A handy 'Telegraph' guide to the 9 abductors and 2 abductresses we are supposed to be looking for
Some of the newspapers have a nice, gentle line when it comes to ridicule or sarcasm.
Today the Daily Telegraph has a report on how 'pleased and delighted' the McCanns are with the continued banning of Goncalo Amaral's 'The Truth About A Lie'.
But it also has, most helpfully, a rogues' gallery containing artists sketches of the 11 abductors we are all supposed to be looking for.
CORRECTION - 9 abductors, and two abductresses - for the McCanns' senior detective Dave Edgar maintains that Jane Tanner might have seen a woman - and indeed on of ther two abductresses shown is that Aussie-speaking 'Victoria Beckham-lookalike' - except that the artists' sketch makes her look quite different from 'Posh Spice'.
Actually, I make it 14 different sketches we've had of the abductor - but I won't quibble too much with the Telegraph's 11.
It does make it hard to look for someone, though.
Isn't it all a tad confusing?
By now, couldn't we narrow it down to, say, one man and one woman?
Anyway, if you want to look at this rogue's gallery, and in case it helps someone 'search for Madeleine', here they all are.
Let's start at...
...say...
...No. 5...

I don't think this one is an described as an abductor, just a man behaving suspiciously with a woman and child in a tavern in Masstrichtersteenweg.
Would that bring the total down?

most of them are people seen in and around PDL, or behaving strangely elsewhere - information from third parties.
Not sure what you're saying about 11 abductors.???

Hi
It calls them suspects not abductors but I only looked at number 5 and didn't look further as he was creepy enough so maybe the others were called something else.
Take care

No, it's just a collection of various artists impressions - of different people in different places at different times. Not artists impressions of a possible abductor.

TB.. Why didn't Amaral find an expert witness to confirm his thoughts that the dog's prove that a corpse had been in the appt and the car... because he couldn't find one.... because he is wrong, as are you. There is no proof that Maddie is dead.

Rather than producing a list from a paper - why not produce a list from the files - there are plenty in there.

Perhaps some of you abduction believes, could help us out here - you insist that Maddie was abducted so anyone in this rogues gallery we should be looking closely at?

No Autumn, because you believe Madeleine to be dead. But if you were keen on changing your opinion I wouldn't bother looking for any of the ones that aren't labelled as possible abductor.

Abductors, suspects on the wall: Who is the creepiest of them all?
Kololi wrote:Hi

Suspects of what? Abducting? Or something else? Clarence Mitchell was very crafty on this. He kept saying: "This is someone we wish to eliminate from our enquiries" or "This is someone we are interested in". Muddying the waters all the time.
but I only looked at number 5 and didn't look further as he was creepy enough
Creepier than No. 4?
so maybe the others were called something else.
Artist's sketch No. 1 is the Victoria Beckham lookalike who, er, according to the sketch, doesn't look anything like Victoria Beckham. As she was looking for her 'new daughter', or 'a quarter', on downtown dockland Barcelona (er, Spain, hundreds of miles from Praia da Luz) at 2am (and talking to a hard-drinking British businessman who had agonisingly agonised for two years before revealing this conversation), and supposedly about to board a boat to Australia, three days after Madeleine was reported missing, it's hard to see how she could be connected to the prison lair '10 miles' from Praia da Luz, in the 'lawless hills around', where Dave Edgar is convinced that Madeleine is being kept.
Take care.
That's a quote from Clarence Mitchell. He said it direct to Goncalo Amaral after Amaral told him his book was about to be published. Amaral took it to mean 'watch out'. What a silly detective to so misunderstand cuddly Clarence.

1)The article doesn't state that all these people are supposed to be abductors.
Tony, why can you never take politeness or nicety as it's meant?

Crafty? is that not what the U.K. police say? someone we wish to eliminate?
I think it's unfair to call that crafty. What would you have preferred him to have said?

Re: A handy 'Telegraph' guide to the 9 abductors and 2 abductresses we are supposed to be looking for
I thought No. 11 (the egg head one) was drawn by Jane Tanner? But the write up beneath the sketch says it's by Simon Russell...but having said that, the write up doesn't make sense, at least not to me:
"The e-fit of a man, as drawn from memory by British-born DVD shop owner Simon Russell after being shown it by police, in Praia Da Luz, following the disappearance of Madeleine McCann"
Shown what? The e-fit he supposedly (according to the Telegraph) drew or something else?
Think I must be having one of my dozy days.

That no 11 I thought was done originally by PJ and Simon recreated it on sky news to show how ridiculous it was of the police to be asking if egg man was recognisable to anyone. Jane didnt have anything to do with it IIRC

Re: A handy 'Telegraph' guide to the 9 abductors and 2 abductresses we are supposed to be looking for
Thank you Bunny ... guess I have some misinformation lodged. My brain obviously needs a good sorting and re-filing
Re: A handy 'Telegraph' guide to the 9 abductors and 2 abductresses we are supposed to be looking for
Did a quick search.
http://mccannfiles.com/id30.html
Under the heading “eggman”
The article was updated (in the red box): The infamous 'eggman' sketch was reported, at the time, to have been produced from the description of a man seen by Nuno Lourenco on the beach at Sagres.
However, following the release of information from the PJ case files, it is now clear the original computer generated image - from which the 'eggman' sketch was subsequently produced by Simon Russell - did actually come from Jane Tanner's description.
Presumably this information was witheld at the time due to the Portuguese judicial laws of secrecy.
Maybe I don't need to sort and re-file my brain....but I do need a better memory
