Andrea Barth, 49, told the trial in Braunschweig, Germany, how in 2003, at the age of 28, she went with her friend Yvonna Baumann to stay with Brueckner at his home.
She said Brueckner picked them up in an "incredibly dirty" car from the airport.
He warned the pair to stay out of his bedroom, before heading into the town, Barth said.
She told the court the cottage was covered in dirt, with a video camera and cassettes strewn across the floor.
After spending hours attempting to clear just a fraction of the squalor inside, she said she started to panic about what he might later do to her and her friend when he returned. 
She said: “I hadn’t found out who he was etc, and then I started to say - something isn’t right here.
“There are no neighbours, no streets nearby, And I was afraid because I was not sure if he was then coming back with some men and that we would then be classic rape victims.”
Barth said she and Baumann armed themselves with kitchen knives before Brueckner returned drunk and went to sleep.
When he awoke early the next morning, they demanded he drop them in the city so they could stay at a hotel, Barth told the court.
Brueckner, already serving seven years for a 2019 conviction for rape, is on trial for a string of rape and indecent exposure claims.
On Wednesday, the court also heard how Brueckner was part of a paedophile ring that terrified his friends.
Nadia P, who used to live in Praia da Luz, said she heard about vile rape videos uncovered by Brueckner's former pals at his house.
She told the court that Maddie witness Helge B told her about the tapes and a "video mafia" he thought was after him.
He claimed one tape showed Brueckner wearing a mask as he raped an elderly lady and a girl as young as 13.
Nadia P revealed Helge B fled Portugal after finding the footage as he was afraid a "video mafia" Brueckner was part of would come after him.

The witness said: "Helge Busching was afraid.

"He said he had to flee the country because he knew as soon as Brueckner came out of prison that he would know that he had broken into his house.

"Helge Busching was afraid because he thought that there was a video mafia and a porno mafia. That was his fear."

Nadia P said when she became aware Brueckner had been linked to the Madeleine McCann case, she contacted the German FBI to reveal what she knew.

The three-year-old vanished on May 3, 2007, after her parents left her and her siblings sleeping in their apartment while they dined at a nearby tapas bar in Praia da Luz.

A former friend of Brueckner's claimed he stole the toddler to sell her to a paedophile network, a witness has claimed.

Brueckner has denied all claims against him.

Dieter F, a hospital minibus driver, has twice given evidence to German detectives in the case of the missing British toddler.

And Dieter was told by Brueckner he had a hiding place in his winnebago large enough to ‘hide a small child’.

He believes the paedophile snatched the three-year-old toddler and brought her to the five-bed detached villa, 45 mins inland from Praia da Luz.

His daughter has already admitted he was at her home that night and he ‘arrived late’ en route from Tomar, in north Portugal, but left early the following morning.

“I’ve twice told the BKA police they must dig up the garden and home,” Dieter told the Olive Press.

“Unfortunately, I think she is responsible and getting easy money is everything to her.”

His daughter, a mother-of-three, based in Schweinfurt, has been interviewed four times by police over Brueckner’s movements at the time.

A BKA source told the Olive Press this week they ‘still hope to undertake more searches soon’ in Portugal and this ‘could include Foral’.

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said: “We gave the info from Dieter to the Portuguese police but I don’t know if they are going to do anything.

“We can only ask them. If they want to do it they do it, if they don’t, they don’t. We can’t go on our own.”

He added: “I can’t confirm how many times we have spoken to this lady but it is various times.

“She is a witness in the Maddie case but I can’t say how important.”

They can't have been lured back to Brueckner's place against their will, Andrea Barth said he picked them up at the airport.

Really convinced? Based upon personal witness observation, study of the PJ files or simply trying to reinforce a British media smear - white ant style?

Based on the PJ files and the statement of 12 year old Tasmin Sillence who saw the same man on 2 seperate occasions.
Having seen photo's of Brueckner in sunglasses, and compairing them with Tasmin's police E-FIT in my opinion, it's Brueckner she saw.

Shame no one (including CB) seems to know where he was that Week.

He will now be asked to give Evidence at Brückner's Trial.

A source close to the legal team said: 'We will be calling the British police from Operation Grange to give evidence – especially those officers that talked to Mr Helge Busching.

If and when Brueckner is in court for the abduction and murder of Madeleine, it will be interesting if detectives from Operation Grange are called to give evidence, unless of course, everything has already been said.

It is all to do with Herr Fülscher's attempts to DESTROY the Credibility of Helge B as a Witness.

So far a lot of what Helge B has to say has been recorded one way or another.
It will be interesting to see if he has kept anything back for the court case, if not he has no proof of anything he say's, it's all supposition.

Or like Carl Beech in the U.K., a well Researched and highly likely Lie.
