Red Flags
HOLMES II and ANACAPA have more modern ways of doing this, flagging up things that don't match, that don't make sense, or that are impossible.
I imagine the computers being used by Grange will have had several breakdowns, or will be the special Heavy Duty versions, with 6 inch nails inserted in place of the 3A fuse
What would act as a red flag in this investigation ?
Last person to see her alive, person who reported missing = Parents
Person who should have done interim check - did not check
Father gives contradictory versions of his actions
False information given about state of shutters
Mother gives contradictory versions of state of curtains
Mother refuses to co-operate with Police
Two versions of “timeline”, and third version agreed later
Significant “witness” fails to tell parents of sighting
On learning of “sighting” not one person follows it up
Parents do not significantly search, but go to bed
Some photos withheld from police
At least one camera withheld from police
Overemphasis on details of Last Photo
Last Photo shown to be falsified
Overemphasis on story about crying previous night
No credible witness to show M alive on 3rd
Parents’ stories do not match weather records
Professional educated friends become inarticulate when interviewed
Parents brief Libel and Extradition legal experts
“Fighting Fund” set up for “defence”
Parents relaxed and laughing within short time
Dogs indicate in no places not associated with parents.
Twins sedated, but no medical checks made
“Pact of Silence”
and so many more

Re: Red Flags
That's it in a nutshell. In this case, there's even no need of hi-tech computer programmes to arrive at this ...

I have seen all the analysis and speculation about the Last Photo, but I didn't know there was definitive proof that it was falsified. Yes, I've seen the version with only Madeleine where you can mysteriously see the detail of the rock that would have been behind Gerry's arm. Is this what you mean?PeterMac wrote:

Re: Red Flags
I would think the deletion of text messages and GM's and RM's mobiles being switched off for precisely the same time period are two facts that would also cause the computers to sound a Klaxon and start shaking/blowing out smoke.

I was also about to ask whether it has been 100% proved that the last photo was in fact fake. I assumed wrongly perhaps, that it was just speculation?
Can anyone confirm for def please....

I would think that it should be possible for the police image experts to ascertain this?

Re: Red Flags
ONLY the mother of 'missing' child SAID window was open.
NO dna evidence of anyone that should not have been in apartment.
NO damage to shutter, (although KM and 'friends' swore blind, on TV, they had been 'jemmied/forced' even 'friends' in UK thousands of miles away)(excellent 'eyesight' uh?)
Blood spots found in apartment (GM&KM 'say' probably from Madeleine 'nose bleed' yet not mentioned by either UNTIL questioned by PJ)
NO MO 'fingerprints' on patio door.
NO 'high shelf' for cc out of Madeleines reach (cos thats how KM 'knew' she'd been 'abducted')
NO mention of JW on either 'handwritten' timelines. (people 'before' and people 'after' abduction 'time' on timeline.........NO JW)
Pink blanket (went walkabout)
NO sportsbag.
NO watches at Tapas.
ONLY McCanns have said 'abduction'
NO personal possessions 'missing' (NONE)
etc

The weather is wrong.Varriott wrote:

At lunchtime on 3rd it was cloudy, cold and there was a stiff Force 4 NW breeze.
The Last Photo shows the weather as hot, bright sunny, and calm. Even Madeleine's hair is barely moving. Force 4 would have blown her hat off.
The cloud did not clear away until early evening, and the wind then died right down to a low Force 2 - 3 (barely able to raise dust and dry leaves)
By 10pm it was almost flat calm, and clear moonlight
No gusts to slam door or whoosh curtains
It all depends on the weather reports, which are in the public domain.
The only weather that fits is Sunday 31st.
And that intuitively makes much more sense.
On the first full day of a holiday everyone explores and takes lots of photos, in case the weather changes - which it did.
(And yes, Grange the PJ and Dr Amaral have all the information.)

Re: Red Flags
NO 'DNA' of missing child although she had been there almost a WEEK! (not a hair, not a skin cell, nada, zilch, nothing, but there WERE blood spots from Madeleine's 'nosebleed')
NO 'SCINTILLA of PROOF or EVIDENCE' of an 'abduction'
JT 'knew' GM had checked his kids and was on way back to tapas (even though she did NOT see him going INTO 5A to check)
JT saying she saw JW/GM by gateway to 5A
GM saying he was other side of road (so could NOT be outside gateway to 5A on the same path as JT)
NO one 'saw' Madeleine being 'abducted'
GM/KM both STATING, identically, on record, that their 'friend' JT, SAW 'abductor' carrying Madeleine, from FIFTY (50) METRES away.

Thanks, PeterMac. I had missed the weather thing. If it means anything, Gerry is wearing the same shorts in the Last Photo as he is in other first-day pictures. I can imagine they took those playground photos when they arrived, then changed into holiday clothes and went out to the pool for photos. If this is true, their brazen lying is truly breathtaking.

That agrees with what I believe - that the photo's pixels haven't been altered, but that the date has been altered - which is very easy to do, I can do it on any Windows PC in seconds. And yes, a photo by the pool is likely to have been taken early in the holiday, not late.

Re: Red Flags
"Last" picture: they made a lot of fuzz of the time not being right on the camera [one hour difference - whereas the U.K. and Portugal are in the same time-zone], thus trying to distract from the DATE not being right ... They've been smoke and mirror specialists for nearly 7 years now, but IMO their tricks are being found out and their luck running out very fast now.

Washing cuddle cat. Nobody with a missing child would have done that.
And then, not being able to understand why it upset so many.
Kate's attitude, it was dirty and smelly so obviously it needed washing, she literally didn't get it.
And also sending all Madeleine's clothes to the launderette, the clothes she took off last before being "abducted". It's not normal behaviour- if you're innocent that is.

It's things like this which leave me to wonder whether Kate has sociopathic tendencies - she appears to not understand how anyone but herself thinks, cannot place herself in anyone else's mind, not even that of her own daughter. I've known somebody like that all my life, and the signs are overwhelmingly apparent from Kate.

Please let that one be a forum myth as it's so gross! :puke:
PeterMac, the Sunday's date was 29th not 31st April.
That still leaves the problem of why wasn't the photo made available immediately if it was really taken on the holiday and why is there such a difference between Madeleine there and in the tennis ball one.

I'm a sceptic on the subject of photoshopping - but I've analysed the tennis photo and come to the conclusion that the head and hat have been pasted in by an amateur. I can post a version of the photo with a low saturation filter and it should be immediately obvious to the human eye. Besides, the arms and legs are much too long and thin for Maddie's age.
I'm guessing that the kept the 'last photo' back so that they could change the date on it at some point, but didn't know how to implement this until Gerry's return to the UK.

For the sun angle to cast the shadow that it did, I thought Tony pointed the time out as around (trying to remember) 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ish.PeterMac wrote:The weather is wrong.Varriott wrote:

When did the family arrive at Ocean Club from their flight, and get shown to their room. They must have gone down to the pool at that time, the playground photos being taken more in the evening, with their long cast shadows.
Does anyone have the timing of the McCs arrival at OC.

Re: Red Flags
If I were a police officer, with the McCann's apparent lack of wealth at the time and the non materialisation of a subsequent ransom note, I'd be perplexed as to what possible motive a person/persons could have for kidnapping a 3 yr. old child.

In that case, it doesn't add up. The sun seems to be too directly overhead for this to be long after 3pm. Surely there was some sun on another day?
