Time and time again, it's 'she was very loving'. not 'I love her so much'.
Yes, like the video in the kitchen where she points out the drawings (so signally missing in PdL) she seems to be grieving for a dead child. Nowadays Kate looks almost ill. Four years of having to carry that with you will take a toll.
Still, her spitefulness towards people who do not agree with her, her lying about e.g. Mrs. Fenn and Yvonne Martin, trying to ruin Amaral, the ghastly narcissism in the book, weigh against her. I don't like her and never will.

Kate's TRUE emotion at 0.26 appears to be grief.

It is not 'worry' that Madeleine may be in the hands of pedophiles.

It is one of the moments where Kate has shown true emotion.....The death of her child?

According to the Official Police Files, Madeleine died in the apartment....

Is Kate 'telling' us that Madeleine is dead?

That would mean that the FUND to 'search' for Madeleine is a fraud.....never mind the cost of the investigation in Portugal and UK....

The McCanns will be responsible for MILLIONS of pounds if it is proven that Madeleine DID die in the apartment as the Police claim....

Is it any wonder they dedicate their life to 'damage control' by pretending to 'search' for Madeleine...they cannot afford to let anyone believe Madeleine is dead...regardless that the police files claim otherwise...

I agree with you this is grief for a child.

In a way it served it's purpose adequately to convince people how upset they were - I think they used it as a mask.

Very, very sad.
