I'm sure that when the full editorial teams at all newspapers and TV stations meet to discuss the big stories first thing on Monday morning, this will be on the agenda. At the weekends there is a skeleton staff at most media outlets and unless it's a major breaking story that needs immediate attention, senior editors are enjoying their weekends and are usually prepared to let things wait unless they think they are going to be scooped. But to some extent the ST has already done that anyway. They will then attempt to make the story stand up (an important detail that must not be forgotten) and then decide where to take it. So expect more developments. But it should cast a different light on how they report M's disappearance from now on since it will be impossible to criticise the PJ with any conviction.

Because murdoch does not approve every single thing that gets printed in all of his papers/news outlets, its not like hes been sitting on this information and has decided hes going to blow the case open. It was a article written by a journalist, that was slightly critical of the McCanns, thats it.

If the the ST have seen the report does it mean SY passed it to them? Sounds silly, but if Exton supplied it, he now could be facing being sued right? But what has changed all of a sudden after 5 years?

I see the BBC and most of the other media/newpapers are not reporting on this?!

Strange, especially considering they have been all been reporting on the recent news surrounding the case.

Seems to me that they are being very selective on what they are reporting on, which highlights how one-sided their reporting is.

I explained earlier that they will be checking the story out when they all get back to work on Monday morning. Besides, the Telegraph is already going with it, and the Times Online is now following on from its sister paper
