Textusa uses google maps to show that what Gerry said is inaccurate.
Google street cams were only just beginning to come in the the summer of 2007 and wouldn't have reached PdL by then. Now that they have, it is very easy to compare the apartment and the route to the Reception of where the Tapas bar was, and the street the McCanns live in, in Rothley. It's easy to see that there is no comparison to the McCanns back garden, despite Gerry's repeated protests to the contrary.

I would treat this one with extreme caution.
Pat and I went there and tooled around for a whole day pulling at shutters and so on, and this is NOT my recollection.

You can certainly check that the distance from the apartment to the tapas bar is more than the length of your back garden. You might have a swimming pool in your back garden; very very few people will have a public road between their house and the back garden.
