It used to be acceptable to leave the baby in the cot with a bottle, maybe with a nip of whiskey in it, and tell the neighbours " I.m away to the pub, listen out fr the baby will u?" When my grandmother told me this when i was a teenage mum i can remember thinking oh my, if only! but it never crossed my mind to actually do something as dangerous as this, apart from tje fact my child was very ill at birth, but even if she wasnt it goes against a mothers intincts. thankfully we are supposedly all better educated about dangers such as cot death etc now. Sounds like Mis. Allsopp was born in the wrong generation, or as someone else said above, she's had nannies to deal with her children while she flounces about trying to be the next Nigella Lawson!
And now Luisa getting in on the act, but will she go any further than the neglect aspect? Or stop short, like all the others being paraded through the MSM, probably being given back handers too.
Another thought i was having today was about PTSD. The supposed abduction should be the single most terrifying thing to have happened to KM in her life. We are told that when this kind of trauma halpens every second is etched into your brain and can be replayed throughout the rest of your life. So all the differences in KM's statements make no sense. Surely she would remember ever last detail, and not need to be reminded, or for that matter the rest of the T9, pretty traumatic for them all too, but cant get their stories straight can they

Hmmmm.
There's a similar 'word meaning' to what Dara said
He said 'sneering at the bereaved'
Kirsty says 'people...castigating greaving (nee: 'grieving') parents'
Perhaps ALL the 'luvvies' KNOW 'something', and have 'always' known 'something', that we don't 'KNOW'!
I'll get 'back' on 'that'..........
Is it that Kirstie can't spell or is her Twitter account run by team McCann / skewl kids ?
The use of grieving is when somebody has died.
So can we say that even when Pro McCanns know Madeleine has died , they still support them operating the Fund and pretending to search.

She picked someone else up on twitter for using "there" instead of "they're", only about five tweets before this.
So i was quick to point out the misspelling of " grieve"
She explained it away as being dyslexic, well if she is she shouldn't be trying to act like the grammar police with others!

One of the most striking features of this case is the involvement of big name celebrities. Even journalists like Mary Nightingale spoke of the couple she had interviewed in biased terms. We didn't see this from journalists in the past. They are supposed to be relaying the news and interviewing not giving a personal opinion. Ditto for Piers Morgan who referred to his heart going out to them after he met and interviewed the couple.
The Metropolitan police have fuelled this further and brought international disgrace on themselves. With all we now know about the Met in general I think it should be disbanded and re-branded. And it isn't just because of this case. Their record over much else is appalling.
As for the public, the sooner we all stop deifying celebrities and get ourselves weaned off this cult that feeds outsized egos who claim the right to pontificate on matters they know nothing about, the better.
All of the aforementioned and many others are signed up to an agency which specialise in promoting speaking engagements for celebrities from every high profile sector from politicians to showbiz.
I have heard many celebrities speak, have passed a few words with quite a number. Some are charming, others taciturn and a couple I have found deeply unpleasant. But in the end, they are just people, like you or me; some with a particular gift or talent, others who just got lucky.
If only the public stopped this celebrity culture in its tracks and ditched all this trashy z lister stuff I believe the wheels of democracy and justice would turn more easily and more equably. I, myself, am reconsidering paying to see anyone in the future.
If anyone stripped the gloss off Kirstie Allsopp this week, it was Kirstie Allsopp herself. It revealed a side to a celebrity that is carefully screened out ordinarily. I will say, of all people, she shocked me most. As I've said elsewhere, I attended an event at Cheltenham where she was interviewed and it did not tally with the side of her that escaped this week.
