And wasn't it the public prosecutor who said that the McCanns have "failed to prove their complete innocence in the disappearance of Madeleine" before the case was shelved?

We began with an abduction scenario:
The child’s parents immediately attributed her disappearance to the action of a third party, promoting the scenario that she had been abducted. Abduction was only one of a number of possible scenarios, but the family publicised their claim that Madeleine had been abducted in a manner that had never been seen before. On the very next day, English television stations led their broadcasts with the news of Madeleine’s disappearance. The media presented the abduction as the truth, although we were looking at other scenarios.
As time went by, the abduction scenario was not confirmed. The abduction hypothesis did not stand up. For instance, no ransom was ever demanded in exchange for information by the alleged kidnappers or for the child herself.

The sad thing is that Hubbard et al. have probably never actually read or scrutinised any of the available evidence, as it might challenge their pre-conceptions.

GA was shown on Portugese TV walking into the Court. It they are reporting in Portugese we wouldn't able to understand it anyway. laughat

Perhaps one of our Portugese members on the forum may be able to advise us later if they are not on line at the moment.

It would be interesting to know if Joana Morais is in court or if it is closed to outsiders.

Looks like it. Probably got the witnesses mixed up too, didn't they say Susan Healy was a witness, probably Susan Hubbard.

In a case when one of either parties in litigation requests for the case to be heard behind closed doors, a/o with the media excluded, it is usual for the Court to ask for the other sides opinion on that.

If the other party also wants it heard behind closed doors, the Court will most likely order doors closed.

If the other party disagrees however, chances are there will be public hearings.

This raises the question, why the McCs would be so ill advised as to reject the cloak of deniability, both regarding their own witnesses as re Dr Amarals.

All very unusual, from a legal point of view IMO

Thanks. I know Joana is a friend of GA but I thought the Court may have been closed to outsiders (besides chosen press) if there was any chance that any previously unknown facts that may come out, and could get into the public domain, could jeopardise the SY & PJ investigations.
