Glen Mulcaire held over hacking
Private investigator Glenn Mulcaire has been arrested as part of the phone-hacking inquiry, according to Sky sources.
Police said a 41-year-old man was arrested this morning as part of Operation Weeting.
A spokesman said the man was detained on suspicion of conspiring to intercept voicemail messages.
Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt said Mr Mulcaire's lawyer refused to discuss the development but may issue a statement later today.
Mr Mulcaire, who had worked for the News of the World, is the 18th suspect to be arrested as part of the inquiry.
Those also questioned include former News International Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks and David Cameron's former spokesman Andy Coulson.
It is thought more than 1,800 people have come forward with concerns that they have been hacked.
It also led to the closure of the News of the World newspaper.
