I happen to think it is further than 300m, but I can't see the relevance. All I do know is that 300m cannot be walked in 2 minutes - you'd have to jog at about 6mph.

I've got the Streetview image on my blog right now, but as I said, is it important? It happens to be on the jogging route from the OC to the cliffs to the east of Luz, which may explain why someone is claiming the McCanns were seen around there several times. Is that important? Personally, I think not.

Paul Luckman, owner and publisher of Portugal News, was told by a dog handler who searched that Villa:

"The search dog handler said the villa had a room with a kind of amateur studio with video equipment and cameras with children’s toys and pictures of children on the wall. He felt it was something to do with paedophiles. He told the police and they seemed to know something about it, but we don’t think they took it any further."

Now CF has been outed as a paedophile, one would think this would be regarded as very significant?

Forgive me, I'm a bit late to the party Elça Craig, I'm almost 6ft 4ins. tall. My walking pace is around 4-5mph, sometimes faster. I have checked against the journey planner for tfl and I select "Walking Pace - Fast" and still commonly beat the machine. May be important, maybe not. Apropo nothing, you get a +1 for "getting your Google Out" Good times!!!

Have the McCan'ts LOST the PSC 'appeal', even before it's 'begun'?

They kept very, VERY 'SCHTUM' about trying to get a 'judge' REMOVED from the appellate court, 'hearing' their last LOST 'appeal' didn't they?

The man was carrying the child. It was ascertained at that time that the aforementioned situation would not be of interest to the investigation.

I didn’t even associate it to this man.

I thought she was referring to a new ‘Smithman’ sighting after midnight, but ‘he saw a couple passing Lagos Marina and the man was carrying the child’, so technically I suppose you could say her reporting is almost correct, albeit misleading.

Anything to bring another ‘suspect’ back into the fray and I wonder how long it will be before we go full circle and get back to the ‘MM whisked off in a boat’ reports again?

Would this per chance be the same 'George' Burke/Brooks?

I explained to her my relationship to the McCanns and she told me that her father 'George' had seen a man carrying a child in his arms in the early morning of 4 May in the resort. I asked her if her father had spoken about this to the Portuguese authorities. I don't know if the information was ever investigated."

Michael Terrence Wright of Skipton Yorkshire, close friend of the McCanns for many years, named co-driver of the hired Renault Scenic and prominent figure in the summer of 2007. What a curious conversation to take place when ordering pizza from a stranger.

I don't think it would be that strange given what had happened,I am sure it was the only topic of conversation...what I would find strange would be if this was the first time that Michael Wright had mentioned it to the police, almost a year after Madeleine disappeared.

The thing that confuses me about this claimed liaison between the McCanns and Clement Freud is the lack of evidence to verify. The only mention I've ever seen is that made by Kate McCann's autobiography - 'madeleine'.

I think it was recently mentioned on the forum but I've just checked Gerry McCann's blog (http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk) for both occasions - the original invitation by letter in July and the later meet in late August/early September 2007. Not so much as a mention, something I would expect the likes of Gerry McCann to be boasting about for at least a decade. Nor have I seen confirmation of the events from any other source, close to the family or otherwise.

No report in the Portuguese or UK press at the time and as far as I'm aware it wasn't mentioned by Goncalo Amaral in The Truth of the Lie. Again I would expect some reference to the events as Mr. Amaral was particular concerned about British interference.

Has anyone out there seen anything to confirm a liaison?
