DCB you don't leave detectable fingerprints on every surface you touch.

I think abductors have the same ridge detail and sweat as the rest of us DCB.

A person who entered a premises illegally would be wearing gloves. But if that person came in or out through a window, and the lichen on the sill wasn't disturbed, how did they manage that then? Take a flying leap through it, all whilst holding a child?

Type Location R7R V
1 DIGT next to the living room window/door “A” DB/T Suf
8 DIGT exterior living room door/window DB/T Insuf
1 DIGT exterior living room door/window CC T Insuf
3 DIGT exterior of blind children’s bedroom DB T Insuf

Thats all I can find about a fingerprint on the shutter. Can anyone find anything else as I would have thought others would have "tried" it as well as Mrs Webster.

That isn't necessarily so.

But if that person came in or out through a window, and the lichen on the sill wasn't disturbed, how did they manage that then? Take a flying leap through it, all whilst holding a child?

Why would that person need to either enter or exit through the window?

ETA: Is there a close up photo of the lichen....I think there are different kinds. Would be interesting to see it.

Looking at the pictures - there was no lichen. (although some police expert from 100's of miles away passed a comment about this without seeing the scene in the very early days and started a forum rumour). Of course passing a child through a window to someone else would not disturb the non existent lichen in any event.

But the point is - Webster admitted trying the shutters - why were her prints not found?

I have seen pictures of the red stuff to detect fingerprints on the outside of the shutters - but not inside. If you were going to try and lift them wouldn't you wrap your fingers underneath (pointing away from you with hands upturned, palms supporting the weight and doing the lifting) - so would the fingerprints have been on the inside of the shutters at the very bottom?

Probably. I think I've seen a picture though that looked like as if there was red powder on the inside of the shutters (will try to find it), could have been spilled powder perhaps? Haven't seen a report about it.

Looks like the forum is back to green? My eyes are grateful for that.

Re "red powder on the inside of the shutters" may be I was wrong about that, not sure.

Take a look at http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/P4/04_VOLUME_IVa_Page_969.jpg use Ctr + to enlarge the photo's.

Left picture shutters from the outside - closed.
Right picture shutters & window from the inside - partly open. Looks as if it's got the red powder at the bottom of the shutters.
On the exterior pictures you can see there's red powder spilled under the shutters on the windowsill.

This page made me think they examined the inside of the shutters : http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/P4/04_VOLUME_IVa_Page_971.jpg
but when reading what's written under those photo's it looks like it's the patio doors and their shutters.
Sorry.
