Post by Tony Bennett 17.10.17 11:06

It was on 14 October 2013 that Crimewatch had its most famous, most popular moment ever.

With a huge build-up in the days before, at 9pm on Monday, 14 October 2013, the BBC transmitted the 'BBC CRIMEWATCH McCANN SPECIAL. It was an hour-long show that was watched by millions of viewers - variously estimated at between 6.7 and 7.1 million.

It was a remarkable transmission for many reasons.

It included a reconstruction that bore very little resemblance to the facts of the case as we now know them.

It featured a main suspect, 'Smithman', which has caused a fractious division between two camps - those who insist Martin Smith and his family really did see Gerry McCann carrying his 'just-died' daughter, and those who claim that his 'sighting' was a complete fabrication.

Equally controversial was Crimewatch's claim that DCI Redwood had 'found' Crecheman, who, it was claimed, had suddenly come forward and said: "I am Tannerman".

The BBC admitted to having spent over £1 million preparing this programme, and, as it was prepared for several months in close collaboration with the Metropolitan Police, the Met probably spent a similar amount. Actors had to be recruited for the bogus reconstruction. A script had to be written and rehearsed. No expense was spared.

But four years later, Crimewatch is to be shut down for ever.

There was an interesting connection between Crimewatch's intense coverage of both the Jill Dando murder and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, namely:

Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell.

Six months after the shooting dead of Dando by a professional hit-man, Campbell was brought in to the case as the Investigating Officer. A few months later, Barry Bulsara/George was arrested and, later, wrongfully convicted, of Dando's murder. When, 8 years later, Bulsara was freed by the Court of Appeal, the judges virtually accused Campbell of planting forensic evidence in the form of firearms residue (matching the weapon that killed Jill Dando) in Bulsara's coat pocket.

The murderer of Jill Dando is still at large.

Hamish Campbell is also on record as having been the person who devised the binding remit on Operation Grange: "Only investigate the abduction".

The person(s) responsible for the reported disappearance of Madeleine McCann is/are still at large.

There is one further co-incidence between the Dando murder and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

The first reporter at the scene of Dando's murder was BBC Crime Reporter Clarence Mitchell.

The government propagandist appointed to manage public relations for the Madeleine McCann case was Clarence Mitchell.

Is there possibly some sinister link between the murder of Jill Dando and the reported disappearance of Madeleine McCann?

Here is the Guardian's report:

BBC axes Crimewatch after 33 years

Programme thought to have helped find killers of James Bulger and Toni-Ann Byfield to make way for new shows

It has been credited with helping solve some of the country’s most notorious crimes. But, after 33 years, Crimewatch has served its time, the BBC has announced.

The programme is being cancelled to make way for other programming, the corporation said, though it will broadcast more of the daytime sister edition, Crimewatch Roadshow.

James Harding’s comments after announcing he is to quit as head of news may suggest the corporation is going through a crisis of confidence

“We believe the successful Crimewatch Roadshow format in daytime is the best fit for the brand going forward and we will increase the number of episodes to make two series a year,” a spokesperson said.

“We are incredibly proud of Crimewatch and the great work it has done over the years and the work Crimewatch Roadshow will continue to do, and this move will also allow us to create room for new innovative programmes in peak time on BBC One.”

The show, which reconstructs unsolved crimes in an attempt to gather information from the public, was relaunched in September 2016 and was most recently presented by Jeremy Vine and Tina Daheley.

Sue Cook and Nick Ross hosted the first show in 1984, which featured the murder of 16-year-old Colette Aram, who disappeared as she walked to her boyfriend’s house in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire, in October 1983.

Among the crimes its broadcasts are thought to have had a hand in solving are the murders of the toddler James Bulger and Bertram and Toni-Ann Byfield.

In 1993, Crimewatch broadcast the grainy CCTV footage of two 10-year-old boys at a shopping centre in Bootle. After the show, two witnesses rang in and confirmed they had seen Robert Thompson and Jon Venables with James Bulger. They were later convicted over his abduction and murder.

Following another appeal on the programme, Joel Smith was turned in and is serving at least 40 years in prison for the murders of the Byfields. Smith shot Bertram three times in his living room and then shot seven-year-old Toni-Ann in the back as she tried to escape.

An appeal on Crimewatch was also a factor in the wrongful conviction of Barry George for the murder of the programme’s former presenter Jill Dando. Calls made to the programme in 1999 led police on a new line of inquiry that resulted in George’s arrest. He was eventually acquitted in 2008.

Other crimes to have featured on the show over the past 33 years have included the murders of Rhys Jones and Damilola Taylor, as well as the disappearances of Madeleine McCann, Suzy Lamplugh and Claudia Lawrence.

Ah DCI Redwood and DCI Campbell, with links to Simon Foy and Mark Rowley, joined at the hip coppers so to speak?

Jill Dando was investigating or had warned her BBC bosses of another reptilian suspect, who had also evaded the Police for so many years, with associations to big Cyril,Ted and members of the Queens family?

Jill Dando had a close friendly relationship with cliff Richard, but nothing came out of the meetings they had together,Jill, then met her boyfriend, when her life was cut so tragically short,Jill's Boyfriend is now or has become a leading Obstetrician, who delivered William,Kate's children into the world?
There have been various mysterious accidents deaths of BBC personnel,Mike Smith,Jill Dando with claims made to bosses of incidents that had ,had an effect on them, prior to the deaths?
It is thought Jill Dando had been murdered by a gang from the Balkans, who were seeking revenge for the NATO bombings in Balkans causing the divisions of the States,Kossavo old Yugoslavia,Croatia?
Clarence Mitchell,Soham murders,Lori Campbell,Madeleine McCann, then add in Robert Murat, martin Brunt and a certain Mr Kennedy, enough said, secret meetings with Lawyers in the middle of a Police investigation and in whose interest were these people working in,Madeleine McCann or there parents interest?

Probably not, but they have been complicit in some of the notorious dis-information spreading.

Jill Dando met Alan Farthing, fell in love and moved in with him. She put her home on the market. One day, she paid a visit to the property, and as she walked down her path to open the front door, she was shot dead on the doorstep.

Who knew she would be there that day?

Probably very few people knew of Jill Dandos plans that day, I'd be surprised if she hadn't told her boyfriend.
She hadn't been anywhere else that day, but on her way to check on her home she went to a shop, so it wasn't a direct drive from one house to the other, the journey had a detour.

Either she was followed, or the hit man was tipped off and waited for her arrival. Personally, I believe he was tipped off, only because if she was followed then she could have been shot outside the shop, as the hitman wouldn't know where her next stop would be, or if it would be secluded.

To be trusted by the public, Crimewatch has to genuinely help in solving crimes, which it has done over it's 33 years. The more reliable the show is, the easier it becomes to fool the ill informed with disinformation like the McCann reconstruction.

In Madeleine McCann's Ten years of the case, the BBC has screened at least Four Crime Watch Programmes and Two Richard Bilton specials, they really are a pernickety bunch to convince in the UK yer know, what do you not believe about this case, that there was Never an abduction?

Just a thought on the horrible murder of Jill Dando and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann ...I marvel at the ability of both Alan Farthing and Gerald Mccann to resume their medical careers and climb the lofty ladder of success in spite of experiencing huge personal trauma which would render most people incapable of carrying on 'business as usual'. Strange, isn't it?

Crecheman is still a mystery.

He walked past the flat... where is his witness statement?

He could have vital evidence.

In my opinion Crecheman is complete fiction.

It would be nice to get the Police to give more details wouldn't it?

Indeed, and why was the 'eliminated' Tannerman' never identified? Because he never existed.

Imagine blowing the lid on the Police inventing a fictitious person in this case.

If Crecheman existed, did they forward his details to the PJ?

If the PJ know nothing about him then I think we have our answer.

Would Goncarlo Amaral or Peter Mac be able to find out?

There are two entirely independent investigations going on here and never the twain shall meet.  One official - as in the PJ, the other unofficial - as in Operation Grange.  Despite what's been reported, the Portuguese and UK respective police are not working in unison - stands to reason.  Cooperation with Portugal would most definitely not suit the general purpose of Operation 'the establishment' Grange and why the hell should Portugal show any respect for the UK after all the slanderous things Mitchell 'arranged' to be published in the press about their sardine munching disgraced bungling cops?

Crecheman, the all encompassing body to exonerate Jane Tanner's contrived monumental faux-pas.  Crecheman who, by some bizarre coincidence, just happened to resemble the man aimlessly carrying a prostrate child through the streets of Praia da Luz that Tanner claims to have seen.  Still, Crecheman is almost certainly [sic] the mystery 'Tannerman' man - so say ex-DCI Redwood of the Yard.  He wasn't dressed like a tourist.

Do they think we've all just arrived at the shores of Blighty on a bateau banane?  Watch out for a tarantula - they can be dangerous.

They did claim they were cooperating.

I would seriously like to know if Crecheman details were given to the PJ to help their investigation.

OG wouldn't want the PJ wasting their time if they could clear up that part of the story.

And surely the PJ would like to talk to this person who was in the area at the time?

I'm serious, this should be chased up by someone with the clout to ask questions.

This is taxpayers money being spent in the UK and Portugal.

If you want to sell anything at all you do it firstly by creating fear. If you don't buy this product you are irresponsible.

To further bolster the instilling fear that your life matters,  it is essential to introduce the guilt factor.

To further take you into the sickness that is capitalism v socialism, there is the lovely introduction of consumer greed where you can buy a cheap gilded lily in your local supermarket or look for a better one, adorn a beautiful baby with nonsense and post it on social media to say how fabulous your life is and tell your friends it's great to be a parent, it's great to engage with people on social media, who not only don't care about my family but want to post positive photographs of their own family. It's a trend to show how proud to be the owner of a big bum and take naked photos of a woman with a pregnant belly.

I'm having a rant.

Hi aquila, that's the message they want to convey,as the saying goes"The Devil makes work for Idle Hands"?
If everyone is kept busy they cannot discus or investigate something properly,"Look Over There,Not Over Here"taking note Mr Rowley?
It is only thanks to the Devilment of certain factions that Madeleine's case is still in the Headlines, remember their own words,"Not bothered if the case was re-opened"?
They soon changed their minds,by pestering a sitting Prime Minister,David Cameron,Home Secretary Theresa May,Rebekah Brooks,Leveson Inquiry, all to run alongside, their own civil defamation case brought about in Portugal 2008 for over £1 Million Pounds?
They wanted the Original case closed as soon as possible in 2008,Twelve to eighteen months after their daughter was reported as missing?
They soon Headed back to Portugal to file their civil Action against Mr Goncalo Amaral, video Company, over,"The Truth of the Lie" but Never Ever asked the Portuguese authority to Re-Open the case, whilst in Portugal, wonder why they never did that, but wanted an"English review"of the case?
Do you have friends in Very high places within the UK Police authorities,as April the 28th has shown in Phone Records?

madeleine by KATE MCCANN - Friday 4th May 2007

That morning I learned of the man Jane had seen in the street.  Although Gerry and our friends had been trying to protect me from further distress by not telling me about this sooner, when they did I was strangely relieved. Madeleine hadn’t just disappeared off the face of the earth. There was something to work on.

This man was around thirty-five, forty years old, dark-haired and of southern European or Mediterranean appearance. His everyday clothes – beige or gold coloured trousers and a dark jacket – gave Jane the impression he was not a tourist. He was carrying the sleeping child horizontally across his arms, the child’s legs dangling.

Though she had no reason, at that point, to be at all suspicious of him, clearly there was something odd enough about what she saw for her to register the image. While he had been dressed for the cold evening, the child was barefoot and not covered by a blanket. Although Jane had never seen or known about Madeleine’s Eeyore pyjamas, her description of this child’s night clothes – light-coloured pink or white pyjamas with a ‘trailing’ or floral pattern and turn-ups on the bottoms – matched Madeleine’s almost exactly. From the style of these pyjamas, she had also assumed the child was a girl.

There was little doubt in my mind then, nor is there now, that what Jane saw was Madeleine’s abductor taking her away. But in spite of the fact that she’d reported this to both the GNR and PJ straight away, it would be 25 May before her description of the man and child was released to the press.

Exactly 4 years after DCI Redwood 'found' Crecheman for BBC's Crimewatch, Crimewatch is no more Stickerbook1
Timeline drawn up by the Tapas group on the night of 3rd/4th May 2007

Jane Tanner's description of the mystery man as reported to the PJ on 4th May 2007..

Personal description:

Dark skinned individual, male sex, aged between 35-40, slim physical appearance, about 1.70m tall. Very dark, thick hair, longer at the back (she could only see him from behind). He was wearing linen type cloth trousers, beige to golden in colour, a "duffy" sic type jacket (but not that thick). His shoes were dark in colour, classic type. He had a hurried walk. He was carrying a child, who was lying on both his arms, in front of his chest. By the way he was dressed, he gave her the impression that he was not a tourist, because he was very "warmly dressed".

About the child whom appeared to be sleeping, she only saw her legs. The child appeared to be older than a baby. She was barefoot and was wearing what appeared to be cotton pyjamas of a light colour (possibly white or light pink). She is not certain, but has the impression a design on the pyjamas, possibly a floral pattern, but she is not certain.

As regards these details, she does not know what Madeleine was wearing at the moment of her disappearance, because she did not talk to anyone about this. As she concerns the man she saw, she only spoke to Gerald about this, not entering into details, and to the police.

When requested, she drew a sketch, which is joined to this statement.

When asked, she says she would probably be able to identify the individual she saw, being able to identify him from the side and from his manner of walking.

In the light of ex-DCI Andy Redwood's 'revelation moment', I wonder if Ms Healy is still convinced that the mystery man was aimlessly carrying her child around the streets of Praia da Luz on the night of 3rd May 2007 - coincidently at the same time as Jane Tanner was flip-flopping about?  I wonder if Ms Healy still feels the same warmth towards her friend who seemingly wasted six years of precious 'search' time by focusing on a cul-de-sac?

Exactly 4 years after DCI Redwood 'found' Crecheman for BBC's Crimewatch, Crimewatch is no more Empty Exactly four Years

Hi Verdi, where would it leave Madeleine McCann's disappearance,if it is ever proved that certain events may not have happened?
Do you think the MSM would apologise for having believed a PR firm Bell-Pottinger, paid £500,000 by the Family?
Metodo 3, Kevin Haligen,Dave Edgar,Alistair Cowley, 2009 documentary?
Clarence Mitchell with his lurid fictional accounts to Australian people, making statements he could not account for,as he clearly states he wasn't there at the time of Madeleine's disappearance, but anything espoused out of the Parent's mouths was Gospel??
Mr Tony Bennett was clearly stitched up by Carte Ruck in the High Court,in London, when their own Lawyers had to Admit to the High Court, they were acting on what the Parents had Told them,of what had happened to Madeleine, when she disappeared from apartment 5a Ocean Club,3 May 2007?
Have people been duped to arrange finances to re-open,review,then an investigation,Operation Grange, that just coincidently happens to have an association to a civil defamation claim,by the parents begun in 2008?
The public have been asking for years,is there any connection of Operation Grange and the civil claim brought by Kate,Gerry McCann, which would be the best part the last seven Years,Jim Gamble,Scotland Yard 2010?

A civil action was initiated in Portugal. Who funded it is not clear - just as the limited company's accounts are not clear. Esther McVey openly declared the limited company at the time was unable to support litigation costs on behalf of the parents and removed herself/was removed and rewarded from the debacle. There was also speculation/breaking news headlines that Carter Ruck worked quietly behind the scenes for no financial reward. I rather doubt Carter Ruck does anything without payment and if I'm wrong I'll stand in the dock and apologize, just as the media bloke, who stood before a High Court Judge told him that he lied when he sought to purchase a banned book from Tony Bennett and yet he looked a High Court Judge in the face and said 'I lied' and walked out of the Court with an unbelievable grin on his face.

Yes he did - using other fake ID's - Jason Peters, Michael Sangerte, Peter Tarwin, Alan Tiperton. He even used a woman's name, MarthaB. He did also use his real name, and a variety of it e.g. Mike Gunnill, MGunnill, MikGunnill etc.

He really wanted to be here.

I remember Al...call me Al. After seeing Al lying in the dock and swishing out of the Court with a smug grin on his face I took my first taste of lack of justice.
