire FLOs every day. The flow of information, however, was slow and limited. The Portuguese police were divulging very little to the British police and vetoing many of their suggestions – bringing out specialist dogs, for example, or staging a reconstruction
>> It did emerge, however, that Bob had concerns of his own. He explained that the British police regarded the use of sniffer dogs as intelligence rather than evidence, and he was perplexed at the apparent fixation of the PJ on the idea that Madeleine had died in the apartment. He told Gerry he thought they’d get a shock when the forensic results came back.
>> We would petition the prosecutor, asking to be informed of the evidence against us. At the same time we would put forward our own catalogue of information, which would include my detailed account of our movements from May to September 2007, a record of all our trips in the hire car and Gerry’s research into the reliability (or otherwise) of blood and cadaver dogs.
>> Frustratingly, Crimewatch was not allowed to film a reconstruction of the abduction.
This was something we had wanted from the beginning, in the hope that it would encourage potential witnesses to come forward.
>> In the spring of 2008 – almost a year after Madeleine was last seen – the PJ decided they wanted to conduct a re-enactment in Praia da Luz of the night of 3 May 2007. The participants required were Gerry, me, Fiona, Dave, Jane, Russ, Rachael, Matt, Dianne and Jes Wilkins, to whom Gerry chatted in the street that night just after his last glimpse of Madeleine. They weren’t interested in using actors or stand-ins. So either everyone agreed or the reconstruction wouldn’t go ahead.
>> At that point the tone of the correspondence grew more brusque and what had seemed to be a request began to sound more like a summons. Some people decided they wanted to take legal advice before agreeing to anything. In the end there was no quorum and the plan was abandoned.
Once again Gerry wanted to know if the case had now become a murder inquiry. The answer was indirect: ‘You can probably guess that from our lack of response.’ In a slightly threatening manner, Luís asked why I wasn’t looking him straight in the eye. There was no reason, other than that I was incapable of looking at anyone properly: my own eyes were so swollen and sore that I was struggling to keep them from closing completely.
Surely if your eyes are swollen, the problem is keeping them open!
Kate McCann wrote:But a harsh fact remains. Since July 2008, there has been no police force anywhere actively investigating what has happened to Madeleine. We are the only people looking for her.
The 'search' word has been repeated so many times over the past twelve years, it's never far from the minds and mouths of the parents of Madeleine McCann.  Indeed, the 'search' word is used no less that one hundred and twenty times in Kate McCann's autobiographical novel .... madeleine.
In the words of the stoic hero of this story, Professor Gerald McCann .... 'where is the evidence?'
Good question Professor, where is the evidence of your search?  You talk a lot about no official body proactively [sic] 'searching' for your daughter, leaving you alone to 'search' yourselves but there doesn't seem to be any evidence that either you, or your wife,  have been physically 'searching' for your lost daughter.  Talking about it won't achieve anything, you have to get off your backside and do something.  Even the employment of prvate dicks, at the expense of the Find Madeleine Fund and/or your wealthy benefactor/s, drew a monumental blank - apart from a massive hole in the bank holding monies donated by good hearted people.
Remember, there was a temporary hiatus in your search whilst Operation Grange and the PJ was still active, so say you, then  the residue that you assured the people would be spread across charities for misssing children.  Did you change your mind about that,  or are you still proactively searching?
Answers on the back of a plain brown envelope please addressed to shhhh you know who....
As we were walking up from the beach at about 5pm, I had a call from Cherie Blair, in her final days as wife of the prime minister (her husband Tony would announce his resignation two days later and leave office the following month). She was kind and helpful. She told me it was amazing but encouraging that Madeleine was still the first topic on the news every night. This was only five days after the abduction: as it turned out, our poor daughter would continue to headline the bulletins for some time to come. Cherie also warned me, ‘Whatever happens, your life will never be the same again.’
She mentioned that a friend of hers, Catherine Meyer, was the founder of PACT – Parents and Abducted Children Together – and said she would get in touch with her on my behalf. Doubtless I asked Cherie if there was anything the British government could offer the Portuguese in the way of resources to assist or expedite the search for Madeleine. It wasn’t my intention to make her feel uncomfortable by asking this, and I’m sure I didn’t. We were just so desperate I couldn’t let the opportunity go by.
