Re: IVF Revisited
@ NickE If Stephen Carpenter was, as indicated above, born in 1955 then it is quite possible that he had older children from a previous relationship. If they lived with their mother this, together with the fact that it was term-time and they were of school going age, would account for them not going on that holiday.

Re: IVF Revisited
Maddie's hair was found in the hire car could they not get DNA from the hair samples and what about her hairbrush or comb unless the hair had been remove by the McCann's of course. Very odd and difficult people no DNA coming from Portugal Maddie's last known destination weird.

For Paulo Sargento, the thesis that Gonçalo Amaral revealed at first hand to "SP" that the blanket could have been used in a funeral ceremony at the Luz chapel "is very interesting".
And he adds: "In reality, when the McCanns went to Oprah's Show, the blanket was mentioned. At a given moment, when Oprah tells Kate that she heard her mention a blanket several times, Kate argued that a mother who misses a child always wants to know if she is comfortable, if she is warm, and added, referring to Maddie, that sometimes she asked herself if the person who had taken her would cover her up with her little blanket (but the blanket was on the bed after Maddie, supposedly, disappeared!!!).

The apartment was professionally cleansed. It is not possible for 3 kids not to exude DNA everywhere; toys, hair brushes clothing , tooth brushes, detritus and bedding. As parents we all know kids make a filthy mess and also we never share direct body contact items due to personal hygene risks.ROSA wrote:Maddie's hair was found in the hire car could they not get DNA from the hair samples and what about her hairbrush or comb unless the hair had been remove by the McCann's of course. Maddie slept in a bed, which was forensically undisturbed, Really?
Why was Gerry McCann allowed to go to the UK and 'find' a control sample pillowcase that had Maddie's DNA on it ???
So how was the cleansing achieved and how long did it take? what was bought, who did it and when?
The PJ files are not helpful in this area, apart from the uk FSS report that used Low Copy Count (LCN) DNA evaluation to derive 15 out of 19 good allele ID samples (4 were too degraded)
Bleach aerosols are effective at degrading DNA; even diluted biological washing powder can work; any NHS doctor can tell you that, (as long as the bloody water does not leach under the floor tiles... oops).

Goodness me - well here's a blast from the past. I thought, or rather hoped, this subject had been put through the mangle and hung out to dry years ago.
Suffice to say..
a) There is no such thing as forensically/professionaly/deeply cleansing a crime scene.
b) DNA samples of the twins were taken from them - they were there.
c) The PJ forensic team were not looking for Madeleine's DNA - they knew she had been there. Dr Amaral later requested a DNA profile of Madeleine to establish confirmation of birth parents.
